    My Glock Story

I really liked my Ruger SR9c. It was affordable, well made, got rave reviews, and looked much like a Glock inside and out. But, when I shot it, I pulled low and left. I had another guy shoot it, and he was center mass. So it wasn't the gun, it was me. So I bought a Glock 19. Didn't shoot it at all until my Carry Permit class on Saturday. I LOVE THE GLOCK!
  2. Oh yeah... I passed.
  3. And even better news. I am selling my Ruger to a family friend tomorrow for nearly all that I paid for it, so that recoups a lot of what I paid for the Glock. This is a great weekend! I have to change my Avatar now (...done)
  4. Passed! 100 on written, 90 on shooting. I was nervous about taking the class with my Ruger, since I have been shooting low and left. Not the gun's fault - another guy shot it for me and he had a nice, tight center group. Anyway - I bought a Glock 19 Gen 4 and didn't shoot it at all until class. I like the Glock. It shoots better for me than the Ruger SR9c - which is still a GREAT gun! I am just happy I passed.
  5. 10-4. Not to be confused with the Glock 1911, right?
  6. Thanks. I have heard it can be boring, but I am actually looking forward to the legal aspects of using a weapon to protect myself or someone else.
  7. Looking forward to it.
  8. I was fortunate enough to take up the last spot for this Saturday's Carry Permit class at Coal Creek Armory. It's $15 more than On Target's, but it's worth the extra money to take it before Nov. 17th (On Target's next open class). I guess it's worth missing a full day of Football and relaxing, right? Have a nice Thursday, everyone.
  9. You are now my hero! Love it...
  10. Just watched that video above. Maybe I SHOULD listen to them
  11. just left the range and I did a bit better today so I am pleased. if all I have to do is hit the black I am not worried. that is hilarious about throwing a gun at the target!! squeezing the trigger instead of pulling it made all the difference in the world. still not hitting dead center, but improving nonetheless. thank you again for all of the encouragement! Oh, and the videos I watched were posted by the Ruger company. A female instructor with a female student.
  12. Nice! I am headed to Coal Creek Armory in a bit to work on my grip and trigger pull. I have gotten some great instruction on Youtube. I didn't realize the importance of the off hand stabilizing the gun so much. And my trigger pull with the tip of my finger instead of the crease of the joint. You guys are awesome!
  13. 10-4. I am shooting a bit low and left with my SR9c. I plan on going to the range and adjusting my sights if necessary. I may be pulling as well, so I will have someone else shoot it as well to make sure.
  14. Thank you. Looking to taking my class in the next 2 weeks, hopefully.
  15. Getting my permit in the next month hopefully. Thanks for the additional replies.

    Ruger SR9c

Surprisingly it doesn't bother me in the least, and I read about the dislike of it by others before I bought it.
  17. Thanks !

    Ruger SR9c

Can't think of a better testimony than this!
  19. Trust me... I will be a very meek and accommodating student.
  20. Thank you for the replies. I sincerely appreciate it.
  21. I know the gun is supposed to be visible, magazines unloaded and ammunition in the trunk or something when going to the range without a carry permit. My question is this. By "visible", does that mean outside of it's case, naked gun sitting in my back seat or something like that? Thanks!

    Ruger SR9c

Thanks for the replies. I love the G19, and one day will have one. For now, I love my Ruger. Nice to know your wife qualified with it. It is what I will be shooting as well.
  23. Excellent. Thanks for the reply.
  24. Thanks! I am a decent shot, but I hate taking tests of any kind. I appreciate the encouragement.
