  1. Maybe I didn't read the law, but is signage required? I thought it was just a vote. Granted, one would hope to see signage rather than just allowing for ignorance of an action.
  2. I remember after Army basic, my wife got the biggest kick out of me being able to do pushups while... well... er... enough of that thought.
  3. Legal question... does the law require the exemption be done prior to that date? Can the exemption be either added or removed after that date?
  4. Have there been any cities or towns so far who have gone on record as NOT banning guns in parks?
  5. Seems the Tullahoma News is editorially trying to jumpstart the parks issue: Tullahoma people, please contact the members of the Board of Mayor & Aldermen.
  6. .380 spotted at Hero Gear in Winchester on Wednesday and again yesterday. $19.99 for Wolf steel 50 packs.
  7. I still haven't had a chance to walk by Daddy Billy's or Fast Jack's to see if any signs are posted.
  8. Just picked up a couple of 50 round boxes of Wolf 91gr steel case at Hero Gear in Winchester for $19.99 each. They had several boxes left out front and more in the back.

    Ruger LCR

Hero Gear in Winchester has a LCR w/ Crimson Trace in stock.
  10. Of course! My camera doesn't leave marks on the subjects.
  11. FYI, I know the state laws... learn a little about the person you're putting down in public before you do so. I am former military .. and moved back from Yankee-land not that long ago. I'm waiting for the right opportunity and funds to align for getting my HCP. I carried with a permit for years in LA before moving north. I haven't had a chance to go see if either business has posted a sign or not. Here's the news article: I completely understand Tullahoma is an interesting mix of politics... I've suffered from that already since moving back. However I grew up here and moved back to let my daughter grow up in a place that is safe with good schools. BTW, I shot the mayor a little over a week ago. He's looking better than ever!
  12. I haven't done field day since leaving LA (the state, not the city) in 96. N5SIF
  13. Since the two biggest downtown Tullahoma food locations have publicly stated their intent to deny carry, I'd like to organize a meeting between their owners and the HCPs and supporters in the area. The numbers I researched indicate 848 HCPs in 37388 (4.71%) and 6,565 HCPs in the four county area (4.55%). So if you live, work, shop or travel through Tullahoma, please check in.
  14. The article is only available to subscribers (I get the paper electronically). FYI, there are 6,565 HCPs total in the four counties around these businesses (Coffee, Franklin, Moore & Bedford). Running those numbers against Google's population count, that's 4.55% of the local population have HCPs. Would anyone else want to join me in meeting with the owners of these establishments? Or should we even bother?
  15. Here's the article in question...
  16. Then it'll probably happen again.
  17. The only thing I've ever hunted with a long gun was paper and those green plastic pop-up targets. I, too, wouldn't know where to start.
  18. I left TN in 1990 and have been aching to come back home since... finally made it back last year. You will like Clarksville. It is one of the most affordable areas of the country to live and, as home to the 101st, very military friendly. If you like military gear, ya gotta go check out the US Cavalry store. Austin Peay State University is a great asset as well. Since you'll be so close to KY, you might want to take a look at their laws too. The TN HCP (and prob the CO one as well) are recognized there. Welcome!
  19. Cool... the law of unintended consequences actually takes a positive turn here!
  20. While I understand your concern, it is very apparent that this law was written to require a very specific statement for compliance, not a potentially vague statement of intent. I understand that there are more laws out there than any LEO can be well versed on and there are cases where a LEO must make a decision to arrest based on an incomplete understanding of the applicable laws. An arrest is not an arrest until a judicial commissioner executes a warrant. I know of plenty of incidents where the officer is told no law has been violated and no warrant is issued. Booking officers hate these because they have to expunge any booking records. So prepare yourself if a LEO does not know the law... take a cell phone pic of the non-compliant sign and insist on speaking with the judicial commissioner before an arrest warrant is issued. Show the person the non-compliant sign and point out the law. Just beware that if you are belligerent and uncooperative with the proprietor or LEO, you could also be charged with other offenses such as disorderly conduct.
  21. Wouldn't that be vandalism?
  22. Maybe a smart entrepreneur will develop a sign package that is purposely NOT legal and sell it while explaining the benefits of making the anti-gunners feel good while letting HCPs know they are welcome.
  23. Well if you find yourself heading toward Coffee County, give me a shout. It's a mostly full box of .22 short CCI hollow points. I read somewhere else tonight that the .22 short is an incredibly accurate round.
  24. It is my understanding that pointing a gun at someone is a violation of the law. I recently read of an incident (can't find it now.. and it's likely another state) where a person displayed a handgun to a carjacker, but because he did not actually defend himself, he was charged and can no longer own a gun.
