  1. I will carry OWB but covered. It is just what I found to be most comfortable in my tests. But I generally wear un-tucked loose shirts over a t-shirt. So if fits my style. Don't think I'd open carry b/c I want the element of surprise if I ever am unfortunate enough to have to produce the weapon.
  2. My permit should be here any day, today is day 7 of the 7-14. That being said I will carry +1. I think this is a training and equipment issue. If your gun makes you nervous, I think you should choose a design that does not. I am not comfortable with striker fired pistols in general, so I don't have one. I am comfortable with hammer fired pistols with a thumb safety/firing pin block, that is what I like and that is what I will carry. With one in the chamber! With practice you can sweep the safety on the draw and loose no time at all. It just takes practice, and knowledge of your equipment. I would be nervous +1 with any striker fired pistol (not just a glock) especially one without a safety. Many are not, that is great, but that is why there are different designs. No one platform is the end all and be all, that is why there are multiple platforms and multiple variations of each platform. You should choose the one that works best for you and makes you all warm and fuzzy, and then practice! But I would not feel comfortable with any gun that I could not confidently carry +1, you need to be able to react NOW with one hand and no delays (and pray you never, ever even have to even produce the weapon).
  3. My wife has been out shooting the 10/22 once. Is itching to get out with the pistols, think we're gonna go out Sat. Good job and those are some targets to be proud of for a first timer. Good Stuff!
  4. You can get it for a wide range of prices $15 per 50 to $35-$45 for 50. Or the high end stuff for $15-$20 for 20. The big problem is finding it. I would suggest setting up an account and ordering some (back ordering) from Midwayusa.com, and if you find some before the back order is filled you can just log into your account and cancel the back order (super easy one click). Or just let them send it and increase your personal stock.
  5. The 9mm was near the edge I just reached over got 10 boxes walked up front and checked out. No questions asked.
  6. Signal Mtn WM has a lot of 9mm ball ammo. Must have like 150 boxes taking up other empty ammo slots on the shelf. Searched around for a person to get some for me...no one home so I grabbed 10 boxes for myself. (Not behind glass at this WM, just open shleving). Would have bought more if I had a little more $$ in the bank. But that is a good addition to my stockpile and now I can go do some target shooting.
  7. The Wal Mart sign rocks. Yea the wait is tough. Somehow we survived w/o it but once you make the decision to go armed it's tough to wait it out. I'll let ya'll know how the mailbox buzzarding goes.
  8. Fist holsters makes a great looking piece called Driving Holster to Cross Draw If i drove more than just a commute I think I would spring for one. If I was in the car a lot I would already have one.
  9. Congrats, apparently the TGO'ers have stumbled on to something here. Feel bad for all the non TGO people who don't have this advantage and continue to wait....naaa not really.

    Walther P22 question

I have a P22 on any given range day one of my favorite options especially with the ammo $$$$. I have had a couple of minor things that I needed and when I call the customer service number in the back of the manual (S&W) they have sent me whatever I needed no cost right away no questions, period.
  11. Been waiting to join for a while, was running a little experiment of my own. Kinda taking one for the team I'd yet to join. I was waiting on my permit w/o making "the call" gonna see how long it took. Took class 2/3, submitted app on 2/4, fingerprinted 2/5. Mailbox today, nothin...so I make "the call." All 3 checks in, issued today delivered in the obligatory 7-14 days. Who knows how long my patience cost me or would have if I did not loose my patience and make the call. Seems I held out way longer than most. Now gonna be a real mailbox hawk in a couple days. I'll repost when it actually arrives...just before I go to Wal Mart.
