  1. Better than that, If I had bought $1000 worth of those $99 AK47 kits back in January, today they would be worth about $2500. So I conclude that a 401-AK plan is far superior to a 401-Keg plan.
  2. Soooo.... who's going? http://www.whitechristianheritagefestival.org/ I don't think I can make it - my hair is too brown
  3. Sweet - Pirate4x4.com makes the news again - lol...
  4. http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=718463&page=5&highlight=viktor The Cliff's notes: We off road guys take care of other off road guys - especially if they are members of the military. Viktor will be getting a Jeep built bigger, badder, and better that he could have imagined.
  5. Another forum I am on has groups set up for donators (red stars), vendors (yellow stars) admins (green stars). A few years back, we set up a group that a small US flag icon for military forum members who died while serving. It sounds like a similar approach might work in this instance as well.
  6. I'll answer for my wife... She got her first gun as a Christmas present from me a couple of years ago. She doesn't carry - yet - but she's interested in going through the class the same time I do.
  7. His side has been posted to several sites... I wasn't impressed.
  8. You caught the irony there too? I'd never been there before I caught wind of this on www.pirate4x4.com 's outdoor forum - but after spending the last 20 minutes 'catching up' on the story - I sure wish Oleg the best in all of this.
  9. Another vote for a shotgun if this is for home defense.

    Doctors

Counting the # of doctors isn't really an applicable comparison - it would be more applicable to count the # of VISITS (since there is the opportunity for one death per visit. Let's assume each of those 70,000 doctors sees a paltry 14 patients per day (2 per hour for 7 hours), 5 days per week, 48 weeks per year (they take a month off). That comes out to 235,200,000 (yes that is 235 MILLION). Which works out to be .000510 And when compared to .188, we are really only talking about it being 3x more likely. Which, in reality, is not all that impressive - especially considering that "not everyone has a gun, but almost everyone sees a doctor". But lets not get all mixed up with facts or anything...
  11. I'm no expert but I have done a little HR training and written up a few employee handbooks for our companies and clients.... and IMHO, the wording of that clause is pretty poor. A good rule of thumb I learned when writing compliance manuals and the like is that trying to catch it all usually ends up missing more than you catch. Oh well, as long as I am in charge - I know my handbooks won't have anti-weapon clauses... 'cause they are dumb. And no, we're not hiring
  12. Are you aware of any examples of this actually happening? Because it seems to me it would be a hell of a lot easier and safer to bust out a car window and jack a high $$$$ GPS unit than it would be to *try* to rush a guy just to get his gun.
  13. I don't understand why you draw the distinction? Either he was doing something wrong, or he was doing something right.
  14. I would disagree and call that a SHTF situation. Somewhat localized, but the total absence of uniformed presence seems like the proper time for WE THE PEOPLE to take care of our family and friends (and I classify neighbors in there too).
  15. Hmmm... Which leads me to ask: Is there any situation short of a full-on SHTF throw-down where carrying an AR15 down a public street would be necessary?

    AK stock ??

I am normally not a tinfoil wearer... but is this really the battle you want to be taking up with the gov't, should it come down to that? I'd hate to go to jail based on "the wife likes it" and nothing else. Oh, and BTW - they can check what wood that is made from, and where that species is native to. And combine that with comparison of other factory non-US stocks that are identical, it isn't going to take much to prove that stock is NOT from the US.

    AK stock ??

If you want an AK, fine, but swapping on that furniture isn't really a step forward. more than likely, wherever you get the AK from already swapped the pistol grip as one of the required US made parts to make it legal, so you're probably going to need to swap some other part to US made part over to make up the count difference. Personally, I think the standard AK setup in the link you posted looks better anyway. If you shop around, you should be able to find an AK for less than $400... and run it as-is...
  18. But how can they tax you on something they aren't SELLING to you - because to need the FFL *transfer* - that means they are facilitating the transfer from one OWNER to the new OWNER (you). Basically - the way I see it - you can't have it both ways. If they are gonna charge me sales tax, then they need to go ahead and buy it and then sell it to me.
  19. I loved the one in Franklin because it's so darn close and easy to stop by.
  20. Let's not blow smoke: getting busted for DUI is not like speeding, or a rolling stop, or jaywalking. And you don't "accidentally" get drunk and drive. So, while I disagree with - well, ANY restriction on 2nd amendment rights... I'll have to agree that a DUI is a good mark of someone who makes irresponsible decisions.
  21. She is "real people" - and I think "real people" across the country will see that if they give her a chance.
  22. Then again - Jesus is perfect so the gun only fires when he wants and where he wants.
  23. I think the main point here is that PHYSICAL destruction of the drive is the ONLY way to be sure the data cannot be recovered. That means you make sure nobody can take those pieces and put them back into something that can read the data. Drills, shotgun blast, fire, grinder, etc. - pick one and go for it.
  24. I really need to draw myself up a sarcasm emoticon... But seriously - if you have some similar plastic to the grip material, don't be afraid to give it a try.
