  1. about a year ago they had .45 blazer brass on sale for $6 a box I got about 1800 rounds shot it all and had no troubles.
  2. Go with the Lyman best on the market for the price. Just remember on this kind of rifle the first 20 are so rounds will shoot good then it will open up a lot. then around about 100 to a 120 rounds it will tighten up then you are ready. I have had Lyman plains that after 150 rounds will keep it on a 10" plate at 200 yards.
  3. I quit May 21 1998, 2 days after my sister died and 2 months after my wife left me. the good news my wife came back and my sister is with Christ. I do plan to start smoking again when cigarettes go back to 55 cent a pack.
  4. I have one for sale but I don't have a book on it. Come to think of it you will probably not find one because the military did not officially make them. They built about 30 are 40 and dropped the idea so it never really went into production.
  5. MMMMMMM Uberti

  7. I have a coonhound that showed up on my front porch the other day in the Spring Hill area. I took hem out and he seems to be well trained. I have asked around the area and no one has ever seem him before. If anyone knows someone who lost one send me a email. Donald
  8. Welcome DRM I've lived in Spring Hill For about 8 years. I know some people in the hill that give CCW classes.
  9. My 23 must be broken it just shoots the bullet out
  10. The ruger is a .45 not a .44 like most BP so the round balls will be .457. I have a copy of a Walker that uses .457. I found the ruger to be heavy if you spend a little more you can get a Uberti that will last you forever and be a little lighter Mark Baker wrote a book about 10 years ago that will tell you anything you want to know about BP. you can probably get a hold of him through Muzzleloader magazine. The one thing you want to remember is to pop a cap in each cylinder before you load the gun unless you have just shot it.

  13. The bolt could be messed up are the cylinder. but most of the time it is the bolt. http://www.coltparts.com/pt_61navy.html #4 Most of the old CVA, Dixie, and other cheep ones did not care about the metal they used. the bolts would round off where it would grab the cylinder.
  14. Serious as can be.
  15. You could hollow out the grip and put a stapler in it so when you shoot it the bolt will make it staple something. No No even better when you shoot it the bolt will crack walnuts. Paint it red and green and it is a Christmas gift better than fruitcake.
  16. The only thing i ever use it on is after I blue a gun I will soak it in wd40 for about a month. It will really set the color in and give you a stronger finish.
