Just a little over a week to go!!!!   I'm off to the Carolina Cup IDPA match this weekend then we'll be rockin' it in Lewisburg the next weekend! So if you are still on the fence about this class get signed up and don't miss this opportunity in Middle Tennessee! 

I assumed you did Dolomite.   Being as this is the internet and as such the written word has no body language or voice inflection and it is easy to misunderstand postings, and I might have misunderstood yours, but my comment was not directed at you . It was a commentary on the "typical" HCP holder who can't remember the last time he actually carried or remember whether he left his gun in the sock drawer or the underwear drawer..... 

I do some dry fire and manipulations every day. Shoot IDPA matches pretty much monthly (shot 15 last year) . Teach an average of about 1 1/2 classes per month (normally 18 to 24 per year)  where I demo the drills for the students, and I attend classes from other instructors (4 this year so far).  But I'm not exactly  the typical "I only carry when I travel or when I go to a bad part of town" CCW guy.....  

Some people aren't going to like that......................................

Was that drill done with live fire or dry?

Gross motor skills work best....especially under stress...be that match stress or life and death stress.  I'd rather be gripping the slide with more than just an index finger and thumb. Like TGO David said, I fall in the "come over the top behind the ejection port and with an over hand grip tug the slide to the rear" camp. But honestly...how that guy manipulates his slide has no effect on me. If he likes it that way then rock on.

Thanks Prag....and thanks for the help with keeping things moving.    Small groups of motivated individuals are a pleasure to teach because you can delve deeper into some things that just get glossed over in the larger classes. Also the students get more reps of all the drills and you can see the improvement come faster. I had a great time (other than the oppressive heat) and look forward to working with you guys again! 

If validation marks add character then Rn29306 had enough character(s) after the 1st day of "Zero To Five Feet Gunfighting" to put on a Shakespearean play all by himself....... :cool:

The last day for you to sign up and me be able to hand you a certificate in class is probably the Thursday before the class...so probably the 25th? You can sign up after that but I'll have to mail the certificate to you after class if you are not signed up by that Thursday.   Hope to see you there!

When I put on a private shotgun class I get pretty thorough..... :cool:   By the way...we still have 2 openings available if anyone else is interested.....

I will be teaching our Close Range Gunfighting class in Lewisburg Tn (south of Nashville on I 65) at the end of June. There is a thread in this subforum with more info.

This class is limited to six students and four of the spots are taken and we decided to open up the last two spots to TGO members. This will be an intensive study in use of the shotgun for home,business, and personal defense. Looking forward to this one!
