what is your budget for this weapon ? that could determine a-lot. I'm no 1911 expert by a long stretch but in my opinion, buy a good base pistol and build it like you want it.

sorry i didn't get around to actually introducing my wife & myself (she had on the red hoody shooting the taurus 9mm & kimber 1911) we were working on her weapon presentation and target acquisition for her ccp class next wknd. hope everyone had a good time and we both look forward to the next shoot. maybe we wil actually get to formally meet some of the forum members next time.

what Smith said but I'd suggest bringing your own paper targets to staple to the target stands. I didn't see any extra's laying around and the ones downrange were really shot up. But then again I never really got out of the pistol pit.

went to the range today, met Charlie (owner). great guy and nice outdoor range, which I prefer. Went ahead and joined the range, probably the best $40 dollars I've spent in a while. Shot 150 rounds in the pistol pit and had a blast. Met several nice folks with some really nice weapons just wish I had taken more ammo. Anyway, for those of you that haven't been to this range before it's really nice and fairly well laid out. should be a blast.

the wife & I are planning to attend. will have an assortment of .45's and possibly a long gun or 2. Will be bringing hotdogs,buns, charcoal and water. If anything else is needed just let us know. If anyone can post the address of the range it would be helpful to those that have never been. Thanks

my wife carry's the 709 slim and loves it. not to mention she really likes shooting it. we haven't been able to shoot it alot but she prefers it over my Glock or 1911. it has alot of user friendly features and is fairly accurate. I found a decent deal on these here in Tn, pm me if interested and I'll give you the guys contact info.(not sure if I can just post it in an open forum)

well if there was ever a chance of me RE joining the forum as a paying member it has has passed. I'm not interested in conversation with finger pointers and folks that pass judgement on someone under any circumstance. I did enjoy the forum back when it was about Tn gun owners and their hobby/interest in firearms but unfortunately it seems that has changed in the past year. Thanks but... no thanks
