  1. Let me be a little more clear, I was never told directly that no one could carry in the store. It was more the impression I got when asking about taking my carry weapon to the range. I apologize if I misunderstood their policy and if I related it wrong.
  2. Last time I talked with anyone at the Great Outdoor Store, they didn't want anyone, even LEOs, to carry a loaded firearm inside the store. I understand this as far as weapons you are taking to the firing range or for service, but I was told not even your carry weapon. Do you know if this is still their policy?
  3. Since it's not a CWP in TN, you should get one of these instead..
  4. I'd be all for it!!
  5. Welcome
  6. I have heard of officers doing that before, and that is why some do hand it over at the same time. But the law does not require it. LEOs should work on getting the law changed instead of getting upset with citizens following the law if they want to change TN to a must infrom state. But as said, this can be further discussed in this thread.
  7. I carry it in my wallet, but NOT behind my DL. It is behind other cards. If I hand over just my DL, I don't want my HCP to be seen. Whether to hand both over has already been discussed and should not be done again in this thread. Do a search if you wish to discuss that topic.

  11. SB0287 Firearms and Ammunition - As introduced, extends the time period within which a seized firearm may be sold at auction pursuant to court order from six to 12 months.
  12. Get your t-shirts for the march here. *Not actually affiliated with the march in anyway.
  13. Of course if I understand everything right (big if) there is a difference between a backing up and imaging With a back up it may make a copy of your tax file, account info from Microsoft Money, etc.... but if you lost your entire hard drive, you would still have to reinstall those programs on the new hard drive to use the backed up data. If you have an image of your old hard drive, you can restore it to the new hard drive and everything will be just like before, with programs already installed, with the same settings even, file directories the same and so on. Is this right IT guys? I try to keep up with all my install disk and programs, but don't always do a great job, this is why I though imaging the HD is better than just making a backup.

  16. Yeah....may have got ahead of myself a little on that one. Not really sure why I'd need to boot off the jump drive anyway. ...and I may have been looking at the wrong thing when I said ISO file...lol I know just enough to be dangerous....lol
  17. Yep, when I got my CDL (Class B, really need to get my A and some endorsements), had to sign a piece of paper that said I knew and understood that .04 was the BAC while driving a commercial vehicle. So why not .04 for being armed then? But anyway.... Oh, I know medications aren't a pass, I just meant that if they tried to lower it to 0.0 that even cough syrup might make you blow more than that. Oh...and thanks for the great debate. It is good when things can be discussed/debated as opposed to being argued and/or attacking the individual. I think you and I have been able to do this in the past as well.
  18. I love when the news or a TV program says "He has a BAC of 10%." LOL BAC or Jail is the choice we have now though, right? I don't think there would be anyway to lower the BAC to 0.0 There is too many medications or other things (communion) that would register at least .01 or so. I admire your ability to know your limitations and/or intentions when it comes to drinking and I acknowledge many people don't.
  19. There is no doubt that MADD has SUPER political power, but I'm not sure how they could even go that far.....but maybe close though I guess. I mean if I go in, have my single drink, and can't drive.....how long can't I drive? Then even if there was some sort of set time after the last drink, how would an officer actually determine how long it has been?
  20. The reason I ask is wasn't really sure why you wouldn't just use the latest image you have done for a back up. Of course I guess earlier images might be good if you installed something that caused a crash and wanted to go back before that point? I went ahead and made the bootable CD. not 100% sure, but I think I can put the .iso file on my jumpdrive and boot from it even. 99% sure it is the hub, I think the computer has USB 2 ports, my hub is older and was used on my other computer and is only 1.1, I think. I actually have 2 hubs on plugged into the other that is plugged into the computer. Not sure if either is 2.0 or not...to be honest not sure how to tell. One has an external power source and the other doesn't. I have that one at the end of the chain. I guess I really need to see what I can find out or do...my HD currently has about 161gb of data on it. It does appear you can use Task Scheduler to run the program, I'll have to play with that I guess and see if I can get it set up. I have been meaning to do this a while...Thanks mousegunner for the thread and getting me interested again and Thanks OS for your help.
  21. Right now it is illegal for the driver of a vehicle to consume alcohol while driving. I agree that at some point it will be illegal for all in the vehicle to be drinking. But surely you don't mean you can drive to Outback, have one beer, and then it be illegal to drive home?
  22. I agree, right now the prioity is to just to allow it period. ..and I do agree that compensations may have to be made to do that. I am speaking more in general as opposed to what needs to try and be accomplished this session.
  23. Ah...I got ya. Granted doing it once a week shouldn't be too hard to remember. Like you said just start before going to bed.... Do you just overwrite the previous image? I read the webpage a little bit, but it is a true image of the HD, right? I mean I run the program, HD crashes the next day, I can buy a new HD and restore the old HD on the new one? Oh...I do have a 500gb external HD that I would be putting the image/backup on. The only real problem I see is, I don't have a firewire connection on my computer and it appears the USB hub my external HD is plugged into isn't 2.0....so could take a while for the backup....but got to do what you got to do.
  24. ....and drunk drivers go to jail. I'm all for if you are drunk and armed of you going to jail. Just wish there was more of a standard to define drunk for being armed, like there is for driving. There are folks that don't use their heads while doing lots of activities, but does that always mean everyone should be banned doing them?
  25. Just to be clear....none of this legilation mentions that it is ok to drink while armed. Most, if not all, of the bills specifically say that you can not drink. But even if that is not in the bill there is still 39-17-1321 which says it is illegal to be in possesion of a handgun while "under the influence". All I have said is, I wish there was a more black and white guidline, like for DUI, than just up to the discreation of the officer. But........................ If you can have one or two drinks with a meal and still drive home in your car and it be legal, not so sure why it should be illegal to be armed. What if you do decided to leave your gun in the car, have your drinks with the meal, come back and rearm yourself. What is the difference if you would have been armed the whole time?
