  1. i'm not familiar with the rifle in question but don't see why not. as long as the action has a couple screws holding it in the stock to avoid any kind of rocking that would occur with a single screw holding the action in the stock.
  2. i shot her an email andrea.stone@sphere.com. Something to think about. By your article i can tell which side you stand on. So a family is walking down down a path in a national park and Mr. Bad Guy; we'll call him BG for for short, decides he would like there wallets. Since it seems like a fairly remote area so it's better to get rid of the witnesses. Scenario 1 If the father or mother is properly trained and armed they have the potential to stop the threat. If the shots properly taken BG is killed. The family lives happily ever after with a memory of their bad day. Scenario 2 BG takes the family's wallets kills the husband, rapes the mother in front of the children; but the children are able to get away..... Now if BG gets caught... we, as in you and I, get to pay for his room, food, doctors visits and anything else BG needs for the rest of his life. While the family is with out a father (the good guy) and they don't live happily ever after with a memory of their bad day at the park. If BG is able to get away, he lives to try it again another day. YOUR PICK!! -- Scott M
  3. i vote 23. i carry a 27 edc. if you're going to carry it i like having a the extra punch in pretty much the same package.
  4. here's my 835 i put the ATI stock on it and 2 of the drop spacers epoxied together to make it feel right. I just use it hunting turkey and i have a rifled slug barrel. i've been looking for a cheap mossy 500 or remmy 870 to make a house gun out of.
  5. my g27 will screw up from limp wristing but i have to try hard. if it wasn't a glock i'ld sa 7-10 in 500 ain't bad. not sure on the mag spring.
  6. i just measured the groups and the 100 yd vmax is .72" holy:poop: that's awesome. i think the gun can do better if i can.
  7. to answer the exact question NO i see no benefit. to me as long as it patterns good it's good and the oem accu mag choke (i think is what it's called) that comes on some mossys works pretty darn good.
  8. had a pf9. the accuracy of the little thing amazed me. my wife 5'1" 110lbs could handle it no prob. traded it off but it's on my want another one list.
  9. i've tried the ported carlsons and primos jelly head in my 835. the carlsons does great with #6 shot while the jelly head is so close to factory i don't think it's worth it
  10. got to play this mornin. i was cranking on the scope a little between groups. each group is at least 5 shots. the 50 yd had 3 touching then went out to 100 yds to try 3 ammo types. tried 3 ammo types. bottom left hornady xtp 20 gr bottom right CCI 17 gr the other shots were off the paper but it was similar to the xtp top right fed vmax 17 gr
  11. alright alright i'm not cuttin on it. i did find some old adds on ebay to frame and display with it. hopefully i'll get time to clean it up this weekend
  12. got the wife one cause she liked it and after playin with it i got one. had to polish the feed ramp on mine to get it to cyle JHPs but after that they've both been great.
  13. thanks i appreciate the offer
  14. yall notice the dangedest things. That's the sweet spot; straight out to the right and wrapped around a push pin.
  15. 103 North Willow Avenue Cookeville, TN 38501-2369 (931) 372-7296 dralarms. good eye! that is a salt water tank. it's a little 10 gallon with about 15 lbs of live rock one fish i forget what kind (chromis maybe?) and a crab. it's low maintenance. I help a guy clean tanks on the side and after that mine get neglected. Me too. find out this afternoon if all goes well
  16. picked up my marlin 917s today. (sportster barrel) took it have the barrel cut down but the gun smith said he didn't tighten his lathe vise correctly and scratched the barrel so... barrel cut to 18.75" recrowned 11 degree target crown w/ 40 degree recessed champher to make up for the scratch which i would have never thought anything about: lapped bolt tightened bolt grooves for tighter action polished bolt & chamber rails installed free wolf spring kit said if the scratch bothered me he would get me a new barrel. i ain't complainin +1 for daves pawn shop cookeville & crossville tn
  17. i was afraid yall would talk some sense into me. i really want to cut on it but it is pretty the way it is. if it could talk the stories it would tell.
  18. i spotted this old sweet lokin gun yesterday and mentioned it to the wife last night. Today she told me to go by and talk to my buddy at the gun shop, so i did. He laid this marlin 24 shot gun on the counter and said happy valentines day. took me a minute but then it registered the wife had got it for me. little scary hearing that from a guy even if you have known him for 15 yrs. i really have no use for it. wouldn't shoot anything but target loads in it cause it's 100 years old but it's cool factor is huge. everything on it seems to be working as in every thing locks up nice. needs a good cleaning. back to the cool factor. This devil in my mind wants me to cut it up and make a vintage sawed off out of it. i've looked all over the net and it seems to be worth about $300 or so in the shap it's in. i know it wouldn't be worth $100 if i cut it up but what's the fun in leaving it alone? it'll probably end up hangin on the wall in my home office (toy room) either way. imagine this sawed off.......... opinions?
  19. i've had this 835 for about 3 years and i don't plan on getting rid of it. I also have a 870 with 3" chamber that's a little older. the fit and finish on the 870 is much tighter and if i could do it all over again i would get the 870 super mag.

    Impact power

    45 acp = stop 44 mag = obliterate
  21. pm me next time you mad at it. i'll throw in a bid and you can pretend you never had it.
  22. haven't heard of it happening but the 835 bore is larger than standard 12 gauge bore. this overboring doesn't support the smaller diameter of the slug correctly so it in theory could turn side ways bit. seems like trying to squeeze wobbling slug through any choke smaller than cylinder bore could really do a number on the choke and barrel. even if you did get out the barrel safely it couldn't be very accurate.
  23. at one time i laughed at the little p3at and lcp till the wife and i were in a gun shop. She had a taurus mill pro 9mm that she just wouldn't carry "it's too big":drama: i told her she never said that to me. Anyway she wouldn't go for a wheel gun but eyed a p3at and had to have it. We took it shooting and i had to polish the feed ramp to get to feed reliably now it's been 100% and accuracy impressed me within 15-20ft. now i have one too. on occassions where iwb isn't possible (dress pants and tucked in shirt) i had always carried my g27 on my ankle but now i put the p3at in my pocket and go. I laugh no more though they still seem cheaply made.
  24. i like it! held a gen 4 22 today at daves pawn shop. The smaller grip feels great. I want a 21 but haven't seen a gen 4 21 yet and my toy funds are dry for a while anyway. wife would throw all my stuff out if found one so i'm not lookin to hard. Well that might not be all that bad.........nevermind. forgot to mention i played with one of the fish gilled versions too and although it looked cool the gills didn't give the grip of the old faithful serrations or whatever you want to call them.
  25. after researching the net i carry hornady critical defense, 102gr golden sabre, or FMJ. depending on the mood i sometimes alternate rounds in my mag; hp, fmj, hp, fmj.... sounds like a good idea anyway.
