  1. And the new plant Remington/Para is in Huntsville, AL.
My understanding is that Para's will be branded as Remington.

Another thing that this man told me was they're going to have to find quality personnel to run the plant. He was hinting toward having problems with applicants passing a drug screen.
  2. Just got home about 6 this evening from Nashville. Yesterday was pretty crowded. Today not so bad. The exhibitors were great. One of the bits of information that I learned was that Para Ordnance is no more. The plant in South Carolina has been closed and all the equipment is in the process of being moved to a new location. When it opens Remington will be putting their name on the product that will be produced there. The little 9mm that cost them so much money either has been or will be out. They had some at the show for exhibit. Still looked like a piece of that brown smelly stuff and now it retails for $425. For $250 I might have been interested. For $425 I'll stick to my shield.

Only people that I could get to talk to me about the 22 rim fire shortage was the people that import ely. He told me that nobody is fooling with them because their are too small for anybody to mess with.
  3. My driveway has turned to that brown smelly stuff. Potholes, erosion, and just poor drainage have left it to a point where I can't ignore it anymore. I've got  about 3/8 of a mile from the street to the house. It's all gravel. I had 3 loads spread on it a couple of years ago but it needs grading before I can do that again. I've been getting a bunch of junk mail about a DR Power grader. Has anyone had any experience with that? Anything better?

  4. The old 38 super used .356 diameter bullets. If I remember right, it was a 130gr bullet. Today's pistols us the same.355 bullets that 9mm luger cartridge uses. Those of us that shoot 38 super or 38 supercomp in an open gun [USPSA] can go up to .356 after their barrels start waring out. Say, 60-70 thousand rounds.

  5. I received a package today with two lanyards, but no badges.

I also got two lanyards in the mail. I assume the folded up flyer that says "The 144th NRA Annual Meetings Exhibits" is the badge.  It fits nicely in the front of the badge holder and they sent two.

I would have thought our names would have been on it.  If you got yours, I got mine!!!

    Yep! SSDD

  6. Anybody going to go to the Delta Queen send off? She is leaving for a complete refit points South. She has
been on pilings because her engines were not coast guard approved for passenger travel. Today at 2pm she will be heading for points South for a fit and won't be back for a year.
  7. To this day I would rather go hunting with them than any of the other people I have met. When the youngest one turned 21 I took them to Knob Creek. I bought them both pellet guns. A couple of weeks later I learned that one was shooting his neighborhood dogs and the other is shooting the neighborhood black kids "with the pellet guns"
  8. I registered for the NRA about the first of March too. I called them last week and was able to get my member number and pre-registered for the convention with it. As far as parking goes, there's plenty of parking downtown, you just may have to pay 5 or 10 bucks more than what seems fair and/or walk a few blocks. Worst case, I'm sure you could park at LP Field on the east side of the river and take a 5 buck über or cab ride across the river to the convention center. Overall, the difference between "cheap" and "expensive" parking is ten bucks or less.

Y'all beat me to the punch. I preregistered I February and haven't heard anything either.
