  1. It appears some things have changed with acquiring a handgun carry permit since I moved. I was told the shooting requirement has changed but I can't find anything online.   Also, I was told you can regiester online and that you have to provide a picture to the DMV instead of having them take one.   Can anyone confirm? My wife and I are taking the class next week.
  2. I didn't even realize the G19 mags were out. I still think they are more attractive around $11-$13...
  3.   I'm sorry Blake but I couldn't disagree with you more. It sounds like you're blaming western countries for the violent behavior we are seeing. As we all know, Muslims have been violent for a long, long time. Far before the US and other countries got involved in the middle east. I agree we probably made things worse.   How do you explain all the violence and attacks that Muslims perform in other parts of the world that don't have their nose in the middle east? Hell, look at Africa. Anywhere there is a large concentration of Muslims is generally a pretty shitty part of the world.   While I'm not as extreme as some of the members here in thinking that all Muslims are horrible, I'm also not naïve enough to think that it's only a small minority that want to kill us. I will not claim to be an expert on Islam but everything I've read leaves me genuinely concerned with our future.   I keep thinking back to that survey of Muslims living in England. Over 40% admitted to sympathizing with Bin Laden. That's just the ones that answered honestly.
  4. You're right. I wasn't sure if others were having similar issues. Thanks anyways!
  5. Windows 8 with I.E     Windows 8 actually helped my comptuer quite a bit. I've been happy with it.
  6.   The Ruger Mini 14. I saw at least one officer on TV carrying one.   Damn, this thread got off topic fast even for us...My bad!
  7.   I bought 5 KCI mags by mistake once. They wouldn't work at all in my Glock 23 but worked just fine in my brothers G22. I wouldn't buy them again.
  8.   The AR-15 among others. Isn't the general consensus that the AR is more accurate than the Mini? Also, aren't magazine changes easier on AR's?   And as KKing points out, the length could present a problem when clearing rooms/buildings.
  9.   They are reliable but I think there are better options. If I were a LEO I would want the best.
  10. So, where are all the police trade in Mini's then? One would think we'd start to see them at some point.
  11. I spoke too soon. Still having some of the same issues. I just tried to respond to Garooof in another thread and instead of quoting his post it just gives me the option to add my own comments. It took a 2nd try before his words would show up.   I'm staring to wonder if it's a forum issue?
  12.   You saw that too huh? During the first paris attack early this year I noticed all the Mini's they were rockin.
  13. That seems to have helped tremendously. I still don't understand the video thing though.
  14. I'm always surprised to see officers toting Mini-14's. The mini is a fine rifle but for the same price you could have a much more accurate and versitle AR-15.
  15.   Agreed. I only bought them because Midway had them for $15 plus $5 off my purchase and shipping was cheap. I doubt I'll buy any more.
  16. Now it's not letting me reply in the San Bernardino thread....very strange.
  17. This is my 4th attempt to get this thread to post so I'm going to cut it short.   Yesterday I tested 2 of the Magpul G17 mags and they worked just fine. Fit an finish was pretty cheap and worse than I was expecting from Magpul but I was happy there were zero malfunctions.   At $15 a piece you'll have to determine if these are worth giving a shot. CDNN always has factory Glock magazines for $19.99 so there isn't a ton of savings.   Personally, I think the Magpul mags would have more value if they were in the $12-13 price range.   Anyways, I just thought a few of you would find this valuable.
  18. I'm having some very strange issues that almost seem more like problems with my PC but it's not happening on other forums or websites.   when I try to quote another post and respond to that person it's taking multiple attempts before it will work It's not wanting to let me copy and paste material the manual way either. I've been trying to create a new post about another topic and it isn't working. Each time I try to preview the post before publishing it says "you must first enter a post" even though my words are clearly visible. It will not let me post a video from photobucket   As I was typing this I determined I can create a new thread as long as I leave out the link to the video. As soon as I add that it's creating some kind of error that is preventing the entire thing from posting.
  19. Nothing better than great friends you can depend on.
  20. Thanks for the info. I was afraid someone was going to confirm it would need to be removed first. I'd rather do it the right way the first time.
  21. Are you a class 3 dealer? How are you able to get your hands on these?   Awesome videos BTW!
  22. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if I can simply redo my garage floor. The previous owner put down some epoxy garage floor coating that I'm sure looked good at one time. Now it looks horrible. Do you think I could simply put another coat on or do you think the old stuff would need to be stripped off?
  23. Good call. I like those.
  24.   And it's not that farfetched to think something could happen to your main optic. It doesn't have to be something as unrealistic as an EMP to destroy your red dot or whatever you run. That's why I'm looking into it.
  25. I was reading some fictional SHTF book a while back and the auther brought up a good point. At night, it's going to be pretty difficult to hit anything with iron sights. Let's pretend your red dot or other optic isn't working for whatever reason.   Has anyone invested in tritium iron sights that are worth recommending?
