  1. the gun shop owner i mentioned actually suggested the p22. it is a great looking(never shot one) and maybe a good range gun but i'm still concerned about the stopping power. i was actually leaning toward the s&w m&p 9mm and my step dad(who i would consider a gun expert) suggests going with a .38 revolver. any way like i said it will ultimately be her decision if we can ever make it to the gun shops together. thanks for your help
  2. i'm not buying it without her "seeing how it fits". it will be her decision. i just want ideas on what you or the women in your life prefer
  3. she will be learning with a 22 i'm asking what would be a good fit as far as a carry pistol
  4. planning on buying my wife a pistol that will eventually be used for carry. she has probably only fired 10 rounds or less in her life. we are going to go to a beginner type class before taking the hcp class. what caliber, type, and size of pistol would you suggest for her? i'm thinking a 9mm because it does have some "stopping" power but does not have a tremendous amount of recoil. earlier today a gun shop owner suggested a 22 because there is no recoil and therefore easier to be accurate with. i just don't think i would want to depend on a 22 to stop a thug that could possibly be on drugs/alcohol. any suggestions would be appreciated!! just in case it matters, my wife is small framed and 5'4" 110lbs.
  5. I don't think that there is anyway to prepare for something like this because you don't know how it will affect you until after the fact. I personaly feel that if I took someones life that was harming or threatening to harm my family I would be fine with it. Just imagine what you would feel if someone assaulted, raped, or killed a family member and you didn't try to stop them. That would haved to be much worse than the alternative. One thing that I have thought about is if someone breaks into my home and I kill that person could I continue to live in the house. I think I would relive that moment day in and day out. Probably be hard to sale a house that someone was killed in but I believe that would be my only option.
