  1. Damn good post. I didn't realize he was paid by Fox. Now I understand where link was going even if I don't agree with the comparison.
  2. That's a good point. The finish on these 870's is pretty bad too.
  3.   Did you even read the first article you linked?   It said,
  4. The Elzetta mount is polymer as well. It's been on this gun for almost 5 years now and never caused a problem. Admittedly, the last time I shot this gun was up at Norris with you Mac. If you recall, we took it apart and had a hell of a time putting it back together. But it's been loaded/unloaded multiple times since I've been down in FL and this was the first time I've had an issue with the spring/follower.    Once I get moved I'll put the mount back on there and take it out to the moose lodge with you to see if I can figure out what the issue is.
  5.   I just read the article you linked. It sounds to me like West has some massive balls and did what was necessary to get information from a terrorist. Undoubtedly, he saved lives by doing what he did.    If you're expecting us to be outraged by his actions you might be disappointed.
  6. I just finished a fantastic zombie apocalypse thriller that I'd recommend. It was very well written and much better than the majority of zombie books out there.   It's priced very low(if you have a kindle) and there are multiple books in the series.    http://www.amazon.com/Apocalypse-Undead-World-Novel/dp/098889808X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436660225&sr=8-1&keywords=the+apocalypse+peter+meredith
  7. I just find it odd that it could be so tight that it actually compresses the metal enough to mess with it. I think a metal follower is a good idea regardless of what I find out.
  8. So I just pulled my 870 out of the closet to unload it for my upcomming move. When I tried to cycle the shells out I found none would feed. After looking closer I could see the spring wasn't working. It was jammed way up towards the back and the shells were just sliding around in the tube.    I figured I was going to have to take it apart so I removed the ElZetta flashlight mount that I have on there.   The exact second I pulled the mount from the mag tub I hear this loud THUMP and felt the follower and spring go flying home as they should have.   Is it possible that the flashlight mount is so tight it was actually squeezing the tube and preventing the spring from moving? Or is this only a coincidence?   The gun is working fine now without the mount on there. It's going to be a real bummer if I can't keep the light on there.
  9.   Link, I'm just curious, is there anyone you actually do like? Over the years I've watched you bitch about every political figure that is mentioned on this forum. You've complained about liberals, conservatives and everyone in between.   I just reread West's post and I don't see any mention of blaming blacks for the flag coming down. He actually said the liberal media got the ball rolling.    I think his post has a lot of valid points personally.
  10.   You're right. I realized that earlier after the first person replied and instantly knew I'd asked a stupid question.   :shake:   I was smart enough to empty all my gas cans though.
  11. I got a transfer/promotion to move back to Knoxville with my company. We could not be happier. It's been a long 4 years. We've had some fun down here but I'm ready to be back at home.
  12.   Interesting. I honestly thought the "expert" on the radio was wrong or stretching the truth.    Still, it seems 3 days is more than enough time for the feds to figure this out. They are clearly to blame here.
  13.   Makes sense thanks.
  14. So I'm going through the moving checklist that was given to us by our mortgage lender and one of the items says to drain all outdoor equipment including propane tank from BBQ grill.   Obviously I understand it's flammable but is this really necessary? It will be going in the back of the rental truck and I'll secure it so that it won't roll around.     We're thrilled to be moving back to TN in just 8 days!
  15. NPR was eating this up today on the drive home. As usual they called it a loophole. Then one of their guest speakers claimed that after the 3 day wait period if the FBI hasn't reached a decision then that person can just buy the gun anyways. This doesn't seem right and I have no idea why the 3 day rule is even relevant.   The FBI screwed the pooch plain and simple.
  16. Great story but I'm not seeing any mention of the .380 caliber being used. Where is it?
  17.     Unless you are current or former LEO you have no business criticizing them from the sidelines.
  18.   I followed your link and also found this for slightly less. Is the XM193 a better round?   http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/4550/
  19. That was epic. What I can't figure out is why Japan has a male goalkeeper. I didn't realize it was coed..
  20. This is one reason why I really hate staying in outside access motels. They seem to attract the scum of the earth.
  21. This is the gun I routinely drool over...
  22. Nice setup you have there. I still prefer my Glock 19 but the 43 is a neat little gun. I like those sights.
