  1. been out for a while and bugs worked out. i havn't heard much negative on LCR.
  2. my glock 27 might have 75 down the pipe. I shoot the heck out of my rifles long range. but the shooting my handguns just doesn't turn me on like a 200yd rifle shot.
  3. i like the narrower cylinder on the LCR but i hate the grips. I kinda like the plastic revolver idea but untill they're proven i wont be getting one. the one gun i've got rid of that i wish i had kept was a taurus ultralite stainless.
  4. i had one for a few months. i got it for a steal with intentions of making a little off it. I ran about 3 mags through it for it's size it was very accurate; i could shoot a 6" group at 20 ft. i had no probs with it almost kept it and sold my p3at.
  5. well i carry iwb daily g27 and have no probs. i'm not exactly a porker anymore either. i changed the way i eat a few years back and am in the gym at least 4 days a week; run 2-3 miles and lift for a half hour. lost 30 lbs 3-4 years ago and not gaining it again.
  6. reliability. no failure to feed with a revolver. No worries on will this ammo feed right or did i chamber one.
  7. hmm i'm 5'4 160 lbs and carry glock 27. it's smaller and lighter than the xd sc and i have no probs carring it iwb. i don't have any probs with recoil either. if you don't like the 27 trade it to a 26 and put a pinky extension it, you should be able to find someone willing to trade even pretty easily. you could probably trade it even for an xd sc too if you're set on an xd.
  8. I had been wanting a 17 hmr for a while and stumbled up on a kel tec pf9 i got a great deal on and thought this is an excellent way to get my 17 hmr. So i traded the PF9 for this new marlin 917s and got a cheap used center point 4-18 x 40 scope. i have the same scope on a 243 and for the money they're great. did a little trigger work on it and went shootin yesterday. Pics are from a struggling cell phone. shooting from the rest thing in the above pic 25 yds shots at bottom are the first after bore sighting. cranked it up and over to drilling the bullseye. steped back to 120yds just to see. all 4 shots i was aiming at the red dot. wasn't to happy with the 2 that are way off but the 2 in the red made me do a little dance. ended up zeroing at about 100 yds and ran about 50 shots through it till it got to dark. This thing is a lot of fun to shoot. FYI for the 17 hmr people my findings were the 17gr vmax is much more accurate than the 17gr tnt and 20gr xtp out this thing.
  9. b if the perp here's the slid rack BG is lucky the first shot didn't kill em. hmm now that i think about it maybe they aren't that lucky. Someone breaks into my families place i switch to kill or be killed. signs it's not someone i know door kick in, breaking window. If i don't hear signs like that i am causious. I have a good friend that had some bad family troubles who also has a key to my house and is welcome to use it any time. he does send me text before coming over now.
  10. daves pawn shop in cookeville has a couple on the way.
  11. i forget how my grand father would have to tell me again but the Boones are in my ancestry. So heck ya i'm a fan. Did a presentation on the Boone history and ancestry in a college class.
  12. blasting it is by far the best method, it knocks out a few steps at one time. gets in the tight places well, preps the surface for what ever coating will be applied next, and you're not using chemicals that if a little is left behind can ruin the new coating
  13. it's amazing what you can find when you pull a part a used gun. I use a marine grade grease on my autos which a pastel green color. This stuff works great but raises eyebrows when someone pulls them apart. it is easy to see how dirty the grease is with this stuff. Before i sell one i clean it all out and just oil it so they don't ask questions or think something is wrong. Every used auto i've purchased i fire it a couple times then tear it down and give it complete cleaning. When you purchase a used auto always pull the slide off to inspect before handing over your hard earned green. Of course if you ever purchase a gun from me i'll let you know the exact condition of it and any known problems. Antiseeze is a new one to me.
  14. the gun doesn't really doesn't care where it's at or what the situation is. if you pull the trigger with one in the chamber it will go bang; that's the main reason i carry a g27. keep it in a pocket holster and put all ur other junk in another pocket. i envy people that can pocket carry the baby glocks. if you're big enough to pocket carry a baby glock i'm not messin with you anyway
  15. good question i've wondered this also. seems that the adjustability can not work as well as other lasers mount methods.
  16. i change up all the time depending on dress. g27 iwb leather, iwb kydex, owb paddle, owb leather. pf9 iwb clip or iwb kydex. P3AT iwb clip, iwb kydex, or front pocket holster. it's really better idea to stay with one and get good at drawing from that position. Also sometimes i take out what ever i'm carrying and put it in my jacket pocket so i can have a hand on it. when all is good it goes back to the usual place so the trigger is covered.
  17. i got mine used a couple months ago and ran 8 147 grain hydra shocks through it no prob. I've heard some pf9s don't eat these to well. i've heard nothing but good things about all hornady stuff and the pf9, just havn't got to try it.

    Holster ??

get the holster wet with water. Wrap gun in wax paper (wax side out) shove it in the holster and wear it a day or so. After it has dried to your liking i spray mine with some camp dry water proofer stuff (some say don't do the water proofer).
  19. yep the draw backs are the shorter gun makes the sights a little less forgiving and the shorter barrel reduce your velocity a bit. i've ended up ordering a spacer from agrisportsinc.com it looks a little different and is cheaper so we'll soon see. The a & g ones work there just wasn't much detail put into making them. For many other pistols their is a spacer called xgrip that is great but no such for the glock.
  20. when i'm tooling around the farm or working in the woods i really don't think the cattle or squirrels really care. If i go anywhere in public i'm concealed.
  21. yes. when the mag is fully loaded you have all the pressure that it took you to get that last round in the mag pushing down on the mag release. try pushing up on the mag to relieve a little of that pressure then push the mag release. it should make it a little easier.
  22. wish mine was od or tan
  23. i'm guessing the mechanic has dollar signs dancing in his head. he's waiting to tell the mid life crisis that he's gonna need a stage 12 clutch and it'll take about a week to put in.
  24. for playing and carrying where i don't care if the gun shows i put a glock 22 mag in my 27. months ago i had a A&G magazine spacer to finish up the grip. it didn't fit very good and the gun actually felt better with out the spacer thing so i sold it. i've been looking around and found a brand called ProMag which looks pretty much the same as A&G with a little texture; which is better. I would have swore i saw one at midway or sportsmansguide that actually matched up finger groves all. Have any of you been able to compare the A & G against the ProMag? Have any of you seen/know of any other companies making these? This is one area where xd really whips the glock. springfield does this OEM; but then i did get the glock because it's a bit smaller. No i'm not trading my 27 for a xd 40 sub but have been looking at a 5" xd 45, i guess that's another thread.
