  1. Anyone been to an RK show? Worth it?
  2. I'm going to try to carry my old G22 - it's what I'm comfortable with and shoot best. I'm a pretty big guy (large frame, but could stand to lose a few pounds as well) so I'll try it an see. Thanks for the responses - I believe I'll try without a belt to see if that works and invest in one if it doesn't. This place rocks.
  3. Thanks - looks like they'll be in Memphis in a couple of months. Anyone have any experience with this show?
  4. How big is the range? What sort of restrictions are there? Thanks,
  5. So, as I sit here waiting fore the THC permit to arrive, it strikes me that I've not carried my gun before so I have no idea what sort of holster I need. Brands and such aren't a big deal - I can find one that works for me I'm sure - but I do have one question: is a belt required for holsters to work properly/safely? I HATE wearing a belt, but if that's the best choice, I'll do what I have to...
  6. Anyone know of any decent gun shows coming to West Tennessee any time soon?
  7. Keep in mind, guys, that I'm speaking of hunting in case of survival (SHTF type of incident). Not that I think it's probable, but legality isn't an issue - if the SHTF and I need to feed my family, I won't be too concerned with hunting laws...
  8. Good point, and while I appreciate your input (giving me more to consider), I now hate you for broadening my horizons... hehe Seriously, thanks.

    I Challange You Too!

Thanks, db - that's all I needed to hear. Kristen taught my THCP class, and while it's boring when you know the basics, she was extremely thorough and made sure everyone understood the basics. I'm in.

    I Challange You Too!

Awesome - I just told my wife not five minutes ago that I wanted my oldest to go through that course at RangeUSA. Was it a good experience - worth it to you?

    What do you do?

I work in the recording industry - I make records for a living.
  12. For other Memphis-area guys, I checked with Brighton Arms (in Brighton - duh) and they will let you shoot anything as long as it's under under 3600fps (no steel-core)...
  13. Was thinking about more variable types of ammo (hunting, defense, etc.). Argh, I dunno. I guess it really doesn't matter - I just need to pick one and get it. I'm almost certain we're going to see another AWB soon so I want to get something before that happens (or is hinted at enough that prices skyrocket).
  14. Hahahaha, I don't generally care for or use smilies, but that one is hilarious!
  15. I hope you guys mean beers... hehe
  16. Would you feel the same way if the officer knocked on the door of your house and asked to 'look around'? I mean, unless you've got something illegal, where's the harm? I find your attitude disheartening, and it's exactly the reason our rights have eroded over the years. The 2nd amendment exists so we can protect the 4th amendment.
  17. I think I'm going to start with the .223 - seems more versatile and frankly - if it came to it - I could hunt with it. Thanks for all the input and advice - it's really appreciated!
  18. Well, it's finished - I'm photographed, fingerprinted, etc. so now the wait begins...

    Keltec Sub2000

FYI, for any Sub2k owners who want the stock extension they've been out of forever, they just got a shipment in. The website isn't updated, but you can call and get one shipped today (as I just did). \m/
  20. Ahh, she mentioned restaurant didn't pass, but though park was still on the table... Hehe, yah - guess I need to start saying it correctly. Next you'll tell me it's a magazine, not a clip (kidding, kidding)...
  21. Yah, I was thinking about that myself. Will talk to the fine folks at RangeUSA next week when I go in for my weekly range time...
  22. I think she said carrying in state parks was being debated in the TN house...
