Do I really need to explain how Karma works?  When you do bad things to others (like using shady sales tactics) eventually bad things come back to bite you in the ass.   I think you guys are putting a little too much though into my original comments.

Yup , shady sales tactics , dirty deals and rejoicing in misfortune all have karma . Ways of the world.

Unfortunately they’ve got to have the cases to take up before they can render an opinion.  That really didn’t start happening until the Black Panthers started toting around weapons in the ‘60s causing a lot of state legislatures to freak out accordingly.

While you can count the cases before Heller regarding the Second Amendment or mentioning the Second Amendment on two hand - some of the decisions are interesting in what they say.  For example, while the Dred Scott decision regarded the descendants of slaves inferior when it came to standing with the Court, it did imply in its decision that all free men could "keep and carry arms wherever they went."

You get a couple of post Civil War cases regarding the rights of former slaves.  Interestingly Presser vs. Illinois in 1886 restricts the right to assemble as a militia while respecting the individual right to bear arms.  You get a post-NFA case in 1939. But there's just not a lot before Heller.

Here is a decent listing of the cases and summaries:

The other thing is that the SCOTUS doesn’t generally grant cert. until there are two conflicting rulings from two different courts of appeal that could cause the same law to treat citizens differently in different parts of the country . The supremes will generally allow law to be interpreted badly as long as it’s interpreted badly for everyone.

Armslist shows a blued 3" EAA for $300 in Knoxville.

If the budget is under $500 and it has to be .357 (instead of. 38 Special), then your best bet is finding a Charter, Rossi, or EAA at a pawn shop.

Academy usually does a charter full sized .357 door buster every Black Friday . My brother got one a few years back for almost nothing .

A lot of the old .308 semiauto 760s got trashed from overtravel of the bolt peening the rails on the receiver.  They were good for about 1000 rounds before he problem usually presented - more than most hunters would ever shoot.  If I recall correctly, Remington eventually ended up recalling all of them.

One of the fixes was to close of the gas block and trade out the semi parts for pump parts - I forget that model designation.

It would be a project, but yeah. It seems like sleeving a .308 barrel and cutting a new chamber for .22 Hornet would be easy enough.  Who knows if you could modify the magazine/feeding mechanism appropriately.  It’s been a while since I’ve put my hands on a .22 Hornet round.

Really this whole thought was predicated on the fact that there are a bunch of junked 760s out there that could probably be had cheap.

A cursory glance on GB shows a few but all converted to pump and they want in the $600 range . Don’t see any junkers anywhere

I have never had that issue with ammo or brass but I have had that issue many times with soft plastic fishing baits before a tournment. I will buy or make a couple 100 of a baits when I have 200 already in the boat...............

I’ve just finally decided I’m too old to keep all the stuff I “thought I was gonna get into “, anymore .

    True this!

I have some old Old Hickory kitchen knives I've has since the late 70's and they get razor sharp extremely easily. Minimal effort on my part. I have to make sure we have band-aids in the kitchen for my wife, and warn her, when I sharpen them.

I picked up a couple of additional Old Hickory's about 8-9 years ago, and while decent knives, they don't hold a candle to my earlier versions.

Jab...I agree, stainless steel Old Hickory's are a blasphemous proposition. But your analogy is a bit troubling... ;)

Not as troubling as if it were his old boyfriend Bill, who now goes by Evelyn and he has a date with “her” this Saturday night.

All previous shows there have sucked. I'm not going to another until I hear a different report.

Sparta usually has a good show as does Cave City, Kentucky. I don't know why the NASHVILLE area can't have a decent show.

I remember tgo did one several years ago in conjunction with Hero Gear. But it was in Winchester . “You can’t hardly get there from here” , as the old folks used to say .

Yes. They are very good to deal with. Bought way too much from them over the last 8/10 years. lol

Everything from ammo and parts to complete rifles and pistols.

I don't hesitate to purchase from them.

Being so cheap made me a little nervous.

    Caetano opinion (2016)

Reaffirmed Heller/McDonald allows ownership of weapons in common use “today” and reprimanding Massachusetts Supreme Court for denying Heller by allowing a conviction of a woman who used a stun gun against a domestic abuser which was unlawful in Massachusetts because it was “not invented in 1789” - an argument the court in Heller found “bordering on frivolous”. Particularly relevant today since the same Massachusetts supreme court followed the same line of arguments to uphold the state “assault weapons ban”. Expect it to be overturned on appeal for the same reasons as Caetano.

Meh, it's not a better mousetrap.

Other than being able to feed out of a standard AR mag, I see no advantage over a .22-250

Anyone remember the .223 WSSM? It's reminding me of that. It'll be the best thing in the history of EVAH until once again, everyone realises it isn't.

I might have had a 30-378 weatherby mag, at one point . Ask me if I still do ? That rifle taught me a lot about getting excited about theoretical ballistics, so I guess it served its purpose.

In the long run it might work out.

But, empire is hard.  And so is freedom.  We’ve ceded way too much to the federal government.  Put another way - all of us depend on the government for too much.

It could very well lead to a break up of the Union.  In the near to midterm if would be quite painful - likely causing a depressions nationally and globally.

We survived long before wickard and we could do it again. The problem is the weaning from the teat.

Well I know this was said in jest, I would also say that the amount of truth contained it is significant. Not about Scalia, of course. If Wickard were to fall I would say conservatively it would unravel a solid 30-50% of the federal government, if not more.

    And this is bad ?

She's 85, so it's certainly a possibility.  But, she's had both colon cancer and pancreatic cancer and is still going strong - so she's about as tough as they come.

Heller and McDonald would be hard to undue - especially the longer they are on the books.  But, the Supreme Court has signaled that it is open to reasonable restrictions.  I hate to poke the hornet's nest when it doesn't need poking.

The wickard case has been on the books for nearly a century . Scalia had hinted that he wanted a crack at it before his demise, but the conservatives have been Leery about overturning long held precedents. The left leaning justices have shown no such hesitation in such .

I'm cheap, I bought some chartreuse fluorescent paint, cleaned the sight with alcohol, and used a toothpick to insert paint into the sight dots.  Not exactly night sights, but greatly improved the sight visibility in low light and daylight conditions.  Total darkness not so much.

I’m gonna outline the front dot with orange fluorescent paint like me trijicon HD sites . Not worth spending that much on sites for an 82
