  1. kind of figured that. only been 2 weeks. just to impatient i guess.
  2. in tullahoma it's either. may be different at the other locations. shouldn't be though since it's state run and not local.
  3. cash or credit card
  4. i hope it doesn't come to that. faxed my copies of the proper paperwork so maybe that will solve the problem. i'm going to call back this afternoon to see if they received everything. got to love when you see our tax dollars at work. EDIT: called them back and now they have everything. she said it could take 30-90 days but i'm calling back next friday. she was really nice!! +1 for her service and attitude.
  5. made the call today regarding the status of my HCP and was told they had no record of me applying for one. having to fax a copy of both my application and certificate of completion. wonder if i will have to get printed again? boy thats the best $115 i ever spent!! the wife did hers the same day so i'm going to have her call and see if they have her application.
  6. always wanted to be branded but even i wouldn't do that.
  7. i missed out on my 2 oldest both of which are girls. my son just turned 2 and i do plan on getting his before he hits 3.
  8. i was there. it was a pretty good show. Julie Clark was awesome!!
  9. i feel perfectly safe. i wouldn't buy these, mainly because i'm cheap, but put them out there to see what everyone else thought about them. i keep one gun loaded that is locked in a gun cabinet(not safe) within 2 feet of my bed. that keeps the kids out and keeps my wife feeling safe. i live in a small town far away from big city crime, and while i know it can happen anywhere, the chances for a home break in here are really small. the only child that i have that i feel is old enough to talk to about guns has been taught.
  10. no they can be reused
  11. well if the gun were loaded i guess i would be going to their funeral at this point every gun i own stays locked up and none of my children have touched them without me allowing it
  12. how many teenagers have been taught to drive safely? how many die every year in car accidents? all this talk about teaching kids about firearm safety is great but no matter how much they are taught some are going to get curious. i feel it is my responsibilty to have my guns put away or be safe just in case my children or someone elses decide they want to play with em.
  13. either i'm not understanding you or this makes no sense whatsoever.
  14. while this sounds good i'm not walking around the house with a gun holstered on my side 24/7:)
  15. i was thinking no from the get go but with your input its a definite no now.
  16. i have to keep my guns locked up now so this would be MUCH faster than finding the key, unlocking the gun cabinet and so on. as far as your statement about removing the safety, i would never leave a loaded firearm within reach of my children with or without a safety. i have a 7 year old, 3 year old, and a 2 year old. while the 7 year old is old enough to talk to about guns and the danger involved the other two aren't.
  17. have any of you seen these. what are your thoughts? i have 3 young children and usually just keep my guns locked up but would like to have fast access to one just in case. Ultimate Gun Safety Device- fast- easy- inexpensive
  18. gives me hope. the wife and i were printed on 6/26. making the call next friday.
  19. my step dad is coming in friday and bringing a bag of presents that includes: Browning Buckmark, DPMS Lite 16 AR-15, Springfield XD9SC, .22lr ammo, .223 ammo, .45acp ammo, and 3 or 4 ammo cans for storage. oh yeah, a shooting vest too. needless to say i won't be sleeping much tonight. all i will be out is some 9mm ammo and little slip of paper called a CHECK. ain't life grand.
  20. my wife shoots a taurus pt 111. she has no problem with the recoil but does have a hard time racking the slide. i told her we would trade it for a revolver but she said NO. i keep telling her to get the gun out and "play" with it, unloaded of course, but she doesn't.
  21. my wife used to live right outside of destin so i hear those kind of stories too.
  22. 5 years on june 5th. been through more than 99% of marriages would make it through. God really blessed me with a GREAT wife.
  23. my wife and i got our finerprints done this morning. we plan on making "the call" in about 2 weeks.
  24. i agree!! it wouldn't bother me a bit if they both went out of business.
  25. Fast Jacks and Daddy Billys
