  1. If you dont mind me askin how much was the 27 after tax and everything. Im in the market for one but my wife has me on a budget and Im tryin to get a idea on how much it will be from a shop vs one used.
  2. I work a ford dealership, so I carry a Ruger lcp .380 with me at all times. I have a Ruger p94 .40cal and a mossberg 500 as my hd guns. They are just to large to carry or conceal while Im at work. The owner said that I can carry anytime while on the job (and fully supports the fact that I carry while working), but it cannot be seen or have any customer know that I am simply because of a incident that happened a few years back where a customer spotted one of the techs with his handgun iwb and freaked out about it and started screaming and yellin "hes got a gun". Since then if we carry it has to be completely hidden and secure on our person at all times or we will loose the privilege to carry while on his property all together. I would rather have my lcp with me all day while at work and never have to worrie about anyone seeing it than have to leave it in the car where it does me no good, on some days that I have to stay over I will be the last person to lock everything up and leave so my lcp being with me thru the day and at night just works really well for my needs while Im at work. When I get home I swap the lcp out for my p94 in a fobus holster to carry around the house.
  3. Nice website with alot of good info, in the 3rd pic down is that a ruger p series pistol? Ive got a ruger p944 and Ive been itchin to get me a pc4 to go along with it since it will take the same mag/cal. bullet but I really like this alot better and I havent found a pc4 that was in my price range. Is it possible or does anyone know if anyone has used a ruger magazine in the 40S&W?
  4. Well Ive got to drive for my job tomorow to go pick up a car in Indiana. Ive looked at a couple different sites and from what I can find I should be fine to cc from TN thru KY and in IN since I have a valid TN permit. I just want to make sure Im right and there isnt any different laws I need to know about before I head out in the morning. Any advice or knowledge is appreciated thx Thatch
  5. I took my test on 10/3, filed at the dos 10/6, fingerprinted electronically 10/13 and got mine in the mail 10/30. I was suprised I got it that fast I figured it would atleast be nov or dec
  6. lol thats pretty much what happen the first time i was out there, the cop that usually patrols our area drove by and seen my with it so he stopped and just started talkin to me about it. Ive been carryin both my lcp and my P94dc 40cal when Im outside now. They are both really comfortable to carry i just have to carry the P94 obw in my fobus, and my lcp iwb in a uncle mikes. Everytime there outside all i get is dirty looks and him starin at my guns.
  7. I actually got into a argument with neighbor about this the other day, I was weedeatin my yard inside our fenced in front yard and had my lcp iwb 5 oclock position. Well I bent over to pick somethin up and apparently my shirt caught on the handle I didnt notice it but he did. He walkes to the edge of his yard and starts yellin at me sayin im not allowed to carry a gun out in the open that I must think im a big man with a gun on my side and to not accidentally shoot his gfs son and all this buddies sittin on the front porch. I walked over to my fence and simply told him he didnt know he was talkin about that i could legally carry my weapon on my own property open or concealed, and not to worrie that I had no intentions of randomly fireing in there direction or firein it at all unless a situation arose that called for that type of action. He says yea well we'll see what the cops have to say about that cuz i already called them. They get there (including a cop that i know and has already talked to me about carryin in my yard) they came up and asked me and my family what was goin on and i explained the situation while the other 2 talked to some surrounding neighbors and to the guy. Apparently he called and told them I was waiveing it around in my front yard which they didnt beleive since the other ppl that live around us were out side the entire time and told them what had happened. So... they gave him a real good chewin about callin in a false police report and told him I could carry my weapon any where on my property or in my neighbors property with their concent and there was nothin he could about it. They even told him he wasnt very smart startin trouble with a man knowing he was carryin a loaded weapon about him carrying his weapon. They said if he gave us anymore trouble or came onto our proplerty to just call them and he would be goin to jail for tresspassing, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace.
  8. WELL.... I picked up a Ruger lcp over the weekend and I must say I love it. I wore it around my house all last night and did some work around the house just to make sure I would still be able to work and wear it without any problems. After about 30 mins of it iwb at 4 oclock position I could barely tell it was there and didnt bother me at all after that. My girl is already tryin to get me to give it to her when she turnes 21 lol
  9. thx good to know, Ive got a oe synthetic stock for it but I really didnt want to have to put it on there I like the pistol grip lol
  10. This thread has got me worried a lil now lol. ive got a mossberg maverick 88 18.5in barrel with a pistol grip that I beleive the guy i bought it off of installed. I know the barrel is fine but not sure if its overall length is long enough.
  11. Ive pmed him about it lol, I was reading some other stuff on here and Im kinda worried about my maverick 88 bein to short, 18.5 factory barrell and the guy I got it from put a pistol grip on it.
  12. My boss is crazy but very cool lol, he carries and keeps a tactical mossberg maverick 88 in his office "just in case" as he puts it. Ravendove: Ive been keepin my eye out for a lcp also, I plan on gettin one sooner or later but I know when my girl turns 21 she is gonna steal it from me. everytime she goes to a gun store she looks at lcps and anything pink they have lol TGO David: Im tryin to trade dude my shotgun for it since I have 2, so if the deal goes thru and I dont like it or just want somethin else I can hit you up and see what we can work out. then you wont have to try to steal your wifes
  13. yea if im at my house I usually have it in my fobus which is the most comfortable or my owb. I have a iwb but it imprints with my work shirts so I cant carry it at work. My bosses rule is if customers cant see it I dont care thats why Im lookin at sub-compacts. My friend that let me shoot his glock carries his at work and never had any probs concealin it. Weve had a incident or 2 where a customer freaked out cuz a tech had his to where you could see it. She made a big scene out of it like it was a sin to have a gun at a car dealership, the owner handled it all and convinced the woman he worked here and wasnt gonna shoot anyone. after that he said if we were gonna carry to conceal it or leave it in our car or home. I
  14. Im just weighing my options at this point. Im definatly keepin my Ruger Ive had it for 3 years, never had any probs from it, its always right where I need it to be at night just incase somethin happens, and its pretty much the first handgun I really learned to shoot. I would really like to stick with 40cal that way both my guns use the same ammo and I like it better than 9mm. Im really leaning towards a glock 27, a friend let me shoot his a few weeks back and I loved it. Ive held a xd and it felt pretty good in my hand but the safety on the back bugged me a lil bit I think Im just not use to havin it there. Im proly just gonna save up some and get what Im really wantin since itll be around oct before I get it in the mail anyways and if I get one of the three 40cals Im gonna keep it for a pretty long time. thx for the advice thatch
  15. Ive a Ruger P94DC 40cal and Im going to get my ccp on 8/29 I know I could use my P94 for the test since Im very confident with it. The only problem is its just to big and heavy for me to want to carry everyday, so Ive been looking for a glock 27, xd40 sc, or s&w M&P 40c. I havent had any luck finding one in my price range (unfortinatly my price rang is gettin smaller). Ive decided that I dont have to have a 40cal so I started looking for others and found these 2 on a local site both in my price range (around 300 bucks) and I was wantin to get some info on them size, reliabilty, price, avalibility of magazines and other parts and pretty much some opinions on if I should pick up one of these or just hold out to get me a 40cal. heres both the ads and thx for any help/ advice Thatch SMITH & WESSON MODEL 3914 COMPACT - 9mm Parabellum caliber, double action semi-auto, aluminum alloy frame, 3 1/2 in. barrel, hammerless, 8 shot finger extension mag., fixed sights only, ambidextrous safety, blue finish, straight backstrap grip, 25 oz. Great gun, purchased from Franklin Gun Shop January, 2009. I've shot a handful of boxes through it- no jams, recoil very tolerable, and extremely accurate! Very, very good gun for concealed carrying. Sellin A Bersa Thunder 9mm Ultra Compact Handgun with 2 10rd clips and a speedloader with case. The gun is in immaculate shape and has never jammed or caused issues. i have taken it apart and thoroughly cleaned inside and out after every use. Its a Semi-Auto with trigger lock and key lock on side of gun. key lock on the side prevents all functions including taking gun apart and loading a bullet into chamber. Still have original box and paperwork. ill even throw in my cleaning kit. And yes gun is clean. It was purchased by me 7 months ago brand new and has only been fired by me in a firing range. Any questions or if you want more pictures feel free to ask.
  16. Well I stripped it down cleaned everything, reassembled it with the side holster to see if it was something with it causing the problem and it wasnt. shot 20 shells thru it with no probs over the weekend so im pretty sure it just needed a good cleaning. thx for all the help and advice
  17. I bet that is my problem, my dad switched the side saddle out for me while I was at work the other day. I had it on my 500a and he put it on my maverick so I bet he tightened the crap out of it. Ive tried 3 differnt types of ammo with the same results and used all 3 in my 500a which performed without any problems. Im gonna strip it down tonight after work clean it all check everything out on it and proly try it without the saddle on it. Ill keep yall updated on it and thx for the help
  18. Well I took the 12ga Maverick 88 I recently purchased used out for a shoot yesterday. This was the frist time I have got to shoot it, everything actioned thru really good when I was takeing my 3in 00 buck out to load some 2 3/4 shells my dad had gave me. Everything loaded fine, actioned one into the chamber and it shot with out any problems, actioned fine with the 2nd shell going in, but after I shot it the slide locked up and wouldnt action. It took me grabbin the slide with both hands to get the 2nd shell to kick out. 3rd and 4th were fine, but the 5th shell wouldnt fire so I kicked the shell out thinking it was my shells. I loaded the 5th shell that didnt fire the 1st time back in along with 4 new shells straight from the box. 1st shot same thing slide locked up. The next 2 were fine but on the 4th (one of my new shells) no fire, I pulled the slide back some to get a look at the shell pulled it back forward with a good tug and it fired, 5th shell (shell I had reloaded from the 1st round) actioned in fine, fired, but slide got locked up again. If anyone can shed some light on what the prob might be I would really appreciate it. The gun is a Mossberg Maverick 88 has a pistol grip and 6 shell side holster. heres a pic for refference its the one in the middle just realized I think I put this in the wrong section mods feel free to move if needed
  19. On the mossberg maverick 88 the safety is on the trigger frame, for me it doesnt bother me at all being right handed but what I did notice with the pistol grip I have the slide lock is harder to get to with your right hand
  20. Ive got a mossberg 500a and i picked up a maverick 88 over the weekend and i love them both. as far as i can tell there pretty much the same gun and i picked each of mine up for around 200 bucks used. for a short good lookin shoty for hd i couldnt pass it up.
  21. I picked up a new mossy 12ga over the weekend so I decicded to take a pic of most of my guns and see what you think. Mossberg 500 (on the left), Mossberg maverick 88 with pistol grip (the one I picked up over the weekend), and my .40cal Ruger. I also threw in my belt just for fun let me know what you think. heres another I took
