  1. happens quite often Im sure. I went to college at the University of Memphis, and I can recall even seeing LEO's escorting people to restrooms in gas stations, to drug test after a traffic stop. There is a TON of crime there so I know they are probably over run, but it blew my mind the first time I saw it!
  2. Just like any profession, their are people who know their work and people who guess at their work. I could see how an unexperienced LEO could make several mistakes and possibly infringe on a civilians rights. Just as this could be a serious inconvenience for the law abiding citizen, it also could carry serious consequences for the LEO. I was once pulled over in Memphis by an officer who had know idea of who I was. He took my DL(record squeaky clean). While I was in my truck, another officer pulled up. They both approached my truck, and the 1st officer on the scene asked to search my vehicle. Well knowing my rights, as well as wanting to see how things played out, I told him no. I was asked to step out of the vehicle where I waited an addition 20-30 mins for a k9 unit to show up. I was told the procedure that would follow for the k9 unit, and then watched the dog walk the truck. Although the dog gave no indication, I was told that he had. A search of my truck top to bottom began. After finding nothing, I was told that I was free to go. I learned a valuable lesson that day. If the LEO wants to search your vehicle, he will find a way to do so. All that I can figure is that just like any job, there are those who do things the right way, and those who don't. If everything were black and white we would have no need for attorneys.
  3. I was thinking something on a bluff overlooking a lake would be prime. Have a boat ready by the water just incase.
  4. Antioch in general really started to decline when they relocated several section 8 neighborhoods there in an effort for more high end developments around the downtown Nashville area. I had a close childhood friend shot and killed there right after high school. He was walking back to the car when he was held at gunpoint, robbed, and shot in the head. I think that this general "urban" group of individuals would be intimidated if HH mall was still popular, but seeing as how upstanding citizens have moved on, the weeds have started to grow over. They should film a Zombie flick there, may give alot of them some purpose;)
  5. If you do order the Match Grade CMC officers 7 round mag that was recommended in this thread, make sure that you request the Power Mag + followers for them. The standard steel followers that come with the standard match grade mag, can possibly ruin an alloy frame. Luckily, I found out before my magazines had been shipped from CMC, but could have been a problem!
  6. The main reason o/u are so valuable for clay/hunting is because you have the ability to choke the two barrels differently for second shot distance incase of a miss(hunting) or two targets at once(clay). Aside from that I would say a good cheap pump would do the trick for home defense. Nice mossburg with a riot control barrel works great. First two out would be birdshot, after that it's all buck shot!
  7. I recently purchased an RCS and I have loved it so far(250 rounds). It surprised me how well it soaks up recoil better than most of my .40 cals even. I was, and still am a huge fan of the .40, and have stayed away from .45's until this point because of the ammo cost. The Sig however shoots so sweet, I can't wait to go burn another 250 rounds!
  8. Bought the Chip McCormick's you suggested ryanlaura02, thanks so much for your help!
  9. For sure the .40 unless you can run long distances, and quickly. Also depending on barrel length you would have to be pretty close with either which is not likely.
  10. What about this one? 55310 - Wilson Combat 1911 Service Magazine .45 ACP 7 Rounds Stainless Will it fit flush, and work with the more compact 1911? The price seems right.
  11. I will be by rivergate tomorrow. Are they open on Sunday's? Any idea what they will run me? I've seen them everywhere from $27-38 online. Obviously sold out though.
  12. Thanks alot guys. One of the problems I have been having is finding the Wilson mags for sure. Even the Sig ones have been sold out. When you only have 7+1 you need a few extras on hand!
  13. ***If you do order the Match Grade CMC officers 7 round mag that was recommended in this thread, make sure that you request the Power Mag + followers for them. Luckily, I found out before my magazines had been shipped from CMC, but could have been a problem!*** So, I recently purchased a Sig 1911 RCS and am wanting to scoop a couple of extra mags. I have heard rave reviews on the Wilson Combat stuff, but want to be sure that I get the correct size for my RCS. This is my first 1911 so I will probably have a few more questions. Also does anyone have a link to where they can be bought at the best price? Thank you in advance.
  14. Yeah, but I hear that the first one that hits you hurts like a bitch;)
  15. so most of the gun shops around murfreesboro deal mainly in pistols, and tactical firearms. I would like to know where to go to find a traditional browning, barretta, or banelli over and under 12 guage. i want at least 28" length barrels and want some nice wood and a good quality gun. Will pay cash. please pm me if you have any ideas for shops or other methods I may have overlooked, or my phone number is 615.556.8717. thanks
