  1. Same.

And I thoroughly enjoyed Avatar. First movie I'd made the effort to see on big screen in quite some time, loved how far 3D tech had come plus loved the rousing story tool, classic themes of underdog struggle, love story, etc. If you're letting your political views overshadow it, you're simply losing the point of entertainment.

I also firmly believe in separating the art and the artist, in the case of all you folks who say, "I'll never see another movie with <insert liberal> in it" and such. And yeah, that includes Jane Fonda, who has made some very fine movies, and it's your loss not hers if you've deprived yourself of them.

It wasn't because of political reasons or the actors/workers in Avatar that I didn't care for the film. Just in the same way the Transformers movies or any others use Impressive special effects to the point that they (writers/director/producers) seem to fill in the plot/story/characters with content that I personally find uninteresting. It's all preference, I know many people who, if presented the choice between great storytelling or great special effects in a movie will choose the latter nine times out of ten. Where I would choose Reservoir Dogs others would prefer Harry Potter. It's what you want to see in a film.

  2. #### that sucks after doing all that work. If it's a joist and you can find out for sure, it might help to brace the joists with adjacent planks, I.e., screwing a few planks crossways into the problem joist and a few others to redistribute stability.

EDIT: If you can talk to a pro carpenter, do that before investing in my suggestion.
  3. Sorry, Eyes Wide Shut was fantastic.

Everyone knows Avatar is the worst movie of all time. Full of bad memes and cliches, and it took own meaningless so serious it was stomach churning.

  4. Battle arms development for me on the next build....they make some very light upper and lowers with nice cuts done for the weight reduction

Check out 2a for lightweight receivers as well. I love their stuff, especially the lightweight upper receiver and matching rails. http://2a-arms.com/products/balios-lite

  5. I use whatever's cheapest from a reputable company unless I'm making a special build. Anderson and PSA are go to companies for me. If you ever want a billet, New Frontier Armory makes nice ones at a cost of a moderately priced forged lower (around $120). They're a little heavier, but the finish is nicer, and the screw in bolt release is KISS.

  6. It's been a great day. The temps were great but the breeze (windy) made it feel suprisingly cool. I've put in some miles of walking this week which was great after the recent snowfall. I believe I;m going to go with some concrete planters for a raised garden this year Ted.

If you need help , let me know. I might have free time.

  7. The Colt AR15A4 is the closest thing I have found without building your own and it's still a 1:7 twist and a medium heavy profile.

I wonder what's up with the 1:7 twists? They're on a lot of factory built rifles anymore. Is it just a fad or something?

  8. How do you feel about a 18" barrel  with a 1/9 twist? I was thinking about putting one on my lower I have.

I have an 18" with a 1/8 on my 5.56. I like running 62 gr ammo, so it works fine for me.

  9. I'm building my 3rd AR as a somewhat budget carbine. The A2 style is such a KISS set up, and I'd like to have just one. Only odd thing I'm putting on it is an adjustable front iron sight/gasblock in case I ever get a bug up my ass to silence it. Once I get that, a BCG, and a carry handle, I'm done. Most of the parts I already have for it are Anderson, including the barrel. TBH, I just don't care too much for fixed stocks.

  10. I'm still experimenting with with soil building. TrickyNicky gave me some tips that I'm trying to impliment this year since I had no time last year to fiddle with it. Then inoculated cover crops where I'm not growing food or in new land I'm annexing into the garden. Time and experience will tell what ends up being best.

  11. It has been nice. I washed the boat and clean/organized the garage. I need to get my garden in the works. Last year was a terrible year for my garden.

Last year I got an ok start, then worked 6-7 days a week until everything died.

  12. I dunno about y'all, but I'm getting an early start getting the soil prepped for planting this weekend. Probably some this week if it doesn't rain much. Green sand went into the carrot section of the garden today, and should be getting a big coir brick this tuesday. Hopefully this is a good growing season for everyone.

    - The Kardashians
    - Rapists and molestors
    - Fraudsters
    - Contractors who make 12 ft long patch cables
    - People who harm children

It's really hard to dismiss any of these points. So I won't.

  14. VA must have that way of thinking too, they will give you a ticket for having a detector whether you are speeding or not.  I disagree with the whole premise, if safety were the reason for speeding tickets then they would welcome everyone having detectors so they would slow down when it goes off; but its about the money; that is why they "hide" at speed traps.  I speed, but that is to keep up with traffic flow, and the detector helps me realize that I may be speeding too fast when on a long stretch of road.  I normally lock my cruise control at 5 over to maintain traffic flow but not run the risk of being the one pulled over.

Radar dectectors being illegal is a huge safety risk. What if you need to find an officer but s/he's too busy hiding in a speed trap?
