Looking for an early model 52.
-
Well, I was suspicious about the modifications. As recommended, I"m going to pass on this one and keep looking for one that more appropriately represents my interest. Thanks everyone for your comments.

So I'm no expert on Model 52's but I've been looking at getting one for awhile now. Ran across this curious setup early this week. Looking for input. Seems sketchy to me.
Late 30's build, barrel has been cut down to 22", and counter-drilled 3/8" hole down 6" making it essentially a 16" barrel. Unertl 12x Programmer Scope.
What is all this about?

Guy's I'm sorry. I Have trying to do this on my Ipad and the 2 topics are right next to each other and I swear I'm selecting firearms and not gear classified.
Thank you.

Would like to pick up some older rifles. Just seeing what's out there.

I have just realized that the rifle has become unusable and can not ever be made to fire well again. You should send it to me (you pay shipping) and I will dispose of it in a timely fashion.
Glad you figured it out, please post a range report.
solid offer

My favorite is bison, but I keep a wide variety. Bubblegum seems popular with the fish as well. I'm using the same set up as @OldIronFan. The 2 lb sos is a must to get any casting distance out of that 1/64 oz jig. It's getting really hard to find though, it's probably been a year since I've seen it on the shelf.
1/64th seems awful light. I am thinking 1/32 or even 1/16th may be more along the lines of what I need to get some kind of distance out of my setup.
