I did something and went a completely different direction last night. I went and purchased the M18 FUEL 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless String Trimmer with QUIK-LOK Attachment Capability and 8.0 Ah Battery. I've had quite a few of their M12 tools over the years and loved them, this is my first M18 purchase. Like @10-Ring, I agree that an oscillating multi tool is a wonderful purchase. I've had the M12 version for a few years and it's useful for all sorts of things, although blades/attachments can be expensive depending on what you get.

Milwaukee is having an awesome sale right now where certain products get you a free battery, etc. However, folks in the know use a "hack" if that's what you want to call it. Example, I paid $299 for the above purchase, it comes with an 8.0 Ah battery but the promo gives you an additional 5.0 Ah battery with a sticker price of $149. The way it rings up on the receipt is that the trimmer is $199 and the battery has a "max refund value" of $99. Says that clear on the receipt. So sometime I'll swing in and return the 5.0 Ah battery. Brings the trimmer, 8.0 battery, and charger to $199.00 plus tax. I'll eventually get the pole saw for it as it would be great for trimming some limbs around the house.

I did this to replace my Stihl. While a great gas trimmer, think I'll try this electric one for the summer. I paid $350 for the Stihl a few years back and think I've already found a buyer (or two, or three) on FaceBook for $300 even.

I also have a cheap Walmart brand 20v leaf blower. I'll end up trying to sell it as well for whatever bills someone gives me. I think I'll do the "hack" and replace it as well. Tool ends up being less than $100. At some point I will need more batteries though so at some point I will probably have to keep one of the 5.0 Ah or buy one of the larger ones outright.

I saw all of this to say I think I've decided my first purchase will be an M18 cordless saw. Even if I went out today and replaced every board on my deck, that's only 42 boards. In other words, it will be generally light use as I'm not making money cutting wood.

Then I'll later get a miter saw for playing with. But it's summer and I gotta get more M18 toys.

I have alot of the M18 tools also and have had great luck with them.......i just got the pole saw, extension and blower.........the blower isn't too bad but i could never replace my bigger backpack blower with it, but i still really like it alot. It's easy to just have in the house and grab it to blow off the deck or sidewalk.  The blower does however run thru the batteries.  I use it to help dry the car sometimes too lol.   I haven't used the pole saw yet, should any day. I have thought about adding the string trimmer attachment  too it, so let me know how you like it.   You think it can replace the gas powered stihl?  I have some of the milwaukee lights i like alot too.  I always look for the free tool or light deals.   Thanks for the hack idea too.......i noticed that on a past purchase but forgot all about it.

Seems Facebook is all tuned up to ban and censor conservatives or anyone that speaks against abortion or teaching 5 year olds about  LGBHTQRS+%* indoctrination, but they have no mechanism to alert them to actual pending terrorism.

Young fella, you have every right to hold this opinion, or any other one for that matter, but, if you want to have people respect your ideas, what you should strive for is to qualify your statements with the factual evidence that you used to reach your opinion. Many people in this age have strong opinions to share, but very seldom do you hear how they got there. This statement that you made earlier would be a very irresponsible thing to put into circulation if you cannot back it up with factual evidence. I think you will find that you are in the company of some extremely well informed and intelligent Tennesseans (myself excluded, obviously) who know a thing or two about our government, and may not appreciate here-say…which is basically a statement that makes an assertion yet lacks the evidence to confirm whether or not it’s the truth.
Look, please don’t think that I’m picking on you here, because I am not. Rather, I’m trying to give you some helpful advice. Making a claim like the one that you made is akin to what is being fed to the misinformed every waking hour from the corrupt news media in this country. Thanks to social media, non-events are flamed into conflagrations in no time flat because we are living in a time where people simply react in a knee jerk fashion rather than take the time to find out whether something is true or not. Sometimes, God forbid, innocent people get hurt. This is tragic.
What if some day in the future you work for an employer who bids on, say, a government contract? Perhaps this contract requires you to obtain a clearance to work on a sensitive piece of equipment. When those fact finders dig into your life (and they most certainly will), a statement where you publicly go on record and blame the government for a heinous act such as the one perpetrated by that disturbed young man will not be to your advantage. When we hit ‘send’, our words go out into cyberspace and you can’t simply reel it back in. Do I agree with that? No, no I do not. Everyone has said things, thought things, even done things that they regret as soon as it happens (myself very much included!). People change, opinions change, people grow, mature, become wiser, smarter and to judge someone’s lifelong merits based on a tweet or text is the definition of insanity…but these are the times we are living in, unfortunately.
These terrible events are not going to go away. They are here to stay and they’ll keep getting worse because the die has been cast and there’s no turning back. We as a nation have collectively turned our back on the only One who could possibly right this sinking ship. Professing to be wise, we’ve become as fools. It is far too late to save this country but, thankfully, people can still be SAVED.
Brothers, if you want to understand why these things are happening, just search the Scriptures. Solomon (who has the distinction of being the wisest mortal to have ever lived) wrote “there is nothing new under the sun”. Think about that for a minute….all the ‘advances’ our society has made…the technology, even! It’s nothing new, only packaged differently is all. It was Paul the Apostle who reminded/warned us in Ephesians Chap 6 and verse 12 that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. Just in case anyone isn’t familiar with “principalities, powers, and rulers”, those are different ranks, or classes of wicked supernatural entities that serve the (little g) god of this world, also known as “the Prince of the Power of the Air” - our Adversary, Satan and this is all his doing. This domain is his until Christ returns to take it from him.

    Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

Amen to the last 2 paragraphs.  It's a Godlesss Society we live in or as you said a society being run by the adversary.  Satan has taken over and theres no way god is happy looking down at all the things going on.  I'm not necessarily talking about this event here as much as all the other crap going on in the country.  He is a vengeful God and people need to get to know him quick, I'm not sure how much time we have left.  i'll be on that narrow path right there with you JD.

  6. We have a rescue mix that is 18 years old, we have had him since we adopted him at age 3.  He is a family member and i would risk my life to safe him as i would my kids.  He went on our honeymoon and all vacations.  He has made such a huge difference in our lifes.  HIs time is coming to an end as he has a mass near his heart, and it's going to be very tough, but i thank God every day for putting him into our lives.  I hate that these dogs were abandoned, that's horrible, but i am glad that you got them and glad to see them on here, it's a great group of people and i hope someone has a place in their home and hearts for them.

Good news overall for TN/ EAST TN, but traffic is already abysmal in Blount County. I moved from the Nashville area a few years ago and traffic, and housing supply/demand has progressively gotten worse each year. I guess the secret is out on the Knoxville area. Oh well. Hopefully they make appropriate infrastructure changes to the area to absorb the continued growth, unlike Nashville.

I have always lived in East Tn and it is absolutely amazing how much maryville has changed in the last 20 years.   It used to be such a nice quiet town.  Same can be said for where i live too, i guess its just change and not much we can do about it.  People are moving here from all over, buying houses without even seeing them in person.
