Nickel and Dime.....that is my 2 cents

I was there on Thursday and called today......no .380 ACP.....unless they have a secret stash for TGO members, which would be fine in my opinion! Thanks TDR
-
Mike, You said you have .380 in the Boro......may I ask where? Thx, Hunter.

Whats the new word on .380 ammo in the mid-state area.......any hitting the shelves?

I think I have heard stories about this guy before on Thumpertalk.com or another dirt bike forum. It was relating to some dual sport/enduro guys who were on a trail that was previously fine to ride and then this guy basically threatened to arrest them and impound their bikes. The trail was only marked on one end and that happened to be the way they were coming out. They took their lumps paid the fine and moved on. Hopefully, his employer is taking notes and the more people that complain they may realize this guy is a liability for them and let him go. On a side note. They are shutting down most of the Nat'l Forrest in NC to motorized traffic and this problem is going to become worse when they have to enforce it. The locals are already in a stir.

Century rifles need to be hand picked and you need to know what to look for. Check the receiver make, straightness of the gas block and sights, etc......I have a Yugo under folder that I hand picked and it has been good to go.

The outpost in Murfreesboro has it in stock.

Looks like its time to build a ramp across there dukes of hazard style......I'll keep Daisy company while you guys jump it.

Have you considered the husqavarna TE610.....? Dualsport and motard versions are available. It has a great following by many adventure riders and has the much sought after 6 speed gear box for those long sections of pavement that the DRZ just doesnt like.

I third the Townsend area. I can tell you what I do is go to VRBO.com and browse the area. Find a couple of places you are interested in. Check out their calendar and figure out when they are available and make them an offer based on what you are willing to pay. If you do it last minute you usually will get someone to bargain with you and you can get a great deal on a vacation. This has worked on my past trips to Ski and to the beach, so give it a try.

The Outpost in Murfreesboro has wolf fmj and hp in stock. $249/1000.

I built mine for around $250.00 total when kits were cheap and plentiful. That was enough reason for me. Now I am not sure if I would go that same route, but I probably would. It is gratifying to to know that I assembled that rifle and I hope to pass it on to my son......so buy it for you, the future, and your children.

I built one with bailing wire, 10 toothpicks, and a little JBweld and it is holding together better than my last truck......let me know if you need any toothpicks.

Saigas .308 AK Variant would be interesting.

It has been scarce in Murfreesboro as well....I have been out of town for about two weeks though so that could have changed.

I inhereted a Winchester Defender 1300 and replaced the pistol grip with synthetic stock and it has been dead nuts reliable for the last 12 years or so. Keep it simple and effective. One in the chamber and 8 in the tube and possibly a tactical light and mount.

I also agree that there is a right tool for the right job.......The review on the Box of Truth is for the early model judge that accepts 2.5 inch shot shells. Taurus also has a newer version of the judge that will accept a 3 inch shells. In fact, the 3 inch version is what my buddy picked up today at On Target. The 3 inch version should open up the options on ammo and effective rounds for snakes, vermin, and bad guys. It would be interesting to see a review of the 3 inch version as well.

Thanks for the help guys. I am aware of the caveats of this unique "novelty" pistol, but it is for a friend who evidently has his mind made up. We found one at On Target in Murfreesboro if anyone is looking. Thanks Again, Hunter.

I have a buddy in the mid-state area that is interested in picking up a new Taurus Judge. Has anybody seen one locally that he can get his hands on quickly.

I have one and I do like it better than the kel-tec p3at. It needs no fluff and buff. The fit and finish alone is worth the extra $ to me. Mine has been flawless with any .380 ammo so far (WWB, Magtech,Reminton UMC, Gold Dots, etc.) They are hard to find in the Md. Tn. area, but come up in east Tn quite often if you are on the hunt. If you have any specific questions just PM me. Hunter.

Try the Simmons 22-mag scope....It is less than $50 and includes the rings and mounts for your Remington 597.

I got mine back in 5 days....nice turn around. My diamond mark is very faint and if you are not looking with a flashlight at the right angle you would miss it.

There are many methods to get the results you want. There is no right way or wrong way as long as the desired results are achieved. Here is one for a Bersa Thunder .380 I made a while back: Here is one I made for S&W 637 J-frame as well:

Yes, you can buy kydex forming kits, but be prepared to spend some $$$. I use a $15.00 heat gun and homemade plywood/camping pad press to mold the kydex. The only thing I buy is the kydex and the rest of my stuff is either homemade or local. Tips: 1. Heat the kydex to the consistency of wet leather or it starts to curl. You can use a toaster oven if you do not have a heat gun. 2. There are different thicknesses of kydex so choose the right one for your application. The thicker kydex is best for molded belt clips. The thin stuff is plyable even when cool and easy to cut/score with a razor knife. 3. Sanding or finishing rough edges use a step down in grit and be patient. I have been using what I had available, which is 80 grit, 120 grit, 400 grit.
