WOOHOO!!!! I'm doing the happy dance! It came yesterday afternoon. Of course with the crazy weather, I had to wait until today to start axing and e-mailing copies. Thus far, I've sent them to SOG, AIM and Midway. Besides Brownells, are there any other recommendations for places to send it off to?

Also, you're probably going to want to head to West TN. There's not a lot of ducks in middle TN and almost none in East TN.

How can I mount a laser sight if I don't have a rail?

If you were cleaning between some rounds, then you could have ended up with some variance. One of my hunting rifles shoots dead on first shot, low left 2nd shot, then high right 3rd shot, then dead on until I clean again. This is repeatable in my rifle. Thus, you should also try firing 30-40 round through it (it is an AR after all ) with the scope and see if it smooths out over a few rounds.

I've got a generic 3x9 Tasco on mine. It holds its adjustment quite well (at lesat with about 400 - 500 rounds through it). I've got one of the older models with the side mount scope. I've never had any issues. It is a B-Square scope attachment.

A quick update: Still no love from BATFE. I wonder if all the budget wrangling has slowed down the approval process?

It sure looks like you've already given the model numbers in your first post. Look on the gun itself and you should see markings that tell you what caliber round the model you have takes. If you write to the manufacturer, they should be able to tell you all about your gun from the model and serial number, but I don't know of any online resource to do that.

When hiking, I usually carry a .357. That said, I've been known to carry a 9mm as well.

I use Cincinnati Insurance. They have a blanket limit of $2500 included with the policy for firearms (no scheduling, serial numbers, etc.). Then on anything that exceeds that number, or anything that is more pricey to replace and might boost you over the blanket limit, you can schedule it. For hunters, often times the scopes can be worth as much as the gun, so you can schedule a hunting rifle with a scope. If you're married, you'll want to look at your wife's jewelry collection, as there is typically a blanket limit of $2500 for jewelry. Then, if your wife has one or two pieces (family heirlooms, big honkin' rings from previous suitors, big honkin' rings from you, etc.) that are of increased value, you schedule them as well. This is pretty typical of most homeowners/renters policies (at least from the better companies). On a related note, make sure you insure with replacement cost coverage so that all of your items will be replaced. Otherwise, you'll only be paid for what the insurance company thinks your item is worth (read depreciation). Otherwise, you might only get $200 for your $2,000 tv. Finally, if you own firearms, you might want to look into an umbrella policy, which gives you a higher limit of liability if someone sues you. For what it's worth, I learned all of this from my father, who was in the insurance business.

Thanks for the range report. It's interesting that you said it shoots the same with or without the bayonet, since their supposed to be tuned to shoot better with it. That makes it less imposing to the other range guys with the bayonet unextended. Of course, that's until they see the fireball!

Without looking at a factory set-up, I would swear that came from the factory. Excellent job! You could make some spare cash by offering up your services via the intraweb. There's so many glock users out there that you'd probably be swamped!

A pending payment from the ATF has shown up, posting on 3/21. That's only 4 business days from the mailout. Talk about fast work. Of course, we'll see how long it takes for the package(s) to arrive, but it sure gets me excited!
