  6. They didn't ask.   Demanded is more like it.  Forbidden to take pictures of it, according to them.     Thanks for the offer spots, It looks like I may be headed to the Eastern part of Tn. more often.   Its not important enough to spend any cash on data recovery.  ;) good info to have tho.   Headed to Chi town for some test this week..  now thats scary.  Going to feel nakid on  the Gold Coast.
  7. Thank you for the input.   Its not like me to argue with authority about something I'm not well versed in. I felt like I would only have been escalating the situation.    If it ever happens again and If it was something important, I would keep it knowing what I have learned.      I like to birdwatch, I had a monocular around my neck. I threw it into the passenger seat when I  stood up, and no one seemed to notice.  Was you Spying on us boy????   The guards that came from the gate, I don't remember them having anything but pepper spray and such. I'm pretty sure the SUV officer had a weapon.   I was hoping to find a place in the hills to use as a range. In the trunk, I had around 700 rounds of 9mm in an ammo box  5 mags for a G19 BUG Trama kit Bugout bag with survival stuff. Clothing Hiking boots.   So If I had wanted to help some POS get out of there, I had plenty to throw over the fence I suppose.   I was  in a position where they could have made my day a little longer, had I not cooperated, and it was a day for riding, not talking.   Thanks you for your input and info.   Have a good week   soapy
  8.           So here I go, entering Frozen Head State Park (public road) on a beautiful Thursday morning in the mountains, just before noon. My recently deceased dad lived on that road and I was just wasting time, waiting on my sister to call me and meet. I was in the summer car, with the top down.  Going down the street I began to take pictures of the Tn. Department of Correction, Morgan County Complex. A bit down the road, as I approach the main entrance on my right, a security SUV leaves the entrance and the female driver is looking at me hard as we pass.  I continue on, stopped once or twice, and took some more pictures.  A pickup approaches and pulls up beside me, someone talking on a radio.  He said,  You can't be blocking the road and taking pictures"  before I can answer, he says, "there is a car coming. They are coming to check you out, pull down there and wait."  I said "well ok, I'm good". He looked at me funny, and I repeated, " I'm Good". I don't think he noticed the weapon next to my console, but his truck was much taller than my sports car and he could have. ( There was never anyone behind me when I stopped, so I was prepared to argue that point, but never got the chance.) So I am almost all the way past the complex now,  and I pull into the last parking area, next to a entrance with guards.  I turn everything off, and put my hands up on the windshield.           A  few minutes later, a security SUV pulls in behind me and and stops behind me sideways, blocking any exit. At the same time 3 security guards come toward me from the fence, gate area. I've got my hands in the air, and the female officer says, " your alright sir, your alright" 2 or 3 times, as she approaches my door.  She ask me if I was taking pictures, I said yes, she replied, " you can't take pictures of the site, you will have to delete them from your camera while I watch. I said  "I'm sorry, I did not know that you could not take pictures here." ( no signs are posted, so how would you know?) At the same time, before I have a chance to say anything about the weapon, one of the 3 male officers approaches and  says, "He may not be alright, Do You Have a Permit for that gun?" I said "Yes sir, I do, its in my ankle wallet. Is it ok if I open the door and place my feet on the ground.  That way I can retrieve it and you can see what I'm doing." 'Ok" he said.   While I'm getting my DL and permit out, I tell him I'm in town because my dad passed, he lived down the road etc. He asked me his name. ( He was the only one that spoke to me other than the  female security.) I mention my sister lives in Wartburg and he asked her name. when I told him he asked if she was kin to someone he knew. I said, I don't know . Later I found out the person he asked about was my sisters father in law. I pass my info to the guard, he hands it to the  female officer, and she goes to her SUV and "checks  me out." I sat in the car, with the door open, my feet on the ground, and somehow managed to get the camera in delete mode. the day was bright and I couldn't see the pictures very well. While this is going on, the corrections officer (guard), is talking to me.   as best as I can remember this is what he said.   We just had an escape on the other side of the state yesterday. So you could be taking pictures of the place to help with an escape.  We also have people coming in here to throw stuff over the fence, that would be easy to do in a convertible like yours.  (Some where in here I asked if I could stand up and stretch and he said ok.)  BTW thats a nice car.  TY, it ain't mine, belongs to the wife. I don't own nothing. We BS about his 30 years there, where I was from etc, while she checks me out. Somewhere in there the guard and I shook hands. She finishes up, and they hand me my info back, can't remember who.  I sat down and handed her the camera and after showing her how to delete pictures, she erased the ones of the complex, while I put my info away. She hands me the camera back,  looks at me and kinda blurts out.  "Sir, Your free to go, enjoy the park.  She thanks me for not giving them any crap about the pictures and the rest agree. ( I guess some people have more balls than me)  She makes me promise I won't take any more pictures of the prison, and tells me where I can take all the pictures I want. I promise.  I thank them for being nice also, ask how far it is to the park, and start getting ready to leave. One of the guards asked her if she kept my name. No, She says.  The guard says to me "I'm sorry, but I need your DL again.  I pass it to him and he hands it to security.  She goes over to the SUV and copies my name and whatever to a sheet of paper.  I think she handed it back to me, and I put it up again. I'm preparing to leave. Engine, seat belts, lights... The guard says to me. "You should keep that gun a little more concealed while your in here, for your safety and for our safety. ESPECIALLY in a convertible."  "Thank you I will," I said, the officer moved the SUV, everyone turned to leave. I put the weapon under the passenger seat, and drove out toward the Frozen Head State Park.  I found a spot to park, called the wife, and said ,  your never going to believe this... I didn't stay long.  When I left, the security SUV followed me from the gate where I was stopped, to the entrance which is about half way by the place.  I moved on...

I know whats going on in my backyard, I'm sure they know whats going on  in theirs.  *wink* The principle put the fear of God in them at school, they denied taking pictures, and told him some crazy MF was taking pictures of them. They haven't been seen in here since. Thats my MOA, ( mode of operation)  crazy, works every time.   We know each other D. Need a hint? Smyrna CPA academy ring a bell? I also attended the Rutherford Sheriff CPA last fall.   Almost a detective.  ;)     Thank you for your military service and your work with the CPA alumni QD, But folks,  the QuietDan tage is a misnomer.       yours truly,   President and part time Spy,   Cobblestone Posse.   https://www.facebook.com/groups/140681099394845/
  12. I organized a Neighborhood watch program in our neighborhood last year.  Out of 80 homes, I have email and contacts for 55.  We had some kids not from the hood, spotted walking around the circle one evening just after dark.  A couple of days later, we had a neighborhood yard sale.  That afternoon I got a call that they were back.  I headed out, and caught them taking pictures.  Lots of garage doors were open etc.. They walked up to front doors and took pictures of the inside thru the windows. I took pictures and a short video of them.  When I looked at them,I had to look close to see that one had a camera in his hand. In the video, and you can see him hiding it from me..  My neighbor, a SHS assistant principle identified them..  I confronted them when I took the close up pictures and they gave me false names. One was flying the bloods gang bandana. Most everyone is the hood were shocked, such things going on right under their noses..   Enjoy.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtSLcqlSAvg

  15. neighbor learned his lesson   Got a real good neighbor, I helped him record a gospel R&B record (We recored most of it in my bedroom studio, mixed it best we could and sent if off to get it mastered.) He owns a rental house in the Boro. Few weeks ago, He got a call that there was a guy dealing dope in front of that house.  So he goes down, sits and watches, and sure enough, every 20 min or so he hops up from the curb, and makes a sale.  His stash is in my friends watermeter.  Instead of calling the popo, he walks up to the guy.  tried to be nice and reason with him. He says, I know what your doing, you know, I don't care how you get your money etc.  kids live here, blah blah.  The guy pulls a pistol on him and says who the F u think you are, you don't own this street.  He said he managed to mumble, well thats my watermeter.  Now my bro, hes got a black belt and pretty hard.  He bluffed.  I got a gun too, wat you want to do shoot it out here on the street.?   After a few more words, the guy backed down, got his stash and left.  My friend said he had never been so scared in his life. Now he is waiting on his HCP permit.  I been trying to get him to for awhile.  When I asked him why he handled it that way,  he said he thought he could talk to him brother to brother. He also said he knew people where watching and did not think it would be a big deal.  He also owns a couple of business, and if anybody needs to be armed, hes one. I told him to stick his head out of the church house once in a while, quit being so easy going and liberal, and just because your black, don't be afraid to call the cops.  Every time we talked guns, he would always say, well but I'm black and if I have to shoot someone I'm going to jail, right or wrong. I know racism exist, but I would like to believe a man of any race, religion would get fair treatment.  Then again, theres that mess in FLA.  Myself, on a good day, I'm not that brave or stupid...

  17. I had to go to a hospital in Chi town last year.  I took my heavy wood cane with, and the lock and bandanna separate. I was allowed onboard with the cane, which surprised me, because the heavy knob on top is screwed on with a big wood screw, which taken apart, gives me a 2.5 inch push stab on a good grip, and they x-rayed it. ;)  Once on the plane I tied the bandanna to the lock. At the hotel, my wife scoffed a knife from the room kitchen for her purse. The hospital is on the "gold coast"  ie. you have to have a pocket full of gold, just to eat.  I was surprised at how friendly and helpful the people in that area were.  They had an air show while we were there, crowd was elbow to elbow, but no thugs or beggers, I rode my wheelchair, and kept all the important goods on me, figuring the place was   ripe for pickpockets    I was amazed at how many people roamed around late at night, shopping eating etc. But,  I wouldn't want to live there, much less be able to afford it..   HeHe,  prison tactics? never been there thank GOD,  thats from back in my bike ridin days.  I do like the idea of something to beat the metal detectors...  But untie that lock, no one ever puts it on the bandanna in their mind..     Too  feeble for bikes nowdays, matter of fact today's my birthday, double nickels!!!  Never thought I would live to see that..   PS We have had a home plan in place for a long time, and we don't answer the door, unless we know someones coming over or calls from the drive.
  18. I get into the hospital elevator and there is a lone woman in it.  She stood at the buttons and kept her back to me the whole time.  I made a not to myself to talk to my wife about that. Like if she is alone and and someone, gets on with her, GET OFF! duh!    Later, we were leaving and the wife gets into the elevator, holds the door for me. I'm always behind her, using a walker.  When I approach the door there is a lone man standing in the  back with both hands behind his back.  I hesitate, I almost said, Let me see your hands, come here honey, etc. but no..  I stepped in, protected the wifes back and put the walker between us and the man.  I never took my eyes off his hands. I reached in my pockets and got the kbar last ditch knife in one hand, and the master lock attached to a bandanna in the other. Thats when he got nervous and brought his hands slowly into view.   There stands the wife, her back to the controls oblivious to  the whole situation. We had a long talk on the way home.  We agreed on a code word, to alert each other of possible danger.  Also, if I ask her if she has her phone, she knows to get her pepper spray ready, or if were packin, her gun.  Even though I constantly stay on her about situational awareness,  I still catch her with her head somewhere else all the time.  She has been scared once, and had her gun in her hand, but for some reason, she still lets her guard down at times.  I did get her to take the RAD class this year. Hopefully we are little better prepared next time.  Nag, Nag, Nag.     Anyone have any good tips they can share?
