  1. Carry.....be prepared. No one HAS to know. If its a private party then no one will be chillin at the entrance with a medal detector. If it hits the fan i would doubt anyone would file charges for saving their life.

This isn't legal advice and dont take it as such....just sayin what i would do in you situation

  2. Well....its a little late now but i purchased a G26 this week. I havent got it to the range yet so i am wondering what to expect. I wanted a .40/.45 carry gun but after holding the compact glocks i assumed that might be too much power for a gun that small. I feel VERY conferable with the 9mm and most of my guns match that caliber.

Also, if you have any OWB holster suggestions i would appreciate it. I want to carry OWB with a jacket/sweater. Any suggestions would be appreciated ;)

    UMM>>>TO CLARIFY THE TITLE>>>>I PURCHASED A 26 NOT a 23

If the MODS could change the title i would appreciate it :no1:

  4. Umm, in all reality, it's a handgun. It shoots like a handgun would shoot. It's not gona sting your hand or split your forehead open because of the massive recoil. You seem worried or squeemish about shooting one for some reason. Confidence is the key to shooting any gun no matter the caliber or type. After the first shot, you'll never be the same......

If you are worried about shooting the massive, hardcore .45ACP monster stopper, then maybe you need someone to hold your hand in the gun stores so they won't bite you through the glass. Their tuff and hard to tame for sure. You'll need lots of sleep and vitamins to keep your energy up as excited as you're gona be when you realize the granddaddy of all things handguns is sitting in your hands going bang!!! :P

not at all worried about shooting one. I have just never had the chance. I have owned glocks, taurus, s/w and keltec. Its not that i am unfamiliar with the 45. I just haven't shot one in the 1911 platform. I am wondering about the advantages of the 1911.....

  5. Well....its embarrassing but i have never fired a 1911. Although i feel my age and lack of military training might be the reason, i dont think this is a valid excuse.

Personally, i know very little outside of the history of the gun. Can anyone fill me in on the basics so WHEN i get to fire one i have a idea of what i am doing. Again, rookie question of the decade. I just grew up with tubberware. I have never had the extra coin to get a 1911 for range use. I cant carry one cause' i dont know ***** about it. So therefor i never owned one. :tough:;)

  6. I had a 2nd gen. I like it. Not something you want to take to the range and shoot a lot. It will damn near kill your hand :P

i found that a hollow point in the chamber and ball points in the mag was the way to go!

  7. Alright guys, its almost time for me to buy myself a early Christmas present.

I pretty much think i am looking for a gun that doesnt exist but.....humor me with any suggestions you might have.

    -9mm, .40 or .45

    -manual safety

    -Double action

-I would prefer single stack. This is why; i want to find something i can carry OWB without wearing "guy with gun "clothes.

-Under $800 (well.....if you think of something that might work i could MAYBE go a little more :))

    Thanks for the help.

    Ben
