  2. They have a new one coming out.  Striker fired, metal sights and new grip.  Same price but suppose to fix issues.
  3. I will actually make again for May. Trying to work out some time off to make the next several months. I should of never stopped going. I got a ways to go to get back into shooting shape.
  4. sweet build... send it to me with 5k ammo and i will break it in for you
  5. I do lots of driving and sitting in the car. Wear mine at 3 to 330 for all day comfort.
  6. Ive shot both the standard and the compact. While I dont like the looks of them they shot well and didnt experience any malfunctions. A guy in Oak Ridge has had a couple of demos and let us put some rounds down range. Accurate and easy to shot.
  7. HAHA. Im sure you will show some of that love come match time. Even with just a 5 round mag hanidcap I wont be able to catch you yet. See you guys saturday.
  8. I say we limit BigJ45 to 5 round mags. Will anyone second that motion.
  9. anyone can come and shot in the matches they offer. IDPA 1st saturday. USPSA 3rd saturday, 3gun 3rd sunday, Steel 4th saturday. I think they have cowboy on the 2nd saturday. Let me know when you want to make one and if I am going we can meet up so you dont have to walk in alone and dont know what or where to go.
  10. You can shoot there without being a member. From what I have heard becoming a member isnt hard. You just need a member to sponsor you and the board to pass it then take a orientation type class.
  11. Oak Ridge = IDPA 1st saturday, USPSA 3rd saturday, Steel 4th saturday
  12. I think they should be able to carry when ever where ever in their state.
  13. That is awesome. I wish I could of started at that age. Great concept about the safety violations.
  14. Heres a quick video of stages 1 and 4. Im not the greatest shooter in the world but its here for your entertainment. YouTube - August ORSA USPSA
  15. Anyone shooting USPSA at ORSA this weekend that has some extra MnP9 fullsize mags that I can borrow. I ordered some but they wont be here and would like to shoot my new MnP this weekend. I only have the two that came with it and could use two more. Thanks
  16. Anyone around the knoxville area have the tools and patience to help me replace sights and put some drop in parts in my SW MP. Looking to learn how to do a few things on my own and info on proper tools to get. Thanks
  17. Im just glad that more people are starting to think of protecting themselves before they have been a victim. Whether they have the biggest or smallest defensive weapon or the slowest or fastest holster, atleast they are deciding not to be a victim and thats a start.
  18. I'm also in Seymour. We will have to do a Seymour range day sometime.
  19. I carry the same gun all year long. Put priority on quality belt and holster and as long as you have belt loops you can carry(even with lightweight shorts).
  20. I put a couple rounds of some remington golden JHP thru it today just to make sure.
  21. Ok. I have been hearing a lot of negative press about the new Gen4 17 with its FTF problems, but I have been wanting a 17 for a while now and decided to go ahead and try it. The main reason is that I have fairly small hands and the Gen4 grip fits so much nicer than the Gen3 for me. I could tell the size difference immediately when I picked it up. The larger mag release was also a plus. Everything else is just nuts and bolts to me and didnt matter as long as it was reliable. So I picked up the Gen4 17 this morning and went to a local range. First thing I did was take it apart and wipe off all the lube and stuff from the factory. Then applied my own lubricant, put it back together and set up a target. Target used today was a IDPA paper target. Started at 3 yards and threw five rounds at it. Same thing at 5, 7, 10. 15, 20, and 25 yards. If you are familiar with the IDPA target the center -0 ring is 8 inches in diameter. All shoots were inside the -0 ring even at the 25 yard range. Then fired some more from various distances just playing around. Not one hiccup today. It performed flawlessly. My thoughts on the changes: The new grip size is what won me over so I give that an A+ in my book. I havent even looked at the grip add ons so I can not comment on those. The new mag release also gets an A+ from me. I never had a problem with the previous mag release and I am not left handed but I think its about time they made this an option and they did a pretty good job in my opinion. Since I have small hands I still have to turn my grip slightly to engage the mag release but its less than before. The trigger is noticeably a little heavier then my other glocks but it wasnt that bad. Still felt like a glock trgger to me. Read some where that they made a slight change to the connector and this is why the trigger pull is heavier. Who knows, Im not the expert. The recoil spring and guide rod. Does it make a difference? I dont know. I dont have another 17 to compare it with. I can tell you that there was less felt recoil and it seemed to come back on target a little faster than my 19 but I would say that overall size my be a factor in this. Ammo shot today was winchester white box 115 grain and blazer 115 grain, both purchased from walmart. Overall all I am very happy I didnt let all the negative press deter me from buying the new 17. It performed just like my other glocks and you wont hear any complaints from me.
  22. Yep, gonna be there. I will be the one shooting slower than everyone else.
  23. I have them and use them outdoors while shooting IDPA. Comfortable enough to wear for extended periods. I have used them indoors while soming was shooting a 44 mag and it wasnt very fun. Would not recommend them for shooting anything over .45
