  1. Ran across this a few days ago and thought I would share. This is the cheapest I'v found. Shipping is very reasonable. . I had mine shipped USPS. I ordered 3 and also ordered a Gen 3 20 rd Pmag. http://www.44mag.com/product/bdm_26_round_x_form_22_ar_magazine/black_dog_machine
  2. I was wanting to go shoot this afternoon but the wifey had other plans for me. She gots to go get her hair did and I'm on KP (kid patrol). I have 5-6 different variations (brand,  bullet weight) in ammo and just ordered two more. I'm going to do a little testing and will let you guys know how things go. I feel like a kid at Christmas with a new toy and no batteries for it.
  3. After a lot of looking, reading and asking I decided on a 20" match grade upper from the fine folks at JSE Surplus. The barrel is stainless steel with 1:16 twist, A2 flash hider and wrapped with a 15" vented free float handguard. Inside the flat top upper is a CMMG stainless bolt group. Package included a clear 26 round full body magazine. This upper attached to my PSA lower without a hiccup. I topped it off with a 3-9 x 50 mm Nikon Buckmaster that I already had ( may change it out later ). JSE recommends a 100 rd break in procedure that takes a little time and a lot of cleaning patches to insure function and increase accuracy. After the break in procedure I disassembled, cleaned and inspected all the components for fit and wear. Everything looked good. I haven't had the opportunity to bench the rife and put lead down range yet but will post an update after I do..
  4. DD was closed by the time I called. I did see a rail system on their site for piston uppers. They come in 2 sizes with the large fitting a Bushmaster. They only have information and pricing for the small rail on the site. I sent an email requesting information and will update on this later.     I talked with someone at Troy and they don't offer a free float rail that will fit a Bushmaster.
  5. There is a removable plug to access the piston for cleaning. Its on the muzzle end of the gas block, gray in color with a black button.   Thanks, I will check with DD and see what they have to say..
  6. I would like to put one on my AR. It's a Bushmaster Carbine w/ piston. Seems like all the manufacturers state that their Free Float Rails may or may not fit some Piston configurations. I don't want to spend time fighting a losing battle on this little project. Anyone use a similar setup or am I going to need a two piece handguard? Here is a picture of my piston system..
  7. I love it.. After shooting a friends, I had to have one.. They are hard to find at a good price. I was at a social gathering of sorts a couple weeks ago and had the opportunity to shoot this one. Told the guy to call if he ever wanted to get rid of. This past Thursday I received the very unexpected phone call.
  8. Actually, and its funny you brought that up.. But I was considering a raffle, to benefit the "Let the Illegal's stay" rally..
  9. Red I'm sorry brother, I won them at a "free health care" rally. Couldn't get off work to use them and the Saiga seemed like a alright trade..
  10. Thanks, But like everyone else I want more..    I will convert it soon. I traded two front row tickets w/ backstage passes to the next Democratic anti gun rally..
  11. Finally found a Saiga 12 w/ extras that wasn't at retard pricing.. Fits in nice with the rest of the girls.. (Saiga 12, Saiga 7.62, PSA/Bushmaster, MIni 14)
  12. Patience my friend.. Im waiting patiently for the UPS driver as I type. My baby momma Thunderbolts are on the truck today.. Im one of his last stops other than a rare occasion.. Only 2000  rounds to go.. Its like waiting on Santa. Cant wait to send pictures to a few friends out of spite..    15:28 update.. The wife got her Thunderbolts..
  13. http://www.guns.com/2013/06/25/alaska-gov-sean-parnell-signs-pro-gun-bills-including-stand-your-ground-video/?fb_action_ids=156025497917188&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=%7B%22156025497917188%22%3A435731589859547%7D&action_type_map=%7B%22156025497917188%22%3A%22og.likes%22%7D&action_ref_map=%5B%5D   Thought I would share this with TGO...
  14. Thanks for the information Gentlemen. How well does the conversion work in a piston upper? Or will it work?  I neglected to put that in the original post..
  15. My M22's are out for delivery and will be here this afternoon. My wife got an email this morning with tracking info on her Thunderbolts. They will be here tomorrow.. Still no word on her M22's.. Once her M22's ship, we will have only one 525 rd box of Golden bullets left on backorder. Also picked up 1000 rds of PMC Bronze for $423.00 shipped last week. They should be here today or tomorrow.. I think I will send my UPS driver a Christmas Card this year.. I asked him if he thought I was crazy? He laughed and said it was job security for him..
  16. Is it worth the money to buy a conversion bolt and mag. for my 5.56 upper? Or just buy an AR style .22? Pros and cons. What manufacture would you go with on both ends of the question?
  17. Our local Wallymart had 6 Ar's in 4 different manufacturers. Colt, Diamondback, Bushmaster and DPMS. Never seen a DB in person but nice looking rifle at a really good price.
  18. My thoughts exactly.. Homeowner needs  more range time.. Now we have to pay the medical bill, the intruders criminal lawyer bill and tie up our already overwhelmed judicial system when his family files the civil lawsuit against the homeowner for mental anguish due to their loved one that is a good person that everyone loves and would never do anything to nobody.
  19. Just an update. As stated before I did receive the thunderbolts a couple of weeks ago. Woke up this morning to find an email saying a shipping label was created for the 1000 rds of M22's. The wife is still in bed so not sure if she has an email or no. As to this date she has not received the thunderbolts or M22 yet. There was about a 4 hour difference in time between hers and my order.
  20. Here are a couple more I ran across while dealing with insomnia tonight. Anyone have any information on proformance? http://www.venturamunitions.com/silver-state-armory-5-56mm-63gr-sierra-sp-20rds/ http://www.venturamunitions.com/ventura-tactical-alpha-level-5-56-55gr-v-max-ammo-50-rounds/
  21. That was a good read..   It was Ranger 5.56... http://www.sgammo.com/product/winchester/20-rds-556mm-bonded-winchester-ranger-64gr-jsp-ammo-ra556b   I just ordered some DRT's.. On there site it says these are loaded to 5.56 specs.. Can just get the 55 grain right now in seconds.. We will see how they do on dogs..
  22. The Bellhop thing is from my dad. An inside joke I guess.    I have some TAPS. Last deer season I was going to try killing a deer with them but the scope mount was broke on my Mini (fixed now). Counting the TAPS I have 4 different factory loads (all ballistic tips) to take on range day. I have seen (I think) some 5.56 rounds (not .223) loaded factory with soft point bullets but dont remember what flavor they were. Was wondering if anyone had experience or knowledge about a 5.56 round developed for hunting purposes. It may be 6 one way and half a dozen the other, as far as the differences in a true 5.56 load compared to a .223 load for hunting but wanted to see the difference on paper I guess..    As for the DRT ammo, I haven't checked on availability or cost but I see getting some in the near future. WOW!!
  23. You must be talking about the Navy's Bell Hops. But beside that I need some info on 5.56 dog killers.
  24. I have 3 different types of .223 that I'm going to the range with (Winchester, Hornady, Federal) all 53 or 55 ballistic tips. I will be hunting Devil Dogs with my AR this year and need some info on true 5.56 hunting rounds. What's out there or what you may be using. They will be going down the pipe of a Bushmaster, 1/9, chrome lined, non Hbar upper. I have seen just one or two options when it comes to 5.56 dog killers. Need some info.
  25. I have bought more 22lr in the last 3 months than I have bought in the last 3 years. It's all been at per dip-shit priceing. I have 500 more rounds coming this week. It's turned into an addiction for me. When all the panic started, I had maybe 250 rounds. I never thought in my wildest dream that we wouldn't be able to go local, and buy a brick of ammo. Never again will it happen to me. Getting ammo at pre retard prices is like catching frogs in South LA.. It takes a sharp eye and a quick hand.
