  1. welcome fellow tricities neighbor!
  2. Im going to make an "educated" guess here...since I have never broken in a leather holster.... I played baseball since i was old enough to pick up a ball....an old "trick" i used to break in a glove.... i would place my brand new(expensive) gloves in a bathtub full of water...let it soak for several hours....even overnight.... Get it out and dry it off as much as possible....take the glove and place two baseballs in it and tie around the glove with a shoestring....put it in a window sill or on the dashboard of a car....let it dry for a couple of days.......then "condition" it with glove oil.... easiest and fastest way to break in leather...i assume the same process would work on a holster....although I would wrap the gun with some sort of plastic to prevent the obvious rust factor..... Please correct me if this wont work with a holster.......
  3. ok guys...i couldnt find anything on this in the search box.... I have a Taurus 1911 .45...and a Star 9MM....I'm debating on which one to carry....I want to carry concealed as much as possible and was wondering what kind of holster to use and which gun to carry...I am very comfortable with both weapons...both are very accurate...the 9 holds 15 the .45 holds 8....any suggestions on holstering?....i think i want to carry in the small of my back...maybe...

  12. I'll post pics tonight.... and Mark actually broke her down for me and showed me the ropes on the cleaning and oiling.... And you are more than welcome to shoot it.....I'll bring the "family" to the shoot.....
  13. I am not a pistol guru by no means what so ever, but, my initial feelings about this gun= "FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!!!" It feels really good in your hand.... It shoots like a dream right out of the box.... It seems to be "balanced" very well...especially with a full mag.... Mags work in and out effortlessly.... Mags fill pretty easy too...not that any are "easy" to fill....but these seem user friendly...... It comes with a break down wrench, extra mag and the grip tool.... Also, comes in a hard case...... And thanks to Mark@Sea .... it's pretty easy to field strip(although most 1911's are, I hear) Hope this helps......cause I love my new Taurus.....
  14. AHhhhh...thanks poak...i should have known......
  15. US SNIPER This nineteen-year-old ex-cheerleader(now an Air Force Security Forces Sniper) was watching a road that led to a NATO military base when she observed a man digging by the road. She engaged the target (i.e., she shot him). Turned out he was a bomb maker for the Taliban and he was burying an IED that was to be detonated when a US patrol walked by 30 minutes later. It would have certainly killed and wounded several soldiers. The interesting fact of this story is the shot was measured at 725 yards. She shot him as he was bent over burying the bomb. The shot went through his butt and into the bomb which detonated; he was blown to pieces. The Air Force made a motivational poster of her: (Folks, that's a shot 25 yards longer than seven football fields!) Go get ‘em Girl
  16. I had a few of 'em scurrying away when I started shootin the new Taurus yesterday....those little suckers are a little smaller than a beer can......lol
  17. Must be a problem with the Quests. I have had really good luck with Nissans....just cant see myself driving anything else....
  18. Dang man....between the range and your house....I completely forgot about the cleaning stuff...my brain was toast after the Monday I had.....
  19. Well...I am going to respectfully disagree...although I havent owned a Quest...I have had 7 Nissans in a row now, and never a problem with any of them.
  20. I'll probably go Sunday....I'll be in HCP class all day saturday.
