  1. I’m am a big fan of Dillon.  I purchased mine used many years ago.  I boxed them and sent them to Dillon.  Brand new machines when I got them back.  My 550 is getting a little tired and needs a rebuild, but I hate to see the bare spot on my very cluttered loading bench.

  2. The square deal will run nothing bigger than a .30 Carbine.  As far as pistol bullets go, it’s a ‘Mack Daddy’.  I also run a 550.  My big bitch with it is, I’m unsure the primer is seated correctly.  My 550 is old with many rounds through it (see my user name).  I have added several upgrade to the primer system, the best one being a roller bearing in back to keep the primer bar in alignment.

  3. I know of a guy that is in poor health that very well may never pull a trigger again.  He has a SKB , grade unknown, but I believe it’s the top grade.  But he has all the different gauges that fit the receiver, 12, 20, 28, and I believe .410.  This could be the answer to all your request.  Not cheap as they are no longer manufactured that I know of, but what a score that would be. If he decides to sale, you will have to out bid me.  I have one and many years ago I was walking to my position in a dove field.  Someone yelled high bird and no one shot at it.  I took one shot and downed the bird.  The guy standing next to me ask, “Is that a shotgun or an antiaircraft gun”.  I just grinned and walked on.

  4. I’m thinking the U.S. property marked .45 acp.  The prices just keep climbing.  If your on the CMP list, you can get a service grade for $1050.00.  Lesser grades are cheaper.  Now go to your LGS and see what their price is.

  5. I had a G3 converted to a HK 51 Fire Dragon.  It is considered the smallest true machine gun anywhere.  The blast from the 6” barrel was just too much and you had to screw your heels in the ground.  Anyway, I sold it years ago to a Special Forces guy.

I have a number of G3 mags stored away.   PM me if interested.

Must have been a heck of a time.  I've heard stories about $100 SKSs, $70 Mosins with a span can of ammo, and $25 German Mausers.  I was slightly too young to take advantage.

I paid $25 for my original 1942 Mauser sniper (no scope).  $35 for my factory fresh hex receiver Mosins.  $125 each for 10 Winchesters and Rockollas. $85 for my SKS with a case of ammo thrown in.  Yes, those were the days.  My first Garand cost $135.

  7. I just checked and the yellow box has steel case bullet heads.

On another note, can anyone fill me on a unopened cast of 7.62x39 South African?  I’ve had it laying around for years to shoot in my SKS’s and AK’s if I ever get around to shooting them.  Thanks.

  8. I just acquired a AK47 under folder.  The receiver is marked ‘Armory USA’ on bottom, ‘SIA Gardnrvl’ on left side of receiver, and ‘MOD AUSA’, serial number 1913 on right side.  Anyone got a clue to what I have?  Thanks.

  9. Talk about a can of worms!  Look on YouTube for a short film on making primers.  The cost will be very high, the over site by Uncle Sam will be high, the dangers of the primmer compound will be high.  Then try to get insurance.

Not to nag, but you should have stocked up.
