  1. Saw this article, found it interesting, it is yahoo...

    http://news.yahoo.com/cerberus-sell-gunmaker-freedom-group-u-school-shooting-062303957--sector.html

(Reuters) - U.S. private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management said on Tuesday it will immediately begin selling its investment in gunmaker Freedom Group in light of last week's school shooting in Connecticut.

Pressure mounted on Cerberus as the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) said on Monday it was reviewing its investment with the private equity firm after the Connecticut school shooting.

CalSTRS had invested $751.4 million with Cerberus by the end of March 2012, according to its website.

Cerberus acquired firearms maker Bushmaster in 2006 and later merged it with other gun companies to create Freedom Group, which reported net sales of $677.3 million for the nine months ending September 2012, up from $564.6 million in the same period a year ago.

Bushmaster is the manufacturer of the AR 15 rifle used by the shooter in the Newtown, Connecticut killings that claimed 27 lives, including 20 school children.

The private equity firm said it will retain a financial adviser to sell its interests in Freedom Group, and will then return that capital to investors.

Founded in 1992 by Stephen Feinberg and William Richter, New York-based Cerberus has over $20 billion under management invested and shares its name with a mythical three-headed dog that in Greek mythology guards the entrance to the underworld.

  2. I really like these things, posted my review on youtube

The additions of the belt slots really sold me on this holster. I mention in the video that the holster seemed to stick out when I tried it. I went under the gun through the loops. It worked but didn't keep the gun as high and tight as I would have liked. I think if I weaved the belt through and over the kydex body it would be much better but I haven't tried it yet. I found them by accident, I was going to buy a shield and found these holsters looking at shield videos on you tube. Really glad I stumbled across them, took about three weeks to get it though.

  3. I'll let them carry it out to save 10%. I do try to buy from small stores but I will not pay a premium to do it either.

Like buying online. I give local shops the chance at my business and most get an attitude for asking if they will match. There are local shops, Mike's, that can an do regularly beat online sellers. Two of the last three guns came from Mike's and the third was bought online because he couldn't get a Cricket pistol.

What is this Mike's you speak of? I've heard of a little shop somewhere around Sweetwater that makes it a point to beat online retailers, i'll ask someone at work about it.

  4. Not to resurrect an old thread, but just visited Bass Pro at Opry Mills (Nashville) - they have a sign stating that anyone carrying a weapon must surrender them to the clerk at the counter before entering the store. If I think about it I'll snap a quick pic of it on my way back out.

1.) Did you ask them what that meant exactly - was it posted otherwise?

2.) That Bass Pro could be slightly different rules wise, they could be posted because they are open to the mall, dunno.

  5. The stages are up for the August USPSA match at ORSA at ORSAAP.com. Experience Olympic competition with such stages as the "9 X 19 Relay," the "Shot Put Accurately," and who can resist "Synchronized Shooting."

We will be setting up Thursday, 16 August at 10 AM, all help greatly appreciated.

Look forward to seeing you at the range.

Is you're name Mark? Cool looking stages, pretty sure i'm gonna make it, should be fun!

  6. You can put lipstick on a pig.... :taunt:

Looks good, I like the green.

I think I'm gonna fill in my 15-22 to give it a little something different.

God knows I've got about a brazillion crayons here at the house.

I'm sure it'll look better on the gun than it does on my walls.

 If I had it all to do over again I would have waited to buy a house until my children were... well, housebroken

  7. I do that a lot with crayons. It's cool and nonpermanent. I even keep a few white crayons in my cleaning box to refill after I scrub a gun down. A habit I got into years ago in my Mil Surp bolt action mania.

Cool, does it get messy when it gets hot (its my competition gun so it may get a little warm).

  8. Just got home from a movie there. Since it was after 6 on sunday, the mall was closed. There is an entrance to the theatres between them and the mall. It is posted.

    Glenn

This must be relatively new, last time I was there I didn't see one, but I did see quite a few people carrying other than myself.

  9. Technically no. Foothills Mall if I remember correctly is posted at all the major entrances (probably not correctly but posted nonetheless). The new theater has to be entered from the mall... so draw your own conclusion on that. The actual entrance to the mall for the movie theater is not posted (last time I was there).
