  1. It sounds to me like he was trying to be funny. Not a very good joke.
  2. I think LagerHead was talking about his mental age.
  3. :DThat was a good song. I'm not quite ready to drink the Kool-Aid yet, but I'm getting closer. The media nearly has me convinced.
  4. The libs out in Sacramento and Berkeley are offering $325 to $550 dollars a week to prop up the health care bill. You could try there. They'll even tell you what to say. I'm not sure how much the SEIU is paying to beat up opponents of the bill. It's probably decent money though. You might try them too.
  5. The only borderline crime I saw in that video was the commentators calling for the suspension of a free citizens rights in spite of the fact that he was breaking no laws.
  6. Originally posted by me, USMCJG, in this thread: "Since HCP holders in other states have been carrying guns in restaurants for years now, perhaps you could cite the many examples of law-abiding citizens who have gone "Billy the Kid" in all of those states. I'm sure it must have happened dozens, if not hundreds, of times by now. I await the many examples that you will no doubt be able to find. But, be sure to give links to reputable sources, don't just come back with a lot of bs rhetoric and conjecture devoid of facts." Translation: USMCJG, I couldn't find a damned thing to support my argument, so I just thought I'd talk out of my ass some more.
  7. Sadly, I think you're exactly right. I am actually feeling like things may be moving in the right direction in many ways. As we slip closer to socialism I am seeing more and more people take a greater interest in learning about our founding fathers and what it means to be free. I hope as the current administration continues to push their socialist agenda that there will be a huge backlash at the polls in 2010. Perhaps leading the way to a candidate for president who truly believes in small government and individual and economic freedoms getting in the White House in 2012. Of course this all may be wishful thinking, but I'm "hope"ing for some "change".
  8. That's the kind of crap that makes me sick to my stomach. It's amazing(not really) that the mainstream media completely ignores this kind of duplicity out of the dems.
  9. I should be able to tell you in the next three years or so. I am right there with you on this one. This may or may not be true. Actually the American people haven't chosen any processes. The processes are clearly laid out in the United States Constitution. This is NOT a Democracy. True, our officials are democratically elected, but they are supposed to be bound to the laws of the republic. Unfortunately, often through compromise, the government has grown to the point where they believe that the Constitution no longer applies to them. And unless more Americans(not talking about you, but Americans in general) educate themselves on what it is to be truly free, they may be right.
  10. I think you may have missed the rest of my previous post up until the line you quoted. I said that I will not break the law. There is not a whole lot that I can do about the rights that other people have already given away for me. I have to spend all of my time calling and emailing congressmen to try and save the rights I still have left and that doesn't leave a lot of time to try and get back what's already been lost.I do not feel that I am compromising by obeying the law. The compromises preceded the laws. If not for making compromises in the first place there would be no laws to break. I am of course referring to laws that violate the Constitution and reduce liberty. I am not referring to just and Constitutional laws. I am not advocating breaking laws that are already on the books. Obviously, as you said, if you break the law you will wind up in jail. I am simply saying that I think it's time we stopped negotiating for our rights. Then, once it's become clear that we will no longer accept any more loss of liberty, we can set about regaining what's already been lost. I am not in any way bashing the NRA. As I said earlier, the NRA has done more to protect our 2nd Amendment rights than any other organization. I am currently, and will continue to be, an NRA member. But I still prefer the GOA's "no compromise" stance on 2A rights. Cliff
  11. Yep. Times change fast when you're full of .
  12. Well, it is capable of learning. I'd say that makes it more qualified for office than the average politician.
  13. He's a dead man. I have seen that clip before and have always wondered what the hammer on that pistol smelled like?
  14. I actually agree with you. I would prefer the term "birthrights" myself. Actually, the Bill of Rights were not written by the framers to give us rights, they were written to prevent the government from infringing on rights we had naturally by birth.
  15. It's simple really. I will not break the law, but I will fight against NEW laws that restrict my rights. I don't believe in willingly giving up part of my rights to save others. It is a slippery slope. With the notable exception of the assault weapons ban(which the NRA did a very good job on)once rights are gone, they stay gone. Every compromise we make with our freedoms is a little piece of liberty lost. When you compromise your God given rights you have already given away some of your freedom. The reality is that all the gun banners want is compromise. They want a little bit at a time, and what better way to get it than for us to give it away willingly. :shake:So I'm dumb huh? Condescend much?
  16. Well, the NRA is far from perfect but they are the best we've got. If you want to see some changes in the NRA just join, keep your membership up for five years, and you can vote for the board. Philosophically, I much prefer the GOA's stance on gun rights to that of the NRA. But there is no denying that the NRA has done more to help maintain our gun rights than any other organization. Without them I doubt we would still have many of the rights we enjoy today. With all due respect, I disagree with those in this thread who have said we sometimes must compromise. To me, God given rights are non-negotiable. This is the reason I prefer the GOA. No compromises. I will still remain a member of the GOA and NRA, the GOA for their stance and the NRA for their clout.
  17. LOL. That was pretty funny.
  18. I hope you don't mind. I edited the article a little to make it easier to read.
  19. Judge Napolitano is the kind of judge we need on the Supreme Court. Just the law as laid out in the Constitution, no making policy from the bench. As for the crowd, that sure did look like a lot more than 300 people to me too.
  20. Since HCP holders in other states have been carrying guns in restaurants for years now, perhaps you could cite the many examples of law-abiding citizens who have gone "Billy the Kid" in all of those states. I'm sure it must have happened dozens, if not hundreds, of times by now. I await the many examples that you will no doubt be able to find. But, be sure to give links to reputable sources, don't just come back with a lot of bs rhetoric and conjecture devoid of facts.
  21. Here are a couple of videos of Judge Andrew Napolitano speaking at a Tea Party in Columbus, Ohio on August 1st. The videos are each about ten minutes long. Part 1- Part 2- If you don't already know who he is, he hosts a program called "Freedom Watch" on Fox. He also sometimes guest hosts Glenn Beck's program on Fox.
  22. Honestly, I'm a bit sick of all the politics myself. But to quote Thomas Paine- "Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it." Thomas Paine: The American Crisis, No. 4, 1777.
  23. I will say this again. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIBERAL ABOUT SOCIALISM. The far left wing defines themselves as LIBERAL, yet nearly all of their policies would be much more accurately described as AUTHORITARIAN. Free market economics is LIBERAL. Government control of huge sectors of the economy is AUTHORITARIAN. Being free to express your opinions at a town hall meeting is LIBERAL. Being accused of being part of some nefarious plot for stating your opinion at a civic function is AUTHORITARIAN. Questioning authority and demanding answers before allowing some vague policy to be shoved down your throat is LIBERAL. Blindly following someone else's policy just because they say it will be good for you without fully disclosing how so, well, that's just STUPID. The biggest problem with socialized health care is that the government has ABSOLUTELY NO CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY to do such a thing. Standing up for the Constitution and the individual rights of free people is LIBERAL. Taking the rights away from free people "for their own good" is AUTHORITARIAN. Jesus was a Liberal, Hitler, Stalin, and Obama were/are Authoritarians.
  24. I'm not sure if you meant it to come out that way, but it's very appropriate.
