  1. might want to try this; it seemed to help me a lot

go buy a "fake round" (not sure of the technical name but they are avalible at most shooting stores.) Mix 2 or 3 of these guys in your magazine while you are at the range. It WILL expose any issues you have. If you are pushing/pulling/etc you will be able to tell because you will still be anticipating the recoil.

  2. So it IS legal to carry a handgun in the car without a HCP if you have mag in glovebox and gun in the trunk? Just want to verify so i wont get into deep ****.

correct. I don't know if it is "required" but i would clear ammunition out of the magazine just to be on the safe side

    or.......get the HCP :tough:

  3. IMHO, Tennessee HCP records are irrelevent in such an argument. If the debate is over guns in general, the correct statistics are the number of guns owners in the country as a whole. Correlate that with the number of fatal instances of a gun being used by law-abiding citizens.

You may find that it's more deadly to get into your car and drive to work.

BTW, I've been through this. When an anti-gunner's mind is made up, you can argue until you're blue in the face. Same goes for conservative vs. liberal, etc.

    Just take'em out shooting!

i would love to have those numbers :):)

  4. ok since no one wants to beleive i have a legit reason.....someone showed me this page and said "see....there is no excuse for this!!!" Well the guy followed the rules. I want to show this idiot just how many HCP holders there are in this state. Hell, he was standing next to me not knowing i was carrying (i dont broadcast). I just need some facts to back up my argument (Gun Carried Into Dem Congressman's Town Hall -- But Did Not Pose Any Threat | TPMDC)

  5. I frequent another forum on the internet quite often (Bass boat central.). Its a great website and i suggest any of you bass fishermen check it out......but moving on.

This thread was started today. I believe it to be typical internet bs. I responded to the topic to the best of my knowlege. Anyone have anything to add or take away from the thread? Tell me that this cant be legit :screwy:.....

I figure if you shoot someone in the back 6 times you a$$ is gonna be doing some hard time. I am i off base here?

  6. Nope, never shot a hole in my boat or any other for that matter. I did however fail to place the drain plug my boat one day while launching on the Clinch. I've owned boats most of my adult life and never did anything that dumb before but on that day, with my former wife bitchin' at me about everything from the temp. to the fact that the rear seat on the passenger side wouldn't recline quite enough to suit her very specific needs, I just didn't have my head in the game and left the plug in it's place in the boat's glove box. I launched, tied up to the dock and went to park the truck. When I returned to the dock, I clearly remember hearing my youngest son saying "dad, there's some water in the boat." I ran to the boat, peered in and to my horror saw the water rising fast. Coolers were beginning to float and when I jumped into the boat I couldn't seem to get my key into the glove box fast enough. I ripped the door off the glove box, grabbed the plug and got it into place when the water was only about a 1/2 inch from coming over the transom. Boy did I feel dumb. All I could think of were the bucks it would cost to refurb the motor after it was flooded with lake water and of course the headline in the local paper that would read something like, Local Boater Gets Sinking Feeling. :wall:

BTW, I no longer have that wife or that boat. Life is good.

    two words....Bilge pump :snore:

  7. At Abu Ghraib, they BEAT MEN TO DEATH. They did much more that strip them down and make them form pyramids. Rumsfeld and Obama BOTH agree that certain pictures taken of tortured suspects should not be released to the public Now I wonder why that is? If they are guilty...put them on trial. That's the way its done in a society with any sense of morals.

    Link please :D

  8. Torture is NEVER EVER justified. EVER. It goes against EVERYTHING this nation stands for...and yes, waterboarding is torture. If you don't believe me I will gladly prove it to you.

so we cant make one terrorist "uncomfortable" to save thousands of lives. If it was your family you would feel different

Oh and take if from me..some of our "special forces" take on more in training than these criminals do. Go graduate from army ranger school and get back to me

  9. Well i have the treo' (windows version) I love it. I have treated it like garbage for the last 4 years. I FINALLY managed to crack the touch screen. The nice thing about the treo is every function can be done via touch screen OR keypad. I love this phone and i cant throw anything at it that it cant handle, IM with any questions

  10. I work for a Global company here locally in TN and had the same question. I contacted our local HR person to see if there were any rules against carrying. There was nothing mentioned in the employee handbook that I signed about this, but after about a week I finally got a response. She said she was uncertain and had to ask elsewhere to get the info. She advised that our company has a strict no carry rule...not even allowed to be locked in your car in the parking lot. Results...Termination if found carrying. My question is, if it's not stated in the Employee Handbook, HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW???????:D

if your "local branch" didn't even know that it was against the rules then how woudl they enforce them

  11. I can't believe somebody is asking this question. You are going to work for a company, you are bound by their rules. If you feel the rules are illegal or unfair, don't work for the company! There is no consitutional right for any of us to work for any company! If emphasizing your 2dA rights is that important to you, I think you better acquire independent wealth real quick or learn to go without eating. My rights are important to me, but feeding my family and keeping my job ranked up there in first place! I spent 30 years on active duty in the Marine Corps and every base I was ever on was a "gun free" zone, unless you were on duty and in the work area. I then spent 18 years teaching High School and you know the rules there. I'm retired now, but I still follow "group" rules wherever I am.

sorry i asked. i realize that i am new here and i am also new to having my permit. I just wanted to verify the rules in this situation. I am not trying to go against the rules or challenge company policy. I had heard of a bill that was presented which would make these laws illegal in TN (has they are in many other states.) Just trying to learn and get the rules right :D
