  1. +1 i carry both my kel tec pf9 and p3at with the clip. Ways to carry what you carry sort of fall into this discussion so.... i'm 5'4" 160 lbs in the summer when i'm working outside (i have a lawn mowing business and get pretty sweaty) i carry the g27 or pf9 in comp tac pro under cover kydex iwb holsters. if i'm not going to get sweaty sometimes the g27 ends up in a leather hd iwb from the holster store (prints a little less than the kydex) or the clip on the pf9. if i have to tuck in my shirt i'll have the p3at in my pocket or sometimes but rarely the g27 or pf9 are in a modified pro tech ankle holster.
  2. you guys are making my cheap tuperware kel tec p3at sound good.
  3. like adamween said. if there's not some one there that can help you they'll know somebody
  4. the original post is a bit old but i recently had a bad experience with shark tac and they will not answer emails nor do they post a phone number. My recomendations from personal experience are for kydex go with comp tac and for leather go with the holster store. i've ordered multiple times from both and will order again
  5. kel tec pf9 is my suggestion. i'm 5'4" 160 lbs. i usually have the pf9 or the glock 27 on me iwb. i also have a p3at same size as ruger lcp but the pf9 is really a great size and it's a 9mm.
  6. excellent choice. the getting bored with it's reliability is very true. my 27 always works i find my 1911 and kel tecs much more fun at the range.
  7. yes sand it well and get any flaking paint off. sand painted and bare surfaces that you want to paint. scotch bright pads work well for the sanding part. then clean it really well with rubbing alcohol. spray it black. i wouldn't worry about getting all the old paint off but it's up to ya.
  8. the rifle pictured in the rattle can camo link was done with the ultra flat camo krylon or duplicolor (don't remember who makes it) that wally world carries. just remember the key is the prep work; clean well, scuff well, and clean really well again before painting. It is paint so it will scratch off if you scratch it hard enough. the rifle in the pic has been dragged around alot and the paint is still in great shape.

    Glocks

you don't like glocks for main reason i do. When i pull the trigger it goes bang. A safety switch on a glock might fool a BG unless they have been around other hand guns. Then the switch on the left of the slide by your thumb might slow em down a little. i apologize for sounding like a smart butt i just can't think of a tactful way to say that. seems like i read some where in here you have 5 0r 6 glocks. you could sell one and put the aftermarket external safetys on the rest of em. As for mine i do not want the extra switch. Pull glock, pull trigger, bang i like the KISS method glock has going. if the BG has your gun your pretty much screwed just about any way you look at it unless it's empty and you threw it at him for good measure.
  11. the comments are highly appreciated. thanks

    Glocks

i actually like the xd more than glock and there is probably a full size xd in my future. i got a g27 to carry it's little smaller. when it comes down to it the are a toss up in quality imo
  13. I'm not gonna get into the animal behavior dispute. I'm an American Pit Bull nut and can go on and on. If you don't have one in the chamber it can either be used as a hammer or you can throw it at the attacker. With out one in the chamber you might as well not have the mag in it either so if you don't throw it hard enough the attacker your hammer can't be used against you like a gun either.

    WADDAYATHANK?

rattle can camo here ya go http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/31809-rattle-can-camo.html#post414261
  15. due to some request from a pic i put in another forum here's my DIY rattle can camo job supplies: camo spray paint, green scotch bright pad, tape, rubbing alcohol, tin card board (shoe box works well see pic below) cut into random strips 1/8"-3/4" wide. wally world has a ultra flat krylon that comes in a few different colors (tan, green, brown, black) 1) disassemble gun (leaving it together makes for a crappy looking job) 2) tape up anthing in your to be painted pile that doesn't need paint on it 3) clean the parts you want painted with rubbing alcohol 4) sand all parts with the scotch brite pad to a dull matte finish 5) clean everything again with rubbing alcohol 6) lay parts out 7) drop card board strips in random pattern onto the parts 8) grab your first color and paint (i like to start with the darkest color and end with the lightest) 9)let dry 10) pic up parts, rotate them, lay them back down 11) drop card board strips randomly on to the parts and paint 12) repeat steps 10-11 till all sides, top, and bottom are painted 1st color 13) repeat steps 6-13 untill all colors are used. 14) let dry 15) while it's apart lub what need lubing 16) reassemble strips finished product ENJOY

    WADDAYATHANK?

i got a remington 770 .243 youth model for just this purpose. zeroed in at 200 yds and longest shot so far was around 225ish. for the money this cheap gun is absolutly awesome. The camo job is rattle can and the scope is a cheap one center point brand i think.

    Glocks

????????? ok i'm interested why not?
  20. I like the kel tecs i have a PF9 and 3PAT. They're snappy little things to shoot. If you're not a tinkerer i can't recomend them. The Bersa will probably be better out of the box and feel better. the kel tecs are a little hit and miss but if you do have a problem i've heard their customer service is great but i have not needed it. i trust my glock i play with the kel tecs.

    Glocks

i carry a 27. one of my buds carrys a 21 on duty and another has a 26. For carry i choose 26 or 27. A lot of people whine about the stuby grip and sometimes i throw a mag in with the +1 grip extention but usually carry with the oem magazine. i have no probs being accurate with the stubby grip. I would like to get a full size but i think a 1911 is in my future before another glock.
  22. I've read some where that sig actually purchased the colt mustang tooling and just made a few changes to sigify it. Spotted one at a local gun shop a couple days ago the little thing definitly has a high drool factor.
  23. looking around for info, stumbled on this place and it looked like a fun place to play
