  1. So I just picked up a set of AlienGear Holsters for the wife and I. Now I really need a sturdy belt to go along with. Any suggestions? I know AlienGear makes a steel core belt, but I was hesitant to order one right away to make sure the holster was going to work out ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Seems like if they say a shoestring could make a rifle a machine gun, it doesn't seem like much of a stretch to expand that to bump fire setups. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks guys, that's kinda what I figured. Once I get a couple hundred rounds in it, I'll clean it and lube it good with some Weapon Shield. Trying to find another one but no one has em in stock. I can get the regular 43 but not the TALO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Picked up a Glock 43 TALO for my wife around Christmas but we haven't had a chance to take it out and break it in yet. I noticed it has a good bit of factory grease packed in there. Do I need to clean and re-lube it with normal lube before taking it to the range or just load it up and shoot it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I've looked at a few YouTube videos and I'm still not quite sure it's something I want to tackle myself. I'm not the most mechanically inclined, so I'd rather either have someone available to assist or pay someone to do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I'm looking for a gunsmith or enthusiast in or around Murfreesboro to install some upgrades on my Ruger 22/45. I ordered the Volqartsen Accurizing Kit and TK Bushing. Any suggestions on a reasonable but reliable person? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Looks like people aren't crazy about the MKII bushing because it causes a little play in the trigger. Apparently the bushing from TandemKross fixed that. It's a couple bucks more but might be worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. What's the purpose of the MKii bushing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Thinking this may be something to start with. Inexpensive micro red dot. Should let me get a feel for how much it affects weight and balance. Dagger Defense DD22C Red Dot Reflex sight- Reflex sight optic and substitute for holographic red dot sights https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019YSI3WK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_jZ.MwbE9M2FDA Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That's pretty sweet. Thanks for the tip! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Update: ended up with a Ruger 22/45 Target with the 5.5" Bull Barrel. Haven't taken it to the range yet but soon. Any suggestions for an optic? Considering throwing a cheap red dot on it. Maybe one of those holographic ones but curios what other people use. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Interested in results on the 43 as well. Just picked my wife up one today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Doesn't have to be now. Likely after Christmas. But I'm willing to wait or shop around for the right one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Opinions please: #1 : http://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/44839 Or #2 (when back in stock): http://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/44843 Or some other variant in the price range? Edit: not in a hurry so I'm willing to wait for the right price on the right gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Well I think that knocks out the Sig. Unfortunate tabs it's that bad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I already have a picky PMR-30, don't need a second ammo picky gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I think I've narrowed it down to Ruger 22/45 Target for $279 vs the Sig Mosquito for $255. I know a lot of people swear by a Sig but everyone here likes the Ruger. It seems a lot of folks didn't care for the Mark III as much as previous generations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Well, being the impulse buyer I am, I jumped on the Cyber Week bandwagon and ordered the Bright Red Vortex Strikefire. I talked to OpicsPlanet support and they are trying to stop my original order or the Red/Green. If they can't, I do still have 30 days to RMA for a refund if I need to. Read a few more reviews and looked at some Youtube reviews and it seems the Bright Red version is significantly brighter than the Red/Green combo. I figure I'm out $60 more bucks for a full lifetime warranty at the worst compared to the PA one year. Also, not dealing with a company that just makes a clone of another popular optic.
  19. I'm new to the AR platform; however, I just picked up my first budget AR. It doesn't have a rear sight, but has the front A2 iron sight and I'm looking for a decent optic to mount on top. I've been looking hard at the Primary Arms Classic 30mm Gen II ($98 shipped with mount) and the Vortex StrikeFire II in either Red/Green or Bright Red ($157 shipped with mount).   I've been reading a lot of the reviews on the Vortex and many people seem to feel like the Red/Green is not as bright as a normal red dot and tends to wash out in bright sun. The Vortex has a full lifetime warranty, the Primary Arms comes with a 1 year replacement. Anyone have experience with either? I caught a Cyber Monday deal on the Red/Green Vortex for $139. The Bright Red Vortex is not in stock, but estimated to ship in 1-7 days. I'm considering pulling the trigger on the Bright Red just in case and return whichever doesn't work out.   All of them will co-witness with lower 1/3 and have a cantilever style mount.   Thanks in advance!
  20. Thanks everyone. Looks like the Ruger Mark II/III is the favored gun by the majority. Very close to the original budget so I will see how things end up after the holidays. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Anyone know about the Ruger SR22? Looks similar to the S&W though it's more than double my budget. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I'm somewhat familiar with the Ruger Mark 1, my dad has one that's pretty old. I'm not a huge fan of the crazy long barrel on them but it's worth looking at. I will check out that S&P. While it's a little over budget, sometimes it's worth it to save a little longer for he right one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Considering adding a 22 pistol to my collection. Don't want anything fancy, just reliable for plinking and cheap shooting. Would like to stay around the $250 mark if possible. Suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I have a new PMR-30 that I just got a few weeks ago. Finally took it out shooting over the Thanksgiving weekend. It seems to be that the biggest issue is finding which ammo your specific gun likes. Mine didn't like feeding the CCI lead free rounds at first. Every few rounds the slide would lock back as if it were empty. I rack the slide again and it would fire for a few rounds and do it again. I fired some Federal V-Shok through it and it went bang every single time. After about 200 rounds, it got more reliable. Around 250 rounds, slightly better still. The trick seems to be breaking it in good. It's due for a good cleaning now and we'll see how it does after that again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. My wife has the Ruger LCP Custom (the one with the custom red trigger) and it's a pretty smooth shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
