  1. I’ve never built an ar in anything but 5.56. My understanding was that all the AR caliber lowers were exactly the same , except a few oddballs like 9mm.

So I got an email from PSA and it’s advertising 6.5 creedmore lowers, 5.56 lowers and this new Valkyrie Lower. All appear to be exactly the same but all different prices and labeled as their own thing.

    I need some edumacation.

The Commercial Appeal got in on the action as well. They’re both Gannett papers so I imagine that it was the same database with the different masthead slapped on the top depending on which link you followed to it.

Yes, it was all of the newspapers flying under their banner. A joint venture.

Here's a Waffle House shooting that occurred on Thursday, April 19th that none of us heard anything about...

    NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -
New Orleans police have arrested a subject in connection with a Third District armed robbery.

Ernest Thomas. 19, is charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery that occurred in the 2900 block of Elysian Fields.

Thursday night, two men entered the Waffle House restaurant located in the armed with semiautomatic handguns.

One man jumped on the counter and demanded money from the cashier. The perpetrator took $8 dollars from a customer.

Thomas stood on the side by the counter covering the staff and serving as a lookout, police said. A customer who was armed with his personal firearm drew his weapon as the perpetrator approached, then ran from the scene.

Thomas turned toward the armed customer and pointed his weapon at the customer. The customer fired several times and Thomas fled from the business, police said.

The armed customer informed the detectives he believed he shot the subject.  The witnesses saw the subjects flee in a white Chrysler south on Elysian Fields Ave.

Detectives located a blood trail outside the business to the area where the waiting car had been parked. Detectives alerted local hospitals for any recent gunshot victims.

A short time later, detectives learned a someone with several gunshot wounds to the back and arm had been dropped off on the emergency ramp at University Medical Center. Officers determined the man who was shot was Thomas.

Detectives recovered the suspect’s bloody pants and sneakers which matched the description of the perpetrator.

Hospital security footage showed a white Chrysler which matched the description of the perpetrators vehicle pull on to the ramp at a high rate of speed and the suspect exiting the vehicle and walking into the emergency room.

The subject had been shot in the lower back, hip, and arm. Detectives checked with NOPD dispatch there had been no reports of gunshots in the city for the time period.

The investigation remains open and active. More charges may be filed against Thomas.

Which points to my earlier post. Armed citizens will never get treated like a hero by the media .

  4. I will say that CTD and midway lost my business during that time . They jacked up their prices and discontinued their discount programs, respectively  . Now they are begging for my business . I do not forget!!!!

As for political donations from RIA and Springfield, I could likely be accused of the same thing . I have , at various times been a member of organizations that ended donating money to people and organizations I did not/do not support. As soon as I realized , I withdrew . However, if someone wanted to write and article about me or make a political ad, they’d likely use that to “prove” that I suck .

Yes, they did, at least in West Knoxville they did. I went to check and see if they really did hide them and asked at the counter to see an AR.

Well, your experience is different than mine. I’ve never had any problem at Academy or with any of their policies. When ammunition was nearly impossible to find, academy still kept the prices cheap and kept as much available as possible. I’m not 100% sure I trust all of the sources  Of the links you shared. However, you have your reasons for believing that you do and I respect that.Of the links you shared. However, you have your reasons for believing that you do and I respect that.

Sure, it's less than 2-years old and they put them back on the shelf. They do PC both ways.

Hell, they didn’t have rifles to put on shelves at that time . Nobody did .

    Illegal.

    Illegal.

But the government punishing kids for living their own lives in a legal manner apparently is not....assuming there was some kind of adult present in this “family outing”.

And if the school board is found to have broken the law , no actual penalty will be paid .  This is why government officials are always so loose in interpreting the law . Even things they think are likely illegal won’t require them to suffer a penalty if found to be so and they might get lucky , so why not ?

I don't know about all folks here but I have a problem with the authorities in most, not all but most of the mass shootings. At one time or another the shooters have been involved with the law be it local law enforcement all the way up the ladder in this case to the Secret Service and they all have admitted to having enteractions in some form or fashion that should have or would have prevented some not all of the mass shootings but in each case someone dropped the bal and didn't complete croassing all the T's and dotting all the i's that would have prevented maany not all of these shootings. In this case there were even doctors involved in this case that supposedly examined this shooter which clearly had major mental issues that turmed him normal and released him. Whether that was because of his wealthy fathers influence or just a stupid doctor that needs his license to practice his profession because he / she is cleaarly not a professional at their, job but an idiot. .......most all is JMHO

This is one of the problems. At what point do you deny someone a constitutional right for the rest of their life? It’s really easy to say “ he had an interaction with the police , take them away “. Does that mean any and all interactions with police remove constitutional requirements rights ? Traffic stop ??? What about a cop who you pissed off? Can he interact with you and have your rights revoked indefinitely?

Mental health is another slippery slope . What point is someone considered so mentally ill they no longer can ever have rights ? Even psychiatrists don’t know the answer to this question. They have people with mental illness get better all the time . How do they decide which patients will never get better ? Are they now the final arbiters of constitutional rights ?

These are very difficult questions to answer even though the knee jerk reaction is as stated above .

  9. James Shaw Jr is getting a lot of love and attention from a lot of people right now, as he should be.
What I am wondering is, would he be getting the same love and attention from the national media if he had a carry permit and pulled his gun and shot the dude instead of disarming him.

Considering that the usher at Barnett Chaple church did just that , I’d say no. Definitely a difference in the way they’ve been covered. The church shooting didn’t fit the narrative, so it was largely ignored, relatively speaking.

  10. I don't see why he was given any bond what so ever in the first place!!!!!! It should have been Held without bond period!!!!!!!...............NOT MHO on this one

Only capital cases are held without bond . The DA should have specified that in the beginning that this was potentially a capital case .

  11. The preps father gave him guns after he had been voided from owning firearms.
Dad's butt is going to be hurting after the feds and possible civil suits hit him!

Evidently this dude’s family is very wealthy. Between lawyers fees and civil suits, this will likely cease to be the case.
