  1. I have been wanting an REI in Chattanooga forever, then just a few weeks before we get one they pull this mess.  I like shopping in their stores when I travel but F'em, plenty of other places to get what I need.

  2. Good luck on your mission.  As others have said, tracking everything you eat and drink is huge. Forget those stupid BMI charts.  I eat right and exercise 6-7 days a week and would be considered overweight by most every chart.  If I dropped down to a "normal" BMI I'd probably look like I was dying.

  3. The fact that you had your cabin lights on and all of your windows down and you were polite.  One of my best friends who is on the SWAT team with me got pulled over recently, rolled all windows down, turned on cabin lights and had his hands 10&2 on the steering wheel.  First words out of the officer's mouth:  "what department do you work for"?

  4. My wife and kids ended up having to go to the roadside without me.  The day before the funeral my SWAT team was asked to provide security at the church before and during the service.  We were asked to be present but not be seen.   We were very well hidden to maintain a tactical advantage and also to not upset the children.  While I spent the day peaking out of a window, it was an honor getting to serve the family in some fashion.

  5. The wife and I took our kids out today.  I wanted the kids (9,11 and 17) to be part of this and hopefully gain some understanding of the sacrifice that others are making to give them such a good life.  We were on the road side for about 3 hours today and the turn out was amazing but honestly, it was not at all surprising.  I new that this town would turn out to show respect.  Tuesday I will take the kids back out for Naval officer Randall Smith's funeral.

    Dear %%FIRSTNAME%%,
Customer satisfaction is our #1 goal and we pride ourselves on providing you with quality products at great prices. Unfortunately, Magpul Industries has discovered an issue with their Glock 17 PMag (GL9) which you recently purchased from us. Here are the details from Magpul:

After initial release of the Glock 17 PMag (GL9) a few days ago we started seeing random issues of failure to feed with the new magazine in other Glock models primarily the Glock 19 and 26. Of all the challenges of building a Glock magazine with single new composite, issues like drop free, impact strength and feed lip retention were foremost on our mind. The failure to feed came as a bit of a surprise to us and we immediately headed out to the range to investigate.

In short order we found the problem. Without getting into technical details, some small, but critical geometry changes did not make it into the initial production molds. We should have caught this but no failures showed up on our factory guns during live fire testing and flaws in our internal processes of checks/balances did not flag the oversight as it should.

So this is what we are going to do about it.

Molds are being updated with the correct geometry as we speak and a replacement magazine body with the correct geometry should be available by May 4th 2015. These will be date coded 5/15 and later and will replace any magazine bodies in service of earlier manufacture. Just use your existing spring, follower, and floor plate with the new body.

Since you purchased your magazines from MidwayUSA, you do not need to do anything, replacement magazine bodies for the magazines (1 for 1) ordered will be shipped to you automatically.

In short, we are updating ALL of the affected magazines released as quickly as we possibly can.

    Richard Fitzpatrick
    President/CEO -Magpul Industries Corp

As noted above, no direct action is needed from you as the replacement magazine bodies will be shipped as soon as possible.

    Sincerely,
    Customer Service

  7. We use a well for water.  We actually just added a second well about a month ago.  We live on top of a mountain, the old well is at 505 feet, the new one is at just over 300 feet.  Yes the up front cost is high but I like the piece of mind of having my own water source.  As mentioned by others, I have enough solar power to run the well pump if needed.  I can live a quite a while without power but with a family of 5, running out of water can put you in a bind very quickly.
