  1. I plan on attending and been waiting all winter!!! COOP
  2. Thanks all and I was using FMJ data for the plated RN so I guess I loaded on the HIGH side... NEWB!! I loaded some more today and lowered my Titegroup recipe to 4.0 grns. and lessoned the crimp just a hair, still seemed like a hot load but then my arm is bothering me today from tennis elbow (shooters elbow) I'm also lowering my Unique recipe to 5.2 grns. Thanks for all the advice and anybody have a Sig P220 full stainless they want to shoot some hot loads with? Meet me at the range!!! LOL. COOP
  3. So I loaded (for the first time) 300 rnds of .45 acp (150 of each) today and test fired both recipes and they both seemed to be STRONG rounds? Here's my recipes. 1. Winchester once fired cartridges, Winchester large pistol primers, Berry plated 230 grn. bullets, Unique 6.0 grns of powder = 800 FPS. 1.270 COAL 2. Winchester once fired cartridges, Winchester large pistol primers, Berry plated 230 grn. bullets, Titegroup 4.8 grns of powder = approx 800 FPS. 1.270 COAL All shot from my RIA full size 1911!!!! On to my question, yesterday I was shooting 230 grn. WWB with my boss and the load seemed really soft and smooth, today both these loads seemed very strong which is the opposite of the 9mm I been loading which ALL seemed softer that the factory loads so what gives? I already decided to down load my loads in both powders to around 750 FPS but my understanding was the factories loaded on the high side?. Mind you I'm a newby and have been reading a lot and practicing safe reloading.... Thanks all... COOP
  4. Hey thanks for the quick reply, and that answered my question so on to reloading .45. Again thanks and Happy Easter!!!! COOP
  5. Hey guys, Happy Easter!!! So I'm in the garage setting up my Dillon 550 to load .45 ACP for the first time and I just noticed my seating die doesn't have the normal insert inside it like my newer 9mm dies, I bought these used from a older gent on GOC, I did try to crimp and it seems OK? But since I'm new to reloading I just wanted to ask the experts, did the older dies NOT have in removable insert for cleaning? Thanks for the help!!! COOP

    ruger p345

I had one and it seemed like a good gun but I sold it for a very low price and wished I still had it, the gun seemed big but I could shoot it quite well, ran lots of WWB through it with no issues but never tried HP'S!!!! COOP
  7. Thanks Todd!! COOP
  8. Unlike the GSSF program, you order right from the factory, I did the same with about $100 worth of parts and it took 4 weeks so I'm hoping ordering a pistol will be quicker? On the pricing, I believe it's the same as LEO and GSSF. COOP
  9. Magic, my P228 was the (fair) condition and had a LOT of holster wear, so one weekend I was bored so I stripped the finish on the slide and all the controls, and proceeded to polish it all by hand and on my buffing wheel so no actual finish on anything but the frame, it never rusts and is handled and shot all the time. I would be willing to do the same to one of your P220's if you want just send me a PM and we'll talk!!! COOP
  10. Hey all, just wanted to update all of you that Dans ammo recieved a batch of Swiss police P228 trade in's yesterday and has them up for sale on his site, one of the grades have already sold out so if your looking for one of the arguably best 9mm ever made take a look at his web site. My P228 Swiss police trade in I bought last year is by far my Favorite Sig and will be in my family for a long time!!! COOP SIG PORN!!!
  11. All my GLOCKS are Todd's fault after he let me use one of his GLOCKS during one of the CIS courses, Thanks a lot Todd!!!!! LOL. COOP
  12. This concerns me just a little, I have a G19 and have made a few mods to make it MINE, I also just ordered a G17 gen 4 from the factory through my armorer's purchase program and it should be here in a few days. I also plan a few mods to make it MINE and hope to shoot IDPA with it this summer. I have absolute confidence that my new G17 will be 100% reliable!!! COOP
  13. I' looking for a Eotech 512, where is the best prices on line for this site? Thanks all!!!!! COOP

  18. So I picked up a new full size RIA 1911 last week and I want to replace the factory grips, the model I have has the extended beavertail and better sights and basic packerized color, I'd like to go with some black grips that don't cost a fortune and have some traction to them. Who has some suggestions or ideas? Thanks!!!! COOP

That is a real beauty KANO.... I just bought a RIA yesterday but not even in the same universe as your Baer!!!!!! COOP
  20. I did but the Enos scale and really like it but I'm just a beginner.... COOP
  21. Thanks for the info, I ended up with a OAL of 1.100 and 5.0 grns of Unique and they seem fine, loading long to reduce pressures helps accuracy? I did buy another reloading book so I have some additional info. COOP
  22. I'm all set up and ready to reload, I'm using 115 gr TMJ/FMJ bullets and my Lyman's 49th edition doesn't have a recipe for this load, it does have it in JHP but I need a good OAL recipe for FMJ, I know I need to buy another book but does anybody have there book close they can give me a recipie for 115 gr using Unique powder and the OAL? Thanks COOP

    P229 DAK .357 Sig

I have a Sig P226 in .357 Sig and it is a handfull in that calliber in a full size frame so I can only imagine a compact in .357 is going be really tough to handle, that calliber is a great defensive weapon BUT? Hey I'm just saying!!!! Have you shot a P228/P229 in 9mm? Much easier to handle/operate and be accurate... COOP
  24. A Glock is a COMBAT GUN!!!!! I am a Glock armorer and when you go to the armorers class you will also understand, on my EDC, a Glock 19 and have I modified it? Yes, it has a Lone Wolf lighter recoil spring, 15 lbs, a extended slide release and a extended mag catch, XS big dot sights, and a 4.5 LE connector and thats it. IMHO the flame and stuff is over kill unless you like it but I carry concealed and I don't care how it looks. After you armorers course you may change you mind so wait for the modification's until your class then make your decisions..... If you have any questions PM me. BTY, I ordered a new Glock 17 gen 4 today to use for IDPA and GSSF, and it will be slightly modified but no flames..... COOP
  25. Rob, I'm signed up and I'll see you tomorrow!!!!! COOP
