  1. Pier pressure is a very powerful thing to a teenager. They all want to belong. Its hard to say no when other teens are with you. Even those that you know, without a shadow of a doubt would never something will give in to it And any mom or dad that says that "My little Johnny wouldn't do that" have a rude awakening coming. And there are some parents that just don't care. Case in point. Smoking cigarettes is really cool especially if you can do the French inhale and blow smoke rings. It's really cool until you got a 3 pack a day habit going.

  2. Worst thing I ever did. Now if my wife sees me looking at a pretty girl in the mall she just hands me an empty cartridge case and tells me that she'll give me the rest of it when we get home. The no touch no foul rule no longer applies. Hell, I'm 67, if I think about more than a couple of minutes I've got to go home and take a nap.

  3. I use 3.2 of solo 1000 behind a 150gr round nose cast in 38 spl

    4.9 behind a 180gr plated in 40 s&w

357 mag is a different animal. It needs a slower powder. You can use fast powders but you can't get the velocities that cartridge is designed for without going way over pressure. 4227,231, and unique are my go to's. I don't care for accurate arms powders. Too much graphite. They dirty up my gun too quickly.

    Just my 2 cents worth

  4. Even though I've got a Dillon 650 and a gaggle of die/ conversion kits. I had the dies, just not the conversion kit for 7.62x39.It was the first time I've completely reloaded that many cartridges on my rock chucker in quite a while. It was fun. I always resize once fired military cases on it because Lord only knows what kind of machine gun barrel those rounds were shot through, and I need the RC's leverage to resize those cases. When I got my mouser 98 I formed 8mm cases from 30/06 so I could reload and shoot them instead of having to use the corrosive stuff that's available without paying an arm and a leg. My Dillon trimmer is usually threaded up in my RC for trimming 223 and 308.

So as you can see, if you go to the dark side later your RC won't sit in a corner and rust.

  5. <$100/night in Nashville will mean moving a good ways out, or having a lower standard of rooms.

Just to get some perspective, would you consider a standard Hampton Inn/Fairfield Inn to be a nice place, about what you're looking for, or a dive where you'd only stay if you had no other choice?
[We stayed at Hampton Inns several times in the past. No complaints.

  6. I haven't seen anybody start a new thread about this so I will. We're looking at what to do and where to stay in Nashville. So, here goes

    • Where to stay that won't cost an arm and a leg. Downtown is $200-$300 a night. Bonnie has checked as far out as 17 miles from downtown and to get a room for under 100 a night means that we would have to share the room with 6 and 8 legged creatures, according to the reviews.
    • What to do when we're not at the NRA show. It took us a day and a half to go through the show when we went to Houston. We want to go somewhere nice for a late dinner and maybe to a show. The NRA show rates right up there with filling out income tax with her, so I've got to come up with some stuff for us to do too.

Come on guys, there is a bunch of you that live at or near Nashville. Give it up.
  7. My wife is a RN in the ER at Skyridge hospital in Cleveland. Hospital is full, usually 8-10 holds in the ER waiting for an open bed upstairs, 10-20 waiting to get back to see a doc. Mostly because of the flu. And guess what sports fans, all they can do is give you IV fluids and a prescription for Tamiflu. There isn't a cure for the flu except time. If you catch the flu in the first 4 days it may take an average of 1.33 days off the symptoms. If you get it, go home, go to bed, and decide which end you're going to put on the toilet first.

  8. I'd say that a steak dinner is in order for that lady.

Dies are an important choice to make. I have always liked Hornady dies. The sleeve on the seating die is important to me. They keep the bullet in line while it is being seated.

Components are easily gotten from David at the gun shows. He spent a lot of time with me when I was choosing a powder for 7.62x39 last weekend.

  9. I have several friends that need those spaces. So it hits home, for me. I don't get into a big argument with the person that abuses the space. I just make the comment to them that " I see that your don't have a physical handicap, so it must be mental ". I get my point across.

  10. I think the "parole "option should be done away with. Especially for people like her. She should not be allowed to ever see daylight again....

They all need to die on the chair or in prison.. Never do be able to live a normal life.. They didn't allow Shannon or  Chris to do so.. Neither should they.

I hope she dies a miserable horrible death in prison...

    Parole..my A..!!!!

If they didn't parole the guests in the gray bar hotel. how would they make room for other guests?

  11. I found my own answer to my problem. Remington makes a "flex rod" that will do the job nicely. They have one that's 12" long. That will be all I need to get a brush into the chamber after taking the trigger assembly out. It was , It was like 6 bucks.

  12. Do you remove the trigger group and bolt? My brother has one in 30-06, years ago I cleaned and lubed it but can't remember how to remove the bolt but the trigger group comes out just like an 870 after you remove the 2 pins. I remember it was harder to re-install though. Like I said I don't remember alot about taking it down but I would think you could get something in the chamber with an empty reciever.

Yes I do take the trigger group out. But can't get to the chamber with a chamber brush.

  13. I just picked up a Remington 750 autoloading rifle in 308 for deer hunting. I pulled it down and pretty well cleaned and lubed it from stem to stern. Only place I couldn't reach to clean was the chamber. I use the bore snakes for cleaning up the tube but I can't think of anything to the chamber. Any thoughts.
