  1. I my youth, my group worked on an electron microscope among other electronics at UT.  We used e-rings and springs so small you could just see them with normal eyesight.  We called them “Jesus springs and Jesus clips”.  One would fly off and we would say, “Jesus!  Where’d it go!”

  2. I see a CMP tag I think.  If so, what grade is it?  If it’s service grade, tell us about how many parts are Springfield?  You are in Nashville, borrow someone’s throat erosion & muzzle gauge plus the go/no go, and field gauges.  Knowing all this will make a quicker sale.

  3. I own an inch pattern FAL, it is Australian so technically not a FAL.  Has originally wood.  I bought a number of metric mags by mistake.  Willing to trade metric to inch patterns and some boot.  Let me know.

    Thanks

    AA2520 is a good choice

I’m using AA2520 in the 5.56 round as I write this.  I’m using IMR4895 & BL-C 2, and military surplus, for the larger calipers.  I use to shoot my machine guns @ Knob Creek and at 450 rounds per minute (.30-06) it got a tad expensive.

  5. I have agreed to buy a pistol from a person in middle Tennessee and I live in Knoxville.  He needs to know if a FFL need to get involved on in state sales shipping.  When I was a FFL 07 manufacturer years ago a FFL was not necessary for in state sales, but rules change.  Thanks

  6. I am looking for a rifle powder which has the biggest spread between U.S. rifles (5.56, 7.62X51, .30-06).  I found H335 to be a fairly good choice, but maybe not the best.  I have many pounds of powder of various kinds but willing to buy more.  Note:  Not looking for load data, just powder types.  Thanks

  7. I have an ammo can near full of M72 or M118 military surplus bullets.  They are 174grain FMJ-BT.

Will let them go for $0.45/each,  around 1/2 price when you can find them.  Knoxville area preferred but will ship.

Pics will be posted by fellow member.

  8. K.B.I.  Makarov, 9mmX18, model IJ-70HC, made in Russia, in original box.  This looks new with 1 mag thru it.  Comes with 218 rounds.

    Hopeful FTF Knoxville,  $425

No pics on this forum as it doesn’t like iPad.

  9. I own a number of Garands and match graded m1a’s.  The M1A is suppose to be a 1000 yard rifle.  Never tried that distance as no range around Knoxville has a 1000 yard range that I know of.

If you want to shoot that distance then look at the 27 caliper or 6.5mm.  They will outshoot the M1A.

If your looking for match bullets For the M1A, I have an ammo can full of military 168 grain match bullets.  I can sell you a few hundred at a good price if your in Knoxvillle.

  10. In part of a transaction from the daughter of her deceased father, I acquired a wall of ammo in cans.  Included was several full cans of 7.62x39 plus many rounds on stripper clips.  Also is an ak-s under folder plus mags. Looks like ammo is $0.42 a round on here.  PM me if interested.  FTF.  Thaks

  11. Jackalope.  The secret to a spring is does it it run even in the hottest months.  If so, it’s ground water.  If not it’s surface water.  You live in an area with a lot of limestone and dolomite (low grade limestone).  Depending on where you are in that area, sandstone can be a problem. You may be drinking water that went into the grounds thousands of years ago.  Due to the high mineral content, you may develop stones.  If you wish, I would recommend a filter system for your drinking water to remove the calcite.

  12. If you are going to collect rainwater or well water for storage it will contain no chemicals that would reduce the growth of mold and such.  Even ‘processed’ water will only last a short time.  If I were doing it, I’ve have a filter system upon extraction then boil water for say ten minutes (research this) before drinking.  If you are extracting true ground water and not surface water, you should be good in the short term.  The earth is a great filter.  I was a geophysical well logging engineer for 21 years but you will be the judge.

  13. I also don’t care for Glocks, but own a #22.  I guess everybody has to have a least one.  I also don’t hunt, my wife refuses to cook any dragged out of the woods.  I think the most responsible way to hunt is shot placement so the animal goes down quickly, yeah I know your killing it.  Hunting with a pistol makes the above hit or wound.  Might think about buying a rifle.  My 2 cents worth.
