  1. With barbers like Rubles they have to compete with the big chains like super cuts  so they have to charge similar prices, so tips are important.

I like the tipping system because it is a way for the customer to show how happy or unhappy we are with the service that is provided, I never tip by a % of the check, I tip by the service I receive. I have tipped $5 on a $3 check before for great service and have tipped $.25 on a $30 check for bad. This is one reason I won't eat at a restaurant that auto adds a tip to your bill, A tip is a gratuity not a obligation. If you work in the service industry and you walk around with a frown, or an unpleasant personality, you might want to think about a career change. IMHO

I like to use cash to purchase things I don't want my wife to know about.   Odds and ends like eating out for lunch,  gag gifts,  and the occasional little toy.  Nothing major.   : )

I call that my Mad Money.

Yeah I do but I go to a country barber that probably doesn't charge near enough anyway. Besides...I've been going there for 22 years and I'm pretty sure he's never repeated one of his stories.

Yeah I've been going to the same Barber shop since I started getting hair cuts, use to get it cut by Ruble SR, now by his son Ruble JR since SR retired, I used super cuts once or twice when I was working out of town, and when I went back Ruble SR knew I had gotten my hair cut by someone else. I felt like I had cheated or something when he mentioned it to me lol. The stories and banter are just as important to me as the good haircut.

Always tip my barber.  Anybody that uses a straight edge razor on my neck I want to keep happy.

I've never had a shave at Rubles, they offer it, and I've thought about it 100 times but haven't gotten the nerve up to trust someone with a razor at my neck yet.

  5. I got my ears lowered today, I have went to the same barber shop all my life Rubles in Newport. While sitting there waiting for my turn with my favorite barber I just happened to notice that most people didn't tip the barber when he finished. I always tip my barber if he does a good job and keeps me entertained while cutting my hair, just wondering if I am the odd one on this?

  6. I think there are a couple holster makers on here, could someone tell me who they are, thinking of having a holster made and want to see if one of them might be able to do it for me.

Thanks for the quick response, looking forward to the new holster.

  7.  I squirrel away MAD MONEY, it adds up quicker than you think. I pay the bills, buy our needs and put 1/4 of the left over in my mad money, I never count it until I run across something I want badly enough, and usually when I find something I have most if not all of what I need to buy it. Might have to wait a little longer than I wish sometimes but it's usually worth it.

What is an "unusual high-powered weapons for hunting"?

    :bowrofl:

With liberals probably anything larger than a 17hmr would be considered unusually large for hunting :blah:!! Then within 2 yrs it would be anything bigger than a slingshot

Channel 8 news/sports is saying a 35 point underdog right now.

UT can't afford the $14 million, hopefully they won't extend his contract at the end of this dismal season.

His contract goes until 2021, I doubt he will last that long.
