  1. Because of State Law. Keep in mind that the vast majority of LEOs want law abiding responsible citizens to carry. Nothing makes most LEOs happier than when Joe Citizen offs one of these scumbags (read; Antioch approx. 2 weeks ago). Back to LEO carry, A good example is carry in public parks. Citizens with a HCP can't carry in public parks where as a LEO can. In fact the TCA 39-17-350 specifically states the only places LEOs can't carry: schools, without permission from principle, when drinking alcoholic beverages, where alcoholic beverages are sold (HR 218 voids that one) and when in court during precedings while off duty. As far as private property goes, if someone were to ask me to leave / not carry, Id give my little speach and go.
  2. Newbie, .223 Cash poor: 9mm, .38spec & .30 carbine in the works. 30-06 when the cmp dries up.
  3. Fan of the 870. Wingmaster: Where did you get your stock and fore end? Looks great. Slightly off topic: What parts do I need to extend the magazine tube on an 870 wingmaster with an 18.5 in. barrel?
  4. One other thing. I field stripped my glock when I put it in the locked container, but kept the spring in my pocket. That way if my pistol was stolen it would be next to useless. I had no problems, you might also just take a smaller spring from the trigger assembly or other non firearm looking piece.
  5. You can go through the short line for "special needs" and skip EVERYONE. Got to do it in Nashville and Pittsburgh, both places no hassle at all.
  6. Serpas doesn't even trust officers with guns, let alone any other citizen. Officers can be in the performance of their duties and eating lunch. Metro police work 8.5 hours a day, which includes a paid breakfast/lunch/dinner. No different that when their're in court outside their regular shift. Policy prevents officers acting as officers to be political in any manner. Political activism has to be on their own time. An officer who says "I officer --------- support or disagree with ---------, can and do face discipline. Nobody likes Chief Serpas except those dumb enough to have his smoke blown up their ass. The overwhelming majority of Nashville cops are very pro 2nd amendment.
  7. They are trying to get the 3rd gen G22s by trading in the 2nd gens
  8. Winchester Ranger SXT in .40 The city dosen't DO ANYTHING because its the best, they do it because it's the cheapest.
  9. Just remember if you get tasered, your gun can easily be taken away and used against you or someone else. As far as taser deaths, in all of the reports I have heard of the suspect was high as a kite. BUT he was a good boy and that evil tazer controlled by jackbooted thugs killed him not the Tony Montana mound of cocaine.
  10. It's easier to get an order of protection than it is to brush your teeth in the morning.
  11. It is not illegal to brandish a firearm when someone is stealing your property, you just can't shoot to stop them from taking it. Now if they attempt to take your gun from you, thats a different story. You can also kick the sh*t out of them if they are taking your stuff, but stop short of serious bodily injury(i.e. broken bones or permanent injuries). MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAR THAT THE PROPERTY IS YOURS. Finding them later on after the initial theft has occured is a no no.
  12. Come on now. EVERYBODY KNOWS THE POLICE WILL PROTECT YOU! Why should you be responsible for your own safety when you don't feel your responsible for ANYTHING? Just let the government handle it, they have your best intrests in mind!? Murfreesboro is going to continue to get worse with their rapid expansion. Just wait a couple more years for the yuppies to completly overrun downtown Nashville. We are already seeing this is now in Antioch, being such a nice place to live and all. The thugs and whatnot have to live somewhere and they are being forced from downtown so that leaves the country or the suburbs.
