Im pretty sure the military swaps the barrels out, all that they use is the action. The m24 i believe was a long action 308 while the m40 was a short action.  Now they are re barreling the m24 to shoot 300 win mag.

I was looking around the other day for a eaa witness match. I watched a couple videos and everyone said they was picking them up for 450 to 500 now there 725. Also was looking around for a mosin but I see there prices are starting to rise to. What do you think are some of the guns right now that give you a lot of bang for your buck? Lately I've been seeing of people talking about or wanting to buy cz and sig. I'm familiar with the polymer guns like glock. Also like 1911 but I've just never looked at sigs or cz. What are some of advantages they hold over other guns or does it all come down to preference?

I seen that the Gallatin gun club had a idpa match this weekend but i didnt know if you had to be a member to shoot there? I see the waiting list is like 3 years out.

I have seen your club and it would be my perferred place to get started but my issue is i work 2nd shift  :-\

I have been wanting to start shooting idpa or other type matches. I was just wanting to see if anyone had some advice for a new guy? Outside of reading the rule books. Should I go and watch some match first then shoot? Or just hop right in?

I was think about that but already have a optic that I like. I went on and ordered a gas block with pic rail thanks for the input again.

Hello guys i recently purchased a upper its a flat top it came with a moe forearm and low profile gas block with no pic rail. I put my optic on there but i really want a set of BUIS. First problem is since i dont have a dedicated front sight and ive read that the moe hand guard shifts to much to use them. I was thinking about mounting some offset sights just on the uppper reciever. That gets me to the second problem the set of offset sights i have on my other rifle, will hang over the ejection port of i mount it to the upper. so Short of putting a a2 front sight or another gas block on it i am out of ideas. I was wanting to checked with you fellas and see if anyone has ran into this or if anyone has any suggestion or can point me to a product that can help me out. 

Hello all long time looker first time poster. I was wanting some recommendations on some outdoor shooting ranges in the nashville area. Most of them i see on google are indoor ranges.
