Congratulations on the new job. By becoming a municipal employee you should have a pretty secure position along with a decent at least or good at best benefit package. There is also another factor that you may benefit from. In the future you'll be eligable for other City positions. We have two persons in our department that originally were 911 dispatchers. One is now an admin. asst. and the other is an engineering tech. and the both have over 15 years with the City.

Don't know if the circumstance is applicable but a few weeks ago my router completely failed. While I was on the phone with Comcast tech doing process of elimination to figure out if the cable, modum or router was the problem I was advised by Comcast that after the router failure Comcast would have to reset the modum remotely.
