    Synthetic gas? Tell us more.

It's literally synthetic gas. It will last for years in a sealed container. I can't remember the exact time, but it's like 7-8 years sealed....2 ish sitting in your tank. We looked at getting 100 gal at a time for small generators, but we ran through gas so fast it didn't justify the cost. It's not inexpensive.

The usefulness of tritium sights is heavily influenced by usage. For a SHTF style rifle intended to be used in near total darkness, they work wonderfully.  But in most self defense usages, they are frankly unnecessary (this is a fairly new opinion of mine, BTW). If it is so dark you cant see your sights, how can you Identify your target? As mentioned above, if used in conjunction with a WML, your sights will work without the tritium due to the throw of the light.

You're not wrong, but the the same argument can be made about red dots. The red dots do adjust for light conditions. I've been running thermals on ARs for the last 5 years or so and I'm trying to put a less tech reliant option. In no light the flashlight is a 100% must, however there are different degrees of darkness.

You can get a 9mm end cap, a nice oven mitt and some teflon tape.  I have a few pistol suppressors and every one of them back off the threaded barrels.  Just recently read you can use teflon tape to keep it on, so next time I go out to our farm I'll try it out.

It happens until the barrel shoulder is sufficiently peened. They don't like that dirty little secret, but that's what happens.

Thats just kinda the deal with them. The MRO ain’t a great product. I think folks talk themselves into liking it because of it being a Trijicon.

The Eotech is a bit boxy, but it probably has the least parallax. I had a $99 pos that was fantastic, but it needed to be turned on manually.

    What did you get?

I run a XS csat rear which is notched above the distance aperture like a pistol sight and lots of front sight options: xs big dot , Chinese chevron, meprolite. Prefer the notch for close targets.
also fond of primary arms micro prism except the China production.  Without illumination the etched reticle is easy to find with forward throwing light. Dead battery in sight doesn’t matter unlike a red dot.

Trijicon mro. Horrible parallax. 18.5 moa at 100 yards. That was the replacement. The original had 18 moa of parallax.

Ill buy the tickets if you decide not to go. They were awesome at the Ryman last year.

He's one of the best front men ever. My Wife has never experienced a concert where you could have a conversation with the band during the concert.  LOL.

@deerslayerhas the right of it. Things happen in shipment and that’s what the insurance is for. SG ate whatever they weren’t able to recoup from UPS. Additionally, anything firearms related has a higher than average risk of not making it to its final destination.

Many of us are used to dealing with big companies who have shipping shrink factored into pricing. Smaller outfits usually can’t afford to repeatedly eat those kinds of losses. SG did you a solid in the name of good customer service, but they weren’t obligated to in my eyes since the insurance was an available option.

Whenever I’ve shipped or had shipped high dollar items, I always spring for the full insurance amount. (You should see what it is on a $10k NVG package!)

In the future, I’d highly recommend springing for the insurance. It’s cheap piece of mind.

I've spent over $100 on overnight shipping for things that are sensitive.

As for my ex-wife she got what she deserved. She got to see the other side of her guy after they said I DO!!!! He used he for a punching bag. Got her pregnant and still punched he until I put a stop to it. He made the mistake of punching my son Ronnie and his wife dragged him out of the house and they left. The only reason he went down to their house was to ask the guy to quit beating his mother so he said ok and punched Ronnie. Tammy, Ronnie's wife could not wait to tell me what happened. She knew I would deal with it. I did.

    Good job. I......well....I can't comment.

I think I did,  hope I did. When my wife learned that she was going to be a grandmother at 32 she denied that it was Doug jr's and would not have anything to do with him and when I would not deny the baby was Doug's she left me and the boys and took up with a man 5 years younger than her and would not have anything to do with me or her two sons or her grandson. She said to  she was to young to be a grand mother. We got  a    divorced and about 5 months later she married the young man. She would not have anything to do with Ronnie her youngest son and his family either. Let me mention also that my son Doug was in the hospital in a coma from his accident when she walked out on us also. There is a lot more but that should be enough to give you some idea of what my life was like after Doug's accident.

    I'm so sorry.

Not going to lie I would spend the $100 from the night sight budget (plus a little more) on a decent red dot.  Shooting with irons at night is going to be tough, even tougher at 100-150 yards.  In order to get positive ID out that far you're going to need a good white light so you're already in $150-ish minimum there (Streamlight HLX).  I tend to lean toward if you can't see your sights how can you see your target?  If it is just for quicker sight acquisition I think a dab of paint would get you the same result.

Well to be fair, I'll be shooting 100-150 during the day. At night we are talking about the lingth of my living room or house with a light on the gun. 11 years is a long time before the front sight goes dim. I have really bad luck with red dots and it didn’t really matter how much I spend. 😅

  11. I'm doing this on a 11.5" 5.56 upper for my SBR lower. I'll probably get a lower and form 1 it too so I'm not going back and forth on the same lower. It's going to be a 100-150 gun. Trying to see if I can get away without using a red dot. I've done a bit of shooting in the dark with a flashlight, but I'm getting older. LOL

Tell your wife she has to get the your buddys wife to go or she can not.

    I like this, thanks.

They have been around since I was in college. Their sound has changed over the last 30 years, so depending on what era....

If they see kids at the concert, they will forbid cursing. I've seen them exit the stage to give kids drumsticks, picks, and song list that's taped the the floor. I've seen them have a respectful discussion asking someone not to curse because kids are around. Some of the early music has drug references, but they will stop the world to make a kids day.
