The first handgun I ever bought was a Sigma 40S&W, the day a I bought it I went to shoot a box of rounds just to have the firing pin break. S&W said it happens all the time on these and fixed it for me. I will never have another Sigma but I love older S&W. My dad bought an old S&W 22 revolver this morning that is perfect not a scratch, and looks to have never been fired. It just reminded me of how much I love S&W, especially older ones. This S&W is a piece of art in my opinion, they just don't make them like this anymore.
I sold my Sigma off after it got fixed and I bought a 9mm Glock Compact. Until recently I couldn't find reasonably priced 9mm ammo, I could have bought all the 40 I wanted at reasonable prices. I enjoy the 9mm but I wished ammo was cheap and easily found like it used to be. If my 40 Sigma would have worked I would still have it today. -
A Glock 19 or a 23 handle about the same to me. Things have changed, 9mm when you can find it is priced the same or more than 40s&w. I just recently purchased my Glock 19 and I regret it. I was expecting it to shoot better than a Glock 23 but after shooting my dad's and my brother's, their 23's are better guns than my 19. Their 40 caliber Glocks of all sizes are more accurate and their brass does not hit them in the forehead. I am also jealous of their ability to find ammo more easily.

This is very typical and occurs at about every unit across the country.

I have had family members with both the city and the county. They have had Glock 40's since I was a kid.

I have had my name on a waiting list for a Glock 19 for a couple of months. I recently stumbled across a used one for $500 and I didn't hesitate. It is just the way things will be for a while. If I had it to do all over again I would have just gotten a .40 Glock.

I have been trying to gather 9mm ammo but what little 9mm I find is more expensive than the same brand of .40 ammo. I recently got rid of a unreliable .40 sigma for a 9mm Glock but I would have gotten another .40 if I knew ammo was going to be less. I know 9mm used to be cheaper than .40 but now the 40 is cheaper. Why?

My Sigma 40 cal is on its way to S&W right now. It had two stoppages in the first 50 rounds so I felt like I should shoot it some more. So I paid another range visit to test it some more the next 140ish rounds did well but then it stopped firing. The lady at the range took it apart and said it has a broken firing pin. Appearantly this is a common thing. The guy at S&W was cool and said oh yeah send it in. Their paying for it but I am without a gun, I paid 350 after tax and registration but after all I have spent going to the range and ammo I could have bought a Sig. While in the Military I never saw a Beretta, Sig, or Glock f up this bad.

I have been looking at those. How do you like it? What caliber is yours?Well as soon as I get my permit I'll be carrying my Sig sp2022. For now I'll just carry it around the house and on hikes on my property.

I have decided that a 40 is what I want. It seams like the recoil is more like than a 45 so wouldn't that make it more lethal?
