  1. Welcome
  2. It's very possiable...I might would go so far as to say likely that he didn't mean "hassle" to indicate any wrong doing by a LEO. But rather to simply mean not being stopped and asked to show his HCP in the first place. Which I think we all can agree is less likely (no...it's not an absolute) if you carry concealed instead of open. As I have said before I am for OC and think those that want to should. But I have also said one reason I don't is because I do not want to explain to sheepel why I carry, why OC is legal and/or I don't want to draw attention to myself from others, including LEOs. For the most part those that OC don't mind educating the public, the attention they may draw and they should not mind their HCP status being checked (Not talking about any harassment). But...those actions I just mentioned could be called a "hassle" by those who do not OC.
  3. Thanks for the non-chastising....
  4. KY does honor TN permits. OC is legal in KY without a permit. Places off-limits as listed on Handgunlaw.us KY's Page • Police station or sheriff's office. • Detention facility, prison or jail • Courthouse (Court of Justice, courtroom or court proceeding). • County, municipal, or special district governing body meetings • General Assembly session, including committee meetings. • Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense beer or alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to that purpose; • Elementary or secondary school facilities or any other property owned, used, or operated by any board of education, school, board of trustees, regents, or directors for the administration of any public or private educational institution. The provisions of this section shall not apply to institutions of postsecondary or higher education. A private but not a public employer may prohibit employees or other persons holding a concealed deadly weapons license from carrying concealed deadly weapons, or ammunition, or both in vehicles owned by the employer, but may not prohibit employees or other persons holding a concealed deadly weapons license from carrying concealed deadly weapons, or ammunition, or both in vehicles owned by the employee, except that the Justice Cabinet may prohibit an employee from carrying any weapons, or ammunition, or both other than the weapons, or ammunition, or both issued or authorized to be used Page 6 of 11 by the employee of the cabinet, in a vehicle while transporting persons under the employee's supervision or jurisdiction. • Carrying of a concealed weapon, or ammunition, or both in a location specified in the above bulleted Item (In Vehicles) by a license holder shall not be a criminal act but may subject the person to denial from the premises or removal from the premises, and, if an employee of an employer, disciplinary measures by the employer.
  5. 60 Minutes has a segment about the "gun rush" coming up on this Sunday's show. 60 Minutes: Watch Full Episodes and Video and Join the Ultimate Fan Community - CBS.com Wonder how this will be twisted?
  6. No.... It is being called carry in Restaurants mainly so as not to associate it with carry in a night club or bar. Since a night club, bar and the like are defined in T.C.A. that is why there have been restrictions added to the house version restricting carry after 11:00pm and in age restricted venues. If the Senate version becomes law you could carry anywhere alcohol is served at anytime. If the House version becomes law you could not carry in places that serve alcohol between 11:00pm - 5:00am but you could carry anywhere that is not age restricted regardless of what type of establishment it is. If it is age restricted you could not carry, regardless of what type of establishment it is.
  7. To be honest the inner workings of the board are over my head. But when I was looking for imaging software to make backups of my hard drive, I found some that if the operating system is still running (which it is of course) it somehow makes a quick image then backs that up...or something like that. Now of course any changes you make from that time forward won't be included in the backup. Is there anything like that that could be used on the board? You know...take a quick image that wouldn't require it being shut down to back up? Like I said...this is a little beyond me so if this is silly or impossiable...just look over me...lol
  8. Yep!! One good thing....it may have killed a few threads that were dying a slow agonizing death....lol
  9. Various threads merged.
  10. That is two of the biggest things I figured would happen. I didn't watch it, but it is on the TIVO...sounds like I may just delete it...
  11. Better than 10-15 seperate threads....
  12. Yep....that was my suggestion...
  13. One or the other, but not both... Yep Yep again...
  14. True...but I think the odds of that are fairly slim (at least I hope) since both chambers seem to want the same basic thing and may simply disagree on specifics. I'm hoping that even though the House didn't want to remove the restrictions themselves...they are willing to accept it if the Senate does. But we'll see I guess. lol
  15. LOL...well I admit the only ones I ever got from LEOs were when I was young as well. Better them than dad!!!!
  16. Fortunately it doesn't sound like it has happened to you, but "lectures" do happen on traffic stops or other interactions with LEOs. Sometimes without any real provocation from the stopped party. I have seen it when I used to ride along. The agency my brother and SIL work for actually has a "no lecture" policy.
  17. Welcome
  18. Welcome
  19. I think those representing each side of the issue are basically correct on the last few post. Of course there are extremes on each side and you can sight at least one instance for almost any scenario.
  20. Best I can tell this bill says only LE. Seems like there was another bill that said you could turn them into a gun shop. But so far those are the only choices I've heard of.
