  1. Did a little looking around and could not find anything about this. How prepared are you mentally for personal defense. Whether it is with your weapon, hands or any other defense weapon. When I was in martial arts teaching self defense yearssss ago and a lot younger, we taught an elevated code threat mentality green safe, yellow caution, red danger, etc. Does being a CCW make you more relaxed about this or more aware. And I am not talking about BOB, SHTF, just every day to day living out and about stuff. Also as an afterthought does the holidays make you think about it more so.

This is a great discussion. I have found that when carrying I have a tendency to be more relaxed than perhaps I should. I dont know if its the extra feeling of security knowing that I'm carrying or what - but I feel more confident and secure when I carry and I wonder if thats a bad thing or not.

I need to work on my situational awareness even more, now that I'm armed, than before.

  2. TNT,

Thats where I get my bullets also in MJ , a little higher than on line but I can have them in my hand and be home reloading in 15 mins. I read on TGO that the wait from Zero was not as long as they post on line, I might give them a try just to see if it's 6 + weeks wait time. SS

post back when you get yours.

  3. Where is it showing? I can't find it in Memphis or Nashville.

yikes - maybe the SHTF with the distribution company?! read below

    Dear Members of the Press,

The Weinstein Company has decided to do a roll out release pattern of THE ROAD and it will no longer be opening on 11/25/09 in your market. LINK

Looks like it wont be released in TN anytime soon... :drama:

Heres a list of the release markets: "THE ROAD" CITIES

  4. If a family member which you have carried around for 10+ years, all of the sudden says they are not comfortable with you carrying in their house. I have been a hcp holder for over 10 years and been around this family member alot...this is a sibling not a distant relative of any kind. I do believe he has that right to ask anyone not to have a weapon in his home and I could really understand if I was doing anything unsafe but it was concealed and could NOT have been seen, but why would you say this after being around it for 10 years

Yup. Its HIS home, not yours. He can request everyone wear tie-died fake afros in HIS home if he likes. You don't HAVE to be there.

I would politely discuss with him WHY you carry and let him know that its really important for you to carry wherever you are. If he tells you to get bent, then you either need to stop going over there or lock it in the car when you visit and respect his wishes when in HIS home.

  5. Rotten Tomatoes gave it 70% which is pretty frikkin high for RT. It may not do the book justice, but as a film goes - its supposedly pretty solid. I'm going to see it later today maybe.

  6. turkey n gravy, cornbread dressing, oyster dressing, praline sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, squash casserole, cranberry mold, deviled eggs, caesar salad, sister schubert rolls, gewurztraminer, riesling, vandermint.. .. and pumpkin cobbler for desert! mmm. im thankful! :)
