  1. I love my Glock.  I shoot it better than anything else.     I never realized I would be so "into guns" last year when I first bought it, then added a Walther PPS.  Now I seem to want every third gun I read about.
  2. That's promising.  Thanks for the reply.
  3. Just throwing out another fun discussion...   Here's where I am.  I would love to have a Sig P229. :yum:   Let's say it averages $950 - $1000.  I love what I read about it, the Youtube vids, and it just looks pretty. And mixing it up with a hammer fired gun seems enticing.   However, my common sense tells me that the Sig will not do anything that my $550 Glock 19 won't do.   :ugh:   Why are we never satisfied with what we have?     This is a great hobby, but MAN, it is an expensive one  Why do I love guns so much?!   :woohoo:   (Those smileys, though juvenile, are so cool...)
  4. "He wouldn't really do that.  He wouldn't let people think he's a noob".      Hilarious!
  5. I think online petitions are worth about as much as the paper they are written on.
  6. And now they are out again.  Which is probably a good thing.  I just saved $50.
  7. As did mine.  I have 5 total now - I wonder if that's enough?   :yum:
  8. I am leaning heavily toward the P229 myself.  I just started researching them, and this one is right up my alley.
  9. Thanks for the input, guys.  I have learned a lot this evening.   After literally 1.5 hours of solid research, youtubing, and forum surfing, I think the 229 is what I am looking for.  I have a single stack carry in my Walther PPS, so this will be a house / range pistol (Once ammo becomes available again).  The 226 is a bit larger than I was looking for.
  10. Holy cow!  Even in 9mm, I can't make heads nor tails of the different guns Sig offers.     Sheesh...
  11. I like what I read and see about the Sig SP 2022.  They Decocker is smooth and the function of the gun seems very reliable.   I don't know much about Sigs, other than there are a LOT of different models.  What would most resemble the 2022, yet be a little up the ladder in quality? I am only interested in 9mm if there are other calibers.  Hopefully in the $700 range.     Thanks!
  12. Nor will I.  I could afford $1800 for an AR, but I won't pay that when they were $900 - $1400 a month or so ago.
  13. Dang it LOL!  You are probably right.
  14. I wonder, and wold love some other view points...   The people who are immediately buying guns once they hit the shelves at Gun Shops - how long before they have all they want / can afford, and there is once again a balance where the casual gun hobbyist can walk in a shop and buy what they are looking for?  Surely, it can't be far off, can it?   I do understand that a lot of guns that are bought are immediately put up for auction, so that plays a part as well.  And did I hear correctly?  Are some shops having a 7 day waiting period to try to curb this practice?   From what I understand, the new Walthers are shipping / being received mid February.  And surely Glock and Smith are still manufacturing and sending out through distributors.  How long can this gun / ammo shortage last?  Won't people have all they want / can afford eventually?   Makes me wonder.
  15. I was at Personal Defense Options yesterday and did some chatting with the staff.  (They are great, by the way).   I was told they have broken many In Store sales records recently.  And that makes sense.  Whether they sell all the guns they get in the same day, or they sit for a couple of months waiting for someone to buy them, the sales numbers are the same.     There wasn't much in the way of guns there to buy, but I was told they can order.  I didn't get into wait times - I was running out of free time and had to get back home.     So, it appears as the small LGS are doing well during this time.  I am glad to see that.    I wonder how the gun ranges are fairing?

    New handgun

The more I research the Sig SP2022, the more intrigued I am...

    Decockers

I am starting to like the Sig SP2022.  Seems like a nice pistol to be their budget 9mm.

    Decockers

Funny...  someone on another forum said if we truly knew mechanically how a Sig decocker works, it would be a scary thing.

    Decockers

That's reassuring.  I know they must be safe, because they sell a ton of them.  It just goes against everything in me to drop the hammer when there is a round chambered.  I know that I could eject the mag, rack the slide and empty it.  I don't know...  You are right, I do need to get my hands on one.   It's the main reason I haven't even looked at Sigs.  The Walther PPQ will be my next purchase, but obviously I am interested in branching out to a hammer fired pistol or I wouldn't be asking such questions

    Decockers

I am a striker pin fan.  The thought of something going wrong with releasing the hammer when I want to "relax" the gun doesn't sit well with me.   What are the chances of a Decocker failing and the hammer striking the cartridge?  Am I just over paranoid?   Thanks for the input!
  21. Just got a shipping confirmation this morning  :woohoo:

    New handgun

I currently have a Glock 19 and a Walther PPS.  My next gun will be a Shield or a Walther PPQ.  The PPQ seems to rival the Glock in form and function.     I don't know much about the ones you listed.
  23. Sweet!  Just ordered 2, Should be here by Jan 31.   Thanks for the link!
  24. If there is one good I take from this...  I am not spending money on guns and ammo.     I just got into this whole hobby / lifestyle last year.  And I want to buy everything I read about.  Right now, the Walther PPQ 9mm and Shield 9mm have me salivating.     No sense in buying them (if I COULD find them) if I have no ammo to shoot through them.
