  1. I used to hunt them with my compound bow with "flu-flu" arrows and "karate" points. Scared the crap out of several, but never got one with bow. I'll stick to my "lead launcher" thank you!

I've been on the lookout for a .36 cal smoke-pole for a while for the skwerls.

    Any recommendations?

I really do want to get into black powder (NOT inline stuff) hunting this next year, to compliment bowhunting.

All the time :woohoo: I've had animals at 3 yards look right 'through' me in ASAT. te 3D leafy suit is, to my mind, the best hunting camo money can buy.

That said, I do like to mix up ASAT & Predator Spring Green or Fall Gray, usually pants of one pattern, top of the other.

  3. Bear Montana longbow here. I just wanted a challenge, that's why I started hunting with it. Buy a traditional bow and keep it simple :)

    :D +1 here.

I have lots & lots (& lots) of bows, none of which havewheels or sights ;)

Longbow & recurve only for me. Why make it more complicated than it needs to be? :poop:

  4. Personally speaking, I'd take the Muzzy Zero Effect rest over a whisker biscuit any day. It's a cable operated drop away rest that prevents arrow knock-off & doesn't rely on a tie to the cables. Bit of a pig to set up, but ultra-reliable, gives zero fletch contact & self-centres your arrow.

  5. Wow! Thanks guys, glad you like 'em.

I'm not selling or making anything at present (More's the pity) until I can get set up with the essential powertools. It's funny, looking back, I never thought I'd ever have to buy another anvil! None of my powertools could make the move either, so I need to get hold of a new pillar drill/polisher/bench grinder/machine vice/etc.... before I can do anything! I can't even build a workbench until I get the tools. It's killingme having to start from scratch again

  6. Hey y'all, a few guys mentioned on my intro thread that they'd be interested at having a look atwhat I used to do for a living before I moved from the UK to the US.

Here's a few quick pictures (Sorry about the quality, I'm an engineer, not a photographer! :D )

  7. Hi folks, just a quick intro.

My name's Rob & I've just moved to Tullahoma from the UK. Been here for 9 weeks now & loving TN!

I'm not new to shooting sports, but I am inexperienced when it comes to handguns. All my shooting & hunting has been done with either a smokepole or traditonal archery gear.

I'm a custom knifemaker by trade, but I had to give that up to move here & my Wife & I now run a boarding kennel & pet-grooming business. I'm hoping to be back on the cutlery within a few months (As soon as I get a workshop set up!)

I'm looking forward to being a part of this community & look forward to learning a lot from all of you.

    :tinfoil:

    Rob.
